Chapter 10

After dinner, Curtis changed his clothes to go to the hospital.

Margot followed behind and asked softly, "Curt, can I go with you? If you're worried, I can wait for you at the door."

She wanted to see how badly hurt Tammy was.

Tammy did this to herself. She played with fire and she wasn't afraid to get burned.

Curtis looked at Margot. He said, "I might not come home tonight. There's no use in you going to the hospital. Stay at home and rest."

"Do you plan on being with her for the whole night?"

Curtis did not answer her, but his gaze told her everything.

Margot's bitter mood immediately resurfaced. However, she did not make a scene.

She watched Curtis leave as she sat in the living room. She felt like something heavy was pressing down on her chest.

She was screaming at the nurses, "Get away from me. Turn on the lights. Why can't I see anything? Why?"
