Chapter 13

Curtis did not want to recall the consequences of his impulsive actions when he was young.

He looked at Margot. He hesitated slightly before changing the topic.

"Alright. Let's not talk about other people. Let's eat."

Margot noticed Curtis did not want to talk about it, so she relented.

She quietly lowered her head and ate while she tried to keep the bitter feeling in her stomach down.

Tears brimmed in her eyes as she tried hard to not let the tears fall.

Curtis did not touch his cutlery the whole time. He just sat and watched Margot eat.

Margot looked up and noticed he was not eating. Her voice was slightly hoarse. "Curt, aren't you eating? You also seemed to have lost weight."

"I'm not hungry."

Margot was persistent in wanting to watch him eat. She put some food on his plate. "Curt, eat with me."

Curtis reluctantly picked up his cutlery.

After they ate, Margot asked, "So you won't be following me home tonight as you'll be accompanying her, right?"
