Audrey
I got out of the Shower to find Meagan and two other ladies in the room, a bunch of dresses were laid out on the bed, the two ladies looked me up and down in a judgy manner which I took offence to, as much as I was used to getting dirty looks and hearing whispers from the pack members it doesn’t mean it didn’t sting, there were days when it really got to me, days when I wished I didn’t exist, when I wished there was an alternate universe I could escape to.
I returned the same nasty looks they had given and asked what they were all doing there, Megan replied saying it was the alpha’s orders.
“We are supposed to help get you ready.”
“Because I can’t do that myself?” I asked and no one answered, “Get out! all of you” I threatened lowly but the two ladies whose names I hadn’t gotten chuckled trying their best not erupt in laughter my temperature rose as rage filled me, I felt mocked and disrespected, was this Logan’s plan? To make a joke out of me, he seriously didn’t have to go through the trouble I was a joke as it is among the pack members.
I picked up a vase on the bedside aiming it at the wall behind the two ladies, a loud growl could be heard throughout the whole room as I threw the vase, they both ran out of there faster than lightning and instead of focusing on them I looked around for Logan thinking the growl had come from him but judging from the terrified look on Meagan’s face the sound clearly came from me. Her mouth was agape and her eyes were just as wide, she stood frozen in her place as if there was a force holding her there.
“What are you waiting for?” I barked and she finally broke out of her trance scurrying out of there, I grabbed all the dresses and threw them behind her landing them in the doorway.
Unbelievable how Logan got all these people just so they could come mock me, he could have just done that himself. Some days it’s so sickening especially because at one point we all used to be civil with one another, we grew up together, some of these people knew me way before the shift, and now that they could shift and I could not they reduced me to nothing? Fucking hypocrites, I should kill them just as I plan on doing to their alpha their ruthless murderous alpha who was all of a sudden trying to act all mate like.
“Mate?” his voice appeared from the doorway interrupting my thoughts, It was so soft I rolled my eyes in annoyance before turning to face him, while a part of me somewhat felt better seeing him I was still very much disgusted by his mere presence.
“You could have done it yourself you know?” I spat bitterly a huge lump forming in my throat as warm tears threatened to leave my eyes.
“You didn’t have to get them, you could have just mocked and ridiculed me yourself.” I tried to blink back the tears but instead they fell down my cheeks one after another like a passing train.
“What were they supposed to see? My bald patches, from all the times I was dragged by my hair?” I asked letting my hair lose.
“The scars? From all the times I was whipped and tied up?” I asked letting my towel lose doing a 360 turn so that Logan could see all of my scars, blue, green, red, black, purple, all the colors that covered my body, blisters, cuts, bumps and lumps.
“Or maybe had they just come to see the pathetic little non shifter who was claiming to be their alpha’s mate? You could have done all that yourself you could have mocked and belittled me you didn’t have to get your little whores.” I ended off feeling a bit light headed my voice was a pitch higher and I couldn’t control myself.
Logan stood still in his place, his eyes roaming my body as though he had never seen anything like it, he’d probably never seen something so disgusting.
“Say something.” I barked and suddenly began to see two of him, he moved his lips but no sound came out, he did wear an unknowing smirk that I wanted to slap off.
“Why is there two of you?” I asked losing my balance my vision being taken over by darkness, I felt Logan wrap his arms around me his scent filling my nostrils, he smelled so good like fresh melon on a hot summer’s day it was enchanting. “I thought men were supposed to smell like wood and spice” Were the last words I uttered before my world went completely dark.
I woke up to a Logan looking down at me running his fingers through my hair I jolted up trying to get as far away from him as I could.
“You’re touching me.” I coughed the words, my voice a little hoarse “Why are you touching me?”
Logan got up fixing himself, only then did I realize how dressed up he was. He was wearing a 3piece black Armani suit, his shirt was also black, the v part unbuttoned exposing some of the tattoos on his chest, an iced chain ran along his neckline compensating for the fact that he had no tie on he topped the look off with a silver diamond coated Rolex on his wrist and black earrings on his ears, one earing being a black diamond stud and the other a black cross. Unlike most men in suits would do, he had his hair hang loosely above his right eye exposing his slit left eyebrow. He was devilishly handsome and if he wasn’t the devil’s incarnate I would have offered myself to him right at this very moment.
“Get up, we’re late.” He said walking around the bed to hand me a glass of water, an act which I found oddly warming.
“Late?” I asked surprised, gosh he smelled so good.
Focus Audrey, he killed your brother, your last living relative, we hate him.
“Are you listening or would you like to stay home and stare at me all night.” Logan’s hoarse voice ripped through my thoughts, and only then did I realize I was fawning over him shamelessly.
“Um… I, where did you say we were going?”
“To meet the Lycan King, he may not despise lateness as much but I do, so would you mind hurrying up, make sure you look nice, well nice enough to complement me, you think you can manage that?”
“Shallow jerk” I mumbled under my breath before getting out of bed, I was on my way to the bathroom when I tripped over the rug my breath got hitched in my throat and before my body hit the ground, a pair of muscular arms had caught me.
The voice in my head began chanting the words mate and I felt like I was paralyzed, completely still in that moment, both our gazes holding the other, Logan’s eyes began dilating a loud growl coming from his chest and he immediately dropped me, it was not a bad fall because I was closer to the ground, only then did it register that Logan was taking me to meet the Lycan King.
“wait, why would you take me to see the Lycan King?”
“You’re my mate aren’t you? I have to present you to him, but at the rate you’re going it seems I’ll be presenting my handsome self to king instead” he walked out referring to the fact that I wasn’t ready yet.
I quickly freshened up, tying my hair in a high bun to hide my bald patches then curled a few lose strands that hang from my face stylishly. I didn’t do much to my face, just applied foundation to even out my skin tone some concealer, blush lip liner and gloss when I was done threw on one of the dresses that had been laid out on the bed, picking out a dress that had the fullest coverage, long sleeves closed back and everything, I didn’t want to have to answer any questions and I won’t even ask how Logan got my dress size since he seems to know everything about me.
I got downstairs and to find that he had prepared me ‘a little something to eat’ he was also just finishing up his own meal, I thought there’d be food where we were going, almost as if he just read my mind the alpha explained that he never leaves for a function without having eaten because you never know when you might need the energy. I just think the alpha is a passionate foodie because this man is always feeding me and he’s always eating.
“You look decent.” He commented pushing a velvet box in my direction then he proceeded walking over to my side, burying his nose in my collar he took a huge breath, breathing my scent in, an act that sent a series of shivers down my spine, he did not comment, just growled aggressively and I must say that was a very sensational moment.
I opened the box and it revealed the simplest but prettiest pair of earrings, the diamond was ocean blue with specs of grey in them, tears gathered at my eyes as I admired their beauty. “I never thought something so simple could be this pretty” I spoke more to myself and Logan said he thought they complemented my personality, first nice thing he’s ever said to me. I closed the box pushing it aside and he asked if I wasn’t going to put them on, I shook my head shyly. “Oh stop being so modest” He walked over to my side and began putting the earrings on me, he was so close I felt like my heart would beat out of my chest, after placing the last one he lingered for a few seconds longer his eyes roaming my face, he ran his thumb lightly across my lower lip bringing it to his own lips, “Don’t make a mess.” He spoke softly.
Whatever this man is attempting, I really don’t like it because it's making me admire him and just yearn for his attention.
“Come on.” He led me out of the house, actually opening the passenger’s side for me and teasingly he strapped my seatbelt on once more being so dangerously close to me, “can’t have you running off,” he said and I could tell he was being humorous, then he got into the driver’s side “What?” no trunk this time?” I asked trying to get a reaction out of him but he simply responded by telling me that it could be arranged if I still didn’t feel like being in the same space as him. Jack ass!!!
The drive to the Palace was a quiet calm one, soft music was playing in the background and Logan kept speaking from time to time telling Audrey what to and what not to do, not in a commanding manner but just as a heads up.They got to the palace and Audrey remembered that the last time she was here was when they were on a field trip in the 6th grade, she remembers meeting the King and the Queen they were so nice she wanted to be just like the Queen. Strong, elegant, nice and graceful, but to her disappointment she had turned out to be a disgraceful non shifter who by some miracle was mated to the murderous alpha, she sighed deeply stepping out of the car.Logan wrapped his arm around her waist taking her left hand on the far end and intertwining their fingers the closeness giving her butterflies, ‘this man smells so good’ she thought to herself. Four guards and a butler were stationed at the door, they all nodded in acknowledgement at the pair, and Audrey found herself pressing harder
Audrey’s POVI squinted my eyes trying to adjust them to the light, the curtains had been drawn and breakfast had been set by my side. It’s been three weeks since I’ve seen Logan around the house, his presence I feel, but his face I don’t see, he’s been ignoring me ever since we got back from the dinner, not that I’m complaining, seeing less of him has been very healing to my mental and emotional health. I got up and prepared the bed, took a shower then went on to have my breakfast downstairs the house was so quiet my mind drifted off to all the times my brother and I sat and shared a meal together, it was just the two of us but his presence felt like I was in a room full of thousands of people, he was so kind and funny, and he always remembered to care for me. I missed him so much.“Are you crying?” Logan’s voice pierced through my thoughts, I hadn’t noticed him standing in the doorway. Audrey's POVLogan and I got in the car and followed the guard to the borders, I didn’t have the greatest memories of that area but I pushed everything backward and when we got there we found a young boy probably in his 18,19s he seemed pretty beat up, like life hadn’t dealt him the nicest hand, he was pinned to the ground by one of the guards and when he saw me he squirmed happily in what I assumed was an attempt to acknowledge my presence.“It’s you” he coughed out dryly“Moon-born” he looked at me his eyes sparkling with hope and I was just confused, why was this boy so happy to see me and what’s with the name?Logan eyed him before squatting down to his level.“Why are we here?” he asked no one in particular, his eyes fixated on the boy his hair messily covered one side of his face and his alpha aura dominated the whole place.“Alpha this boy has been snooping around the borders for the past three days, and today he came up to us claiming he needed to see the Luna.” The guard expl
Audrey and Meagan burst open the door to find both Mason and Logan in their wolf form, Mason’s grey wolf had Logan‘s black wolf pinned to the floor in an attempt to restrain him from attacking the young boy who was only a few feet away looking more frightened than when the guards had him pinned down.Audrey wondered what enraged Logan so much, he seemed so peaceful a few minutes ago skipping over rocks and buying her kebab sticks. She couldn’t help but shiver at seeing her mate so enraged his wolf was foaming and growling viciously. She took slow steps towards both wolves, her heart hammering hard against her chest, she didn’t know what she was doing but she knew she had to calm this man down.“Logan?” Her soft quiet voice echoed through the room wheilr she took the slowest steps she could towards the two big wolves pinning each other down‘Goddess is this what walking into the Lion’s den feels like?’ She thought to herself. ‘If this wolf decides to rip me apart it's game over for me
Audrey's POVI came back to the lounge with the Kit in hand Logan was now plunged on the couch his good hand tightly holding on to the glass bottle with brown liquor in it.Standing in the doorway a few seconds, I huffed feeling drained by his foul mood that didn’t seem to be calming down, I know his conversation with the rogue triggered him but I didn’t think he’d still be brooding over it I definitely didn’t pick him to be such a clumsy drinker.I wonder what that last tantrum was about, what did he mean everyone leaves? Could it have something to do with what the rogue said?“I never left, I’m here” I playfully raised the kit above my head my voice also playful like I was babysitting a troubled teen who had just hit puberty and needed reassurance for everything. For the most part of it this man here was definitely troubled. He looked at me lazily, raising the bottle to his lips. And I sighed sitting myself beside him and taking his hand to inspect it. Logan's toes tingled in excitement, he was finally going to get some of the answers he couldn't get out of Delynn, maybe his admiration for Audrey would make him tell them where his sister was, all he wanted was to find his sister, he wondered how she survived all these years. He never forgave himself for not protecting her back then, and now, a light of hope flickered deep within him, this time their parents were no longer around he would try his hardest to protect his sister and they would never be apart again.Audrey’s face was frowned her brows furrowed as she seemed to be deep in thought, she couldn’t decipher what all this talk about energy meant. Logan had mentioned feeling something from her and now Delynn was saying the same thing.Taking a deep breath, she intertwined her fingers stilling her shoulders “Look Delynn I’m sure you’re here for a reason.” Her face was stoic her tone firm. “why don’t you save our time and yours by simple getting to the point”Logan’s chest rose p
Audrey sat in the gazebo; she found it was a nice quiet place where she could get lost in her head. The Gazebo looked like a sanctuary built from black wood encased by transparent glass in the far end of the garden. It was surrounded by a pond that formed an isle when one walked towards it, her favorite part was the green surrounding it as well as the smell of pine and water that lingered in the air. Although it was just the placebo effect, Audrey found the air there to be more comforting and refreshing, if she had a choice she would spend all her days there. The interior was just as much as mesmerizing as the exterior it was a minimal modern setting with a modern fire pit in the center of the room, an L shaped couch, two straw couches that were flooded with neutral colored cushions and a glass table meeting the L shaped couch. She sat in the L shaped couch allowing her body to melt into the plush material as she held a novel which she hadn’t opened. Audrey’s POVI put the last bowel in the cupboard glad that I was finally done with the dishes, immediately feeling a burning pain caused by me stretching my arms too high, I winced standing still for a few seconds scared that if I made any sudden movement the bleeding would start again, these wounds were still so throbbingly painful it felt like I had just gotten my beating.Yesterday’s beating felt a bit more personal, ‘a shifter ’s motivation’ is what they call it, that is how they justify the cruel abuse they put me through and yesterday I had the honor of being ‘motivated’ by the alpha himself. Every landing whip felt like my skin was being ripped off and salt was being poured over the wound over and over again, as the thick leather cord made contact with my skin the pain that coursed through my veins felt like a thousand flaming needles were moving through my body headed straight for my heart, it hurt so bad I couldn’t recognize my own screams. I thought I’d gotten used to it bu

Audrey’s POVI turned in my sleep and opened my eyes to find stormy grey ones looking directly into my orbs, I would have thought Logan would have me sleeping in another room or on the floor even but to my surprise I’ve been waking up next to him for the past four days, he is not there when I go to bed but he is there when I wake up.He hasn’t said much and I haven’t attempted to speak to him either, what can I possibly say to the man who killed my brother? I have nightmares about that day every night, Scott was the most important person in my life, He was the only person that brought any kind of happiness in my life and now he was no more.“Get dressed” Logan said interrupting my thoughts and finally speaking after our last interaction.“What?” I silently asked getting up. He got out of bed standing on his feet, his tall frame towering over me as he looked down, he wore nothing but grey sweatpants which hung dangerously low his toned abs in full view, I felt a bit flush seeing him th
