81 - The First Red Flag

I quickly slipped out of bed. My cold feet touched the floor, and I rubbed my eyes, trying to get my bearings. I was in the children's room, having slept in the single bed that used to be Dandara's, along with Josh. Jaden had slept in the nursing chair, cradling Miriam. She was so attached to him.

Yesterday, we made the most difficult decision for us. It was obvious that none of us wanted to give up the children, but it was no longer a matter of choice. It was that or put them in danger, and the last thing I wanted was for them to be in danger.
