Chapter 9

Margot felt her heart break at Curtis' sharp glare.

Did he think she had pushed Tammy?

What a joke. Her husband didn't even trust her.

Margot thought about the baby in her belly and controlled her emotions. Then, she went downstairs to eat.

She did not leave the house for the whole day. She just kept looking up pregnancy facts on her phone.

Curtis and Tammy were in the hospital. Tammy had just left the ER and was being sent to her ward.

Curtis found her doctor and went to ask about Tammy's condition.

The doctor reported, "She's in bad shape, especially her brain. There's a risk of blindness. She also fractured her right leg. She might need to be in a wheelchair for a while."

Curtis left the doctor's office. He was perplexed as he headed to Tammy's ward.

He was indebted to Tammy. Now that Tammy had gotten hurt in his home, it would be hard to shake off the blame.

He stood outside of Tammy's ward. His posture was tense as he dreaded entering. However, he did not have a choic
