Preface

"Good morning, Ma'am!"

They all greeted me as I walked to my office, I just smiled a little at them. Some of them I meet and slightly bow to me and greet me and immediately return to their seats. My cheek also hurts every time I smile at them. I also told them not to do that to me, just greet me or smile at me but I can do nothing because I am the younger sister and Daughter of their CEO and President.

I turned slightly when Nea, my innocent and my nervously personal assistant, suddenly appeared beside me. She gave me a nervous smile then looked straight ahead, I just gave her a nod before we entered my office. I sighed as I sat down in my swivel chair, I opened the laptop.

"Schedule?" I asked Nea while setting up my laptop. I looked at him and looked at the clipboard as if in a panic. I don't know if he is afraid of me because of my voice or is it natural to him? I inherited my voice from Ate.

"U-uhm... You have a meeting with Mr. Rivera but he said he's not--" I immediately cut her off. I immediately looked back at the laptop.

"Cancel that, he has wanted to have a meeting with me several times but he doesn't show up," I said irritated while my brows frowned in front of my laptop. 

That old man, he is one of my pet peeves. Not showing up to the meeting. He was just wasting my time! The morning I wake up just for him then he just says he can't come?

Early in the morning, he ruins my day. If only I could, I wouldn't have included him here, I should have done it a long time ago.

"It's because it's his son..."He couldn't finish what he was going to say when I looked at my cellphone when it suddenly rang, I took it from the table and looked to see who had messaged me.

We have a lunch with Dad and Suarez family. Prepare yourself.

Meeting again with Suarez family...

I put it back on the table and took a deep breath. I looked around the table. I pursed my lip and bit the inside of my cheek.

"So... I have nothing to do this morning, so..." I whispered and stoop up in my seat "Let's go, Nea. We will eat outside," I told her and took off my coat and hung it on the back of my swivel chair.

After I said that, I walked out first and he just followed me. When I left the office, the employees looked at us, I bowed and closed my mouth. As for me not to disturb them in what they are doing. When we left the building, we just went to the nearby Starbucks. 

We can't go any further, I will spend more gas. When we entered there were already many people, fortunately we found a place to sit right away. I turned to Nea when she suddenly stood up and looked at me.

"Ma'am, I will order," she said goodbye to me, I nodded and just handed her my card. She smiled at me before walking to the counter.

It took a long time before Nea could order, I just watched her order because I was out numbered. Because we have employees here who eat here. I don't want them to congratulate me even here. Outside we are friends but inside we are not.

My eyes widened when I saw that our food almost fell on the tray because of a man standing shoulder to shoulder with Nea, I immediately stood up from my chair and approached Nea.

"Oh God!" I almost shouted because of the nervousness, I gave a bad look at the man who bumped into Nea who was standing in line at the counter 

"My gosh?! He wasn't looking on his way! Tss." I shouted to him. 

I took the tray from Nea and brought it to our table, I put it down and sat next. "Thank you, Ma'am," After Nea said no, I frowned and looked at her but only for a few moments I gave her a small smile.

"It's okay, but please... Don't call me 'Ma'am' when we go out, just call me anything you want to call or 'Dev' I told you!" I said irritated.

We didn't finish our food because I had a lunch with Dad but also Suarez's Family. We ate close but I was still late. I kept driving so my ex was late for the meeting, I was the one who was so embarrassed for Suarez's family. I don't know if that time is fast or I'm just really slow to get stronger. 

When the meeting ended, I immediately returned to the office. I saw an email from my step brother, Warren. I immediately clicked it and my forehead furrowed even more because of his email with the subject 'surprise email'.

Devonce,

We need to talk about something here at my office. 9:00 PM. Yeah, you're right. There is a punishment for being late. No more but, this is important.

Your lovely brother, Warren.

"Something again?! You're so annoying, Warren!" I groaned as I want becausae no one's can hear it except to Nea, my office are soundproof even our meeting room tho, so no one can hear what we're talking about.

Ever since I joined Kuya's company, that has been one of his habits, he sends me to the office to talk about things. He does that so that I don't object to what he wants.

When I regained my senses, I ordered Nea to get me some water. Until now, I still can't get out of my mind what Kuya and I want to talk about. It's annoying! Something is still something, why don't you just tell me what it's about so I'm ready for what I have to say? 

I felt Nea entering so I instructed her to just put it in the living area. I looked at the watch on my arm, it's been a long time but that's what makes me nervous! Annoying! 

Some time passed and I got bored so I just made the presentation for tomorrow. I didn't realize that I fell asleep, I just woke up when I heard someone come in. When I looked, it was Nea, pouring water into my glass. I stretched and looked at the clock, frowning when I saw that it was almost 9:00 PM.

Am I sleeping that long now? I stood up and stretched my body again, only to be stopped when Nea suddenly placed a paper on my desk. He quietly taught me what to do, so I just signed them. Then I walked to the living area and drank some water, I went back to my table and took my bag. I took the pouch bag inside it. 

Because of my long sleep, I look haggard.

"Goood evening," I greet Kuya when I enter his office.

"So... Dad mentioned to you that Khni Suarez will join our company, right?" He open up to the conversion.

I just nodd as a response, I frowned as he placed a paper in front of me. I looked at it and I was about to clear my throat when I read what was written on it, my eyes widened and I was shocked looking at him.

"Saavedra?!"I asked him in surprise, he just looked at me seriously "I will not agree," I added and avoid my gaze.

"You have already signed the paper, why are you still refusing?" My eyes widened and I frowned when I looked at him, but I immediately looked down at the paper and looked for my signature.

"Oh shit..." I whispered.I suddenly remembered that this is the paper that Nea made me sign! Why is he so quiet?! "Where's the original copy of this? The one without the letter and signature? I'll repeat it!"

"Terrified," He took the paper and waved in front of me.

"I won't agree. It's mine, I'll tear it up. Just print a new one," I said, I stood up from the chair and was about to take it from him but he immediately pushed it away.

"Devi, what?" There was annoyance in his voice but he didn't show it to me.

"You can't do anything because you're already signed! And why don't you like Alex? Do you know each other? What is the thing he did to you and you don't like him?" I was stunned by Kuya's questions one after the other.

I just looked at him seriously and snorted. No intention to answer. If you only knew what he did to me, Warren...

When I arrived, I immediately opened the back seat and put my stuff in there, I went around the front before getting into the driver's seat. I started the engine and left the car park. I first went to starbucks to buy him something to eat, he was too busy with his work so he didn't have time to buy his food.

When I arrived I just parked my car in front of the hospital because I would not be here so long,I picked up the paper bag with only Videlle food I bought at starbucks in the shotgun seat and got out of the car. When I went inside and I went straight to the information area.

"Good evening, Ma'am. How may I help you?" The nurse asked.

"Doctor Lourez, is he available tonight?" I asked.

"Wait a few minutes, Ma'am," She answered with a smile "Are you and Doc relatives?" he asked.

"Girlfriend," I answered and she immediately looked at me but also returned to what she was doing. One of my eyebrows rose as I noticed her secretly laughing as she waited for Videlle to answer on the telephone.

"Yes, Doc. It's your girlfriend," I heard the nurse say. I was shocked by my senses and secretly laughed.

"Thank you," the nurse answered the phone with a smile and hung up "He's coming down, Ma'am. He doesn't have a girlfriend, so you can sit in the waiting area first." The nurse smiled and pointed to the waiting area.

I just smiled and walked towards the row, I was about to sit at the end when I looked up at Videlle who was smiling and shaking her head. I stood up properly and grinned at him.

"Hey, Devi. I thought I had chatted it on Tinder," He suddenly said and was overwhelmed with his senses "You're stressing me out, Devi,"

"Wow, I don't seem stressed either, right?" I sarcastically asked "Besides, is it really tinder?" I asked again. I handed him the paper bag, his brows frowned at it and his gaze went to me.

"What is that?" He innocently asked.

"Probably food!" I irritated said and rolled my eyes.

He took the paper bag in my hand "I hope it's caldereta," He mouthed while looking at what the paper bag contains.

"Does that look like a caldereta in a paper bag?!" I asked an irritating question and was about to slap him on the arm but he immediately avoided it, it was obvious that it was from Starbucks because of the icon on the paper bag.

"Hey, you're really annoying," I said annoyed and crossed my arms over my chest.

"It's just a joke, but thanks for this, I guess I still bothered you," He said and held his neck, embarrassed.

"No! I'm on my way home and I saw your i* story," I answered, even before I got off work I saw his i* story. He wants a caldereta but I can't find a karenderya because there is no karenderya store on the hi*h way to the hospital where he works.

"Hahahaha! Did you get hit?" He chuckled, he looked at the paper bag again and was smiling like crazy. I just gave him a hard time and looked at the watch on my arm, it was almost eleven o' clock.

"I'm leaving, that's all I went through here, bye!" I said goodbye to him and quickly walked out of the hospital. I got into the car and started the engine.

I slowly backed the car and my eyes widened when I suddenly heard something behind me, I immediately got out of the car and went to the back of my car, my eyes widened and looked at the car that hit my car.

"Damn it! Whenever I'm in a hurry to go home, there's an accident," I whispered and rubbed the bridge of my nose. I looked up when the car owner got out of the car and I stiffened when I saw who it was.

He's here, infront of me.

I could not move where I was when it walked to the front and looked at what I had hit, he removed his shades from his face and looked at me.

"Miss, you hit my car," I tried to avoid my gaze but I failed because he looked at me too seriously.

W-wait! He just called me 'Miss'?!

My brows frowned "S-sorry, your car is blocking my way, that's wrong," I respond. He licked her lips so I also licked my lips, I immediately looked away when I realized what I did.

"I see," He whispered. My forehead furrowed as he pulled some money out of his pocket "Here," My eyebrows rose slightly as he handed it to me, my eyes widened as he walked towards me and I was about to walk back but he quickly took my hand and put the money in my hand.

"Here, sorry for bothering you, Miss. Let just the mechanic do it." He said and walked back inside his car.

My lips parted and I was still shocked by what had happened, he pretends he doesn't know me and seemed to have forgotten what he had done to me like it was as if he had not deceived me and played with me.
