02: Shaun's Party

"Dios mio! Thank you for donating, Devi!"

"It's just a small thing but it's a very big thing for them," I said with a smile and handed her the clothes that I had shrunk and some food.

We also wrapped a lot of reliefs and arranged the clothes to be distributed because many people also donated clothes and food so it seemed like it was too much, Marissa and I thought about giving it to the homeless and street children.

"True! Uhm, will you join us in giving it to the victims of the typhoon?" she asked as she folded the clothes. I looked at my cellphone clock.

"No, I'm going to review because we have an exam next week," I answered and snorted.

"Well, it's okay! are you? Good luck in your exam!" he laughed and slapped my arm lightly, I just grinned at him and continued packing the reliefs.

We have expedited the packing of reliefs and clothes because there are already many evacuees in the barangay that they will take, they will go to two more barangays so it will be difficult for them to pass through the road due to mud and floods. When we finished packing we put it in boxes and put it in the back of the small truck.

When they left, I went strai*ht to my car, I opened the driver's seat and got on, I first warmed up the engine because it was cold here in Laguna. It's not raining here, it's just windy, while I was waiting to warm up the engine of my car I was scrolling through the news feed on i*.

I screamed when I accidentally clicked on Tim's i* story, my eyes immediately widened when I saw that he had a handsome companion in the picture of their friends, I even screenshotted it and visited the gallery. I bit my lip when I realized he looked good, who could it be and what was his name? I pouted my lip and put it back my cellphone on the dashboard, he looks like a hard-to-get person.

When I got to the condo, I was just about to insert the key when I jumped from where I was standing when my cell phone suddenly rang, I quickly took the cell phone out of my bag and answered it."Hello?" I opened it while holding my chest, I didn't have much coffee but I was so surprised.

[Good afternoon, Devi! Are you free tomorrow?] Colette asked on the phone.

"What's up! Yep, I don't have much to do tomorrow, why??" I asked while opened the door of my unit.

[Then good! I'm glad to hear that! Tomorrow is Shaun's birthday, are you coming?]

I went inside my unit and dropped my stuff on the sofa "Yeah! I'm going!" I answered, she said goodbye after that because that's all she called.

I cleaned the unit first and cooked my food before taking a bath, when I finished taking a bath I threw myself on the bed and sighed heavily. I feel very tired today, I washed my face and sighed heavily. What did I do today?

I got out of bed to get my cellphone from my side table, after I got it I directly clicked on i*******m. My chest pounded fast when I saw that Tim was talking again so I immediately clicked on it, my eyes lit up when I saw the man with him again and there were other names mentioned so I still had to look for him, when I found him I was shriek inside.

Shit! Thank you lord! Is this the one I've been waiting for?

I quickly searched for his username, when I searched I was shocked to see that he had many followers. I even stalked him for a while when I saw that he only had three posts, he didn't have a picture of himself so why should I keep it on his timeline?

The next day, I woke up early because one of my schoolmates called to teach me about food and beverage. I put my bed away and then went inside bathroom. After I finished taking a shower, I dried my hair with a towel, then I got dressed.

I'm just wearing a simple casual, navy green sweatshirt and black high waist legging paired with white nike shoes. I took my cellphone and wallet as well as the car keys, I left the unit and got on the elevator.

"Hey, thank you for teaching me. Did I bother you yet?" Vanessa asked shyly.

"What are you saying? It's nothing! I'm not doing anything in my condo," I answered, scratching the back of my neck, embarrassed.

"I can't be preached to anymore," Vanessa said with a laugh, I laughed a little at what she said.

"When you need to teach again, just call me?" I said. He nodded and gave an 'ok' sign. I waved to him before walking away.When I got to my condo, I was just sitting on the sofa when my cellphone suddenly rang, I took it from the side table and looked to see who had messaged me.

I watched a movie on n*****x first because I have nothing else to do. At eight o'clock I took a bath because it took me a while to get ready. When I finished, I dried my hair first and then I changed my clothes. I don't know what kind of birthday it was so I'm just wearing white lace bra and brown pants and I paired it with black coat, I just put a minimal make up dbecause it will also peel off if I last longer at the party.

I took my baguette bag and car keys, I left the unit and took the elevator. When I arrived at the car park, I opened the driver seat and got in, I put my bag on the passenger seat and started the car engine. I even picked up Natt from her condo because she said she had a bad day the other day, we picked up Adee next. There wasn't that much traffic tonight so we quickly arrived where Shaun's birthday was being held.

"Videlle? Is he coming?" I asked Adee as she got into the car while I looked in the rear view mirror.

"He might be late." She answered when she sat down. I just nodded and drove the car away. When we arrived I parked the car first then we got out of the car.

When we entered the bar, many people looked at us, so I looked away because I felt lost. Many people are also congratulating Natt. It won't be lost at all parties, so most of the people here already know him, usually even men greet him.

"Omg! Hi, girls! Finally you're here!" Colette said when I met her on the way to our table. She kissed me and she did the same to Adee and Natt.

"What you're wearing is pretty!" she said smiling and looked at me from head to toe, I sneezed and made a face.

"What? It's like I don't see that in myself," I answered and was embarrassed. She laughed and slapped my arm lightly, she suddenly took drinks from a passing waiter and gave them to me and Adee and Natt.

"Wait! Where's Videlle? Aren't you with her?" Colette asked as she looked around, looking for Videlle.

"Don't wait for him, he's always late for all of occation." Natt replied. I looked at the clock on the cellphone. Yes, he was 45 minutes late.

"Oh, wait! Lemme call Shaun!" he said goodbye. I just nodded in response and he immediately left, I turned to my two companions and sat next to Adee.

"Oh? I'll see you at the car park?" Natt asked with a smile as he stood in front of us and drank the glass of wine in his hand. I turned to Adee who had been silent for a while.

"You, Adee?" I will ask.

"I'll just wait here for Videlle," he answered and drank the glass he was holding while looking somewhere, I just nodded and didn't answer. 

I stood up and walked away with Natt. We went our separate ways because we were going to the second floor, while I was going to Shaun's table to greet him.

"Hey! Devi?" I was surprised when a man suddenly approached me, at first I couldn't see his face because it was dark but I recognized him immediately from his voice.

"Tim! You're here!" I laughed and shook his hand.

"Of course! It's frenny's birthday!" he answered "Where are you going?" He asked and frowned, waiting for my answer.

"At their table Shaun." My answer.

"Oh! That's exactly where I'm going!" he said that's why we went there together.

When we arrived, there were acquaintances who also greeted me and had a conversation before I could greet Shaun.

"Happy birthday, Shaun!" I greeted him and kissed him.

"Thank you!" he thanked "Oh! By the way, let me introduce you to someone," he said, my brows furrowed. He stood up and I followed him with my gaze, my chest throbbed when I saw the man he was talking to.

"Devi!" I was slightly surprised when Shaun mentioned my name "This is Alex, my friend." Shaun said and gave me a sly grin.

Dang! I didn't think that he was the guy who crashed my car and was with Tim in the picture. Why did I just realize it now?! My God! Devi!

"Hi, Alex," he introduced himself and held out his hand.

"D-devi," I answered and shook his hand. I looked away when he suddenly grinned at me.

"Oh... I remember, he was the one I was referring to you, Tim. Who hit my car," he suddenly said and slightly laughed while he was staring at me. I immediately frowned and gave him a bad look.

"What? Not me! You are the fool who hit into my car!" I fired back and I crossed my arms over my chest "Look how rude you are..." I whispered. I raised one eyebrow when I heard him laugh.

"Don't be mad, I already paid you." He laughed and said, I just ignored him and walked away from him. Not funny. He paid me but not enough!

I just went back to our table again, I don't know but I've lost the desire to party, Natt isn't here to make noise. Maybe, I'll just be happy with Adee who is quiet at our table. I looked up when I smelled a familiar scent.

"Sorry, I'm late," he said and scratched his head while looking around, looking for someone.

"You still come, huh," I teased and tormented him. He got a beer from a passing waiter and sat next to me.

"Where's Natt?" He asked and drank the glass he was holding. I didn't answer and just let the two of them and Adee talk, I stood up and was about to walk away when Videlle suddenly asked a question.

"Where are you going?" He asked and looked up at me.

"Ask the turtle," I replied annoyed to him and tortured him.

"I've been asking you for a while," he answered, looking at me with a frown and raised an eyebrow. I was about to punch him but he immediately avoided it, afraid of getting hurt."It's good to trample, I'm going to take a bath!" I answered and walked away.

When I got to the bathroom I just washed my hands then dried my hands, I put one arm on the counter top and the other one was holding my sense. I think I will have it today or maybe next week, I sighed and decided to leave the bathroom.

"Hey!" My eyes widened when I came out and someone pulled my waist causing my forehead to hurt.

"Fuck you!"

My eyes widened and I turned back when I heard the breaking of a bottle, my lips parted when I realized that someone was fighting near us, I didn't realize it because I was thinking about something. I frowned when I remembered that there was a hand on my waist, I looked up and my mouth closed when I almost kissed his chin. I'm very close to him and almost! He looked down at me so I immediately looked away.

"Are you okay?" He asked and he also released my waist. I glanced at him and immediately avoided my gaze.

"Do I look okay?" I answered sarcastically, I glared at him before walking away and leaving him. Psh, just revenge!

As I approached our table, I saw Videlle standing up and a woman with her, I stopped when I saw that there was no one at our table. Where are those?! I was left speechless! I took my cellphone and asked Adee where she was, I put my cellphone back in the bag because Adee wasn't online. I left the bar to get some fresh air, after all, Videlle and Adee weren't there.

"Oh! Shit!" My eyes widened as cold water hit my chest. My clothes are wet and I can still see my lace bra! I looked up and saw a woman who looked younger than me.

"Omygod! Miss, I'm sorry!" She said in a panic and was about to wipe it with his handkerchief but I immediately avoided it.

"No! No need! I'm going home!" I answered and tried to smile as I waved my two hands and said no more.

"Are you sure?" she asked and I immediately nodded "There is a room there where you can change your clothes."

"No! No, I'm sure, no." I said and she smiled and left.

When I was outside I looked for my car, I couldn't see it because it was maroon in color. I gasped and shook myself because it was just behind me, I was about to open the driver's seat door when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned to it and my lips parted slightly.

"Why?" I asked and raised an eyebrow at him. My eyebrows rose even more when he used two clothes "What am I going to do with that?"

"Change your clothes, it's not just that water spilled on you," he said and looked at me seriously but immediately looked away. I looked down at my chest and immediately returned to him. I hesitated whether to take it or not but in the end I took it.

"Thank you."

He just nodded and looked at his cellphone "I gotta go." My eyes widened as he quickly ran away.

"Wait!" I shouted but he didn't hear me because he went inside.

I looked at the two clothes I was holding, I don't know how I can return them to him?!
