“Louis, I swear that if you don’t open this door this very minute, I am going to break it down!” he yelled from outside.

She groaned and she walked to the door. With one wave of her hand, the door opened. She met his eyes glowing and his fangs outside. She rubbed her forehead and she yawned.

“I don’t think you understand the urgency of this issue. I don’t think you understand the fact that the entire kingdom is depending on you right now” he said to her.

“Maybe I do, maybe I don’t but without rest, I wouldn’t be able to help you, them or the kingdom so please, can you stop yelling? The whole place is silent and everything keeps echoing. It is giving me a headache. That is the last thing we both need” she said to him.

“I am starting to think that all of that dark magic got into your brain and it is really messing with you” Xavier said to her, turning around to look at her

“This is not about the habits. It has nothing to do with running. Layla is human. All her life, she has been human. I came into her life and I showed her that the world is bigger than what she thinks and she has been getting into one trouble or the other since then. All of this, she isn’t built for it” Liam said to her. “And I was? You abandoned me. I was built for that? I had my kid taken away from me. Was I also built for that?” she asked him. “Guys, look. As much as I want the family back together, this is the totally wrong time for us to be doing this so please, can we just stop screaming at each other and find a way to conserve whatever strength we have left so that we can get out of here or at least, find a way to get the hell out of here?” Jared said to them. “Jared is right. We need to find a way out of here and arguing is not going to help us right now” Liam said to her. “Leaving is not going to help us either” she said to him. “I don’t have a choice” he said to her.

“Don’t fall behind. Get out of this, the both of you! I said that I wasn’t losing anybody else and I meant that” Jared said to the both of them.“See you both on the other side” her brother said to them. She nodded at him and she closed her eyes. She could feel herself drift away from them and suddenly, she could no longer feel their presence. She fought the urge to open her eyes and see if they were still there or if her mind was playing tricks on her. She kept her eyes closed until she could hear the breeze, the birds in the air and the waters that ran down the stream. She opened her eyes and she saw Jared standing there but she was certain that it wasn’t the same person that she had just left a while ago. He looked younger. Like when she had first met him. She was back there. She turned around and his welcoming smile was everything. She just wanted to sleep in his arms where she had the most sanity. She felt the place shake and she knew that she wasn’t out, not quite yet. “What i

“I don’t know if I can lose anybody again. When I say that I cant lose anybody again, it includes you. I am not going to sacrifice you for Layla” he said to her.“She would die. Are you okay with that?” Alice asked him.“Fine, do what you have to do. Get her back. If she can survive this, I am going to do everything in my power to make sure that you survive it too” her brother said to her.“That is the craziest thing that I have ever heard. She is going to die! If you let Alice do this, you are going to lose her, forever!” Jared yelled at the both of them.“She is Layla's only chance at this and I am going to make sure that she survives. Layla is weak. She isn't. I don’t have to remind you that Layla wouldn’t survive. She is a human being and she wouldn’t survive this!” Liam yelled at him.“And you think that Alice will? Because she is a white wolf? You have to be kidding me. She is at her weakest form. She would die if you let her do this and you know this already. Why wont you stop

“What are you doing? You cant stop now. You have to go on with this. We are almost there” Alice said to her.“No, we are not almost there. This is killing you. Look at yourself. You would die if I keep at this. I need to find another way. I just need a little time to think of another way” Louis said to her.“We don’t have time. Every second we spend thinking and stopping, every second she slips away. I will not come this far just to watch her die. All of what I have endured would be for nothing. Go on, I can handle it” Alice said to her. “No, you cant!” Louis yelled back at her.“Yes I can” she said back to Louis.“No, you cant” her brother said.“What do you mean by I cant? This is my decision to make and I chose this. I want to continue with this. I am not stopping now” she said to her brother. “Alice, we can always find another way. You know this. There is always a loophole when it comes to things like this. Dying is not the way to go about this. If you die, then we have lost t

Louis stood there, looking at Jared, wondering what crazy idea he had in his head but she knew that he was the ruler of the crescent wolves and the alpha of the pack. There was no going back after this. He knew what they were up against but that wasn’t making her feel better about casting a spell that could kill Alice just because they wanted to save someone that was human. She wasn’t getting why this human was so important to their plans. She eventually gathered herself together and headed back to her house because she knew exactly where to get the spell from. Her mother’s spell book was filled with all kinds of spell and even though she had sworn that’s he was never going to open the pages of that book, she was at a cross road and the only thing that could help her now was the book that sent her on a very dark path. She sighed and she nodded at herself as she stood in front of the door. She eventually went in and she could tell that there was a presence there but it wasn’t one that

Alice, although a little bit skeptical took the tray carefully from him. He looked at her and his heart broke. All he wanted to do was hold her and let her know that she wasn’t alone in all of this but he couldn’t do that. He turned away from her and was about to leave the room when she spoke up. “Don’t leave. It is better with you here. I don’t want you to leave” she said to him. “I would excuse the both of you so you can talk” Liam said to them. She nodded at her brother and he walked out. Jared walked towards her and he looked at her. She looked into his eyes and she saw love in his eyes. She saw that he was scared and worried about her. She sat down, cross legged and he did the same. She offered him part of her food but he politely turned it down. “You need to eat all of it. You would need all of your strength for whatever is coming next” Jared said to her. “It is fine to be afraid, I am too” she said back to him. “Then why are you doing it? She is human and I know that this

Jared didn’t know what to do or say anymore. He looked at her lifeless body and tears welled up in his eyes. It was unreal, it was unbelievable. She was gone and he knew this. They heard a crash below them and they looked at each other. “I would go and check what that is” Liam said to them. “I would come with you” Louis said to him. “I am not going anywhere until she wakes up, nobody is going anywhere until she wakes up!” Jared said to them. Liam was about to speak when the crash came again and he looked at Jared. “Fine. Liam, you check it out. Louis, stay here and finish up with Layla. When you are done, we are going to find a way to get Alice back and nobody leaves this house until she is alive and safe!” Jared said to them. Liam nodded at him and went down to the basement of the house. Louis wasn’t in support of it because she knew that it was Laura. She had murdered Alice just to bring Laura back and now, she was hoping that Laura was going to be able to save her and get her

Jared woke up with a throbbing headache. He touched his head and he realized that he was in his human form. He remembered wrestling with whatever beast was in his basement and the beast flying away with him. He had done a lot of damage to it before Jared eventually fell off its back but that was all he could remember. It was like the rest of what happened had gone missing from his memories. He looked around and saw Xavier tied to a chair. He had so many questions. “Xavi!” Jared called out. “Oh, that would be of no use. He can’t hear you. His mind his very far from his body right now” Doris said as she walked out from the shadows and walked up to him. “Let him go!” Jared screamed at her. “And why would I do that? You don’t still see it, do you? You are in no position to make demands or give orders. You have lost this war, Jared. Give us what we want and he would walk out of here, alive. If you stand against us, I can’t guarantee anybody walking out of here alive. The choice is your

After trying for minutes and she realized that she couldn’t send Jared there, her world broke. She knew that she was going to need her sister. She needed Louis. She sighed and she tuned around. She saw her standing there. “How did you get out of that room?” Laura asked her. “She didn’t, I did. I know that you do not trust me, I understand that but right now, we need to put our differences aside and fix things. We need to put our conflict aside if you want to get Alice back. Louis can perform the spell that you require of her. Let her do it” Zoe said to her. “Why is she speaking about herself in third person?” Xavier whispered. “Because that is not Louis. That is an entirely different being. That is not my sister and I do not trust her to handle this. I have never trusted her and I wouldn’t make that mistake now” Laura said to her. “I didn’t say that I was going to be the one to cast the spell. I am going to give this body back to its rightful owner because I taught her well enoug

Whether it was the right thing or not, she knew that it was too late to ask questions now. She had started this without her sister and that was exactly how she planned on finishing it. There was no going back now. She just hoped that this action wasn’t going to push her sister down the dark path. She sighed as she drove silently, on her way to get the blade that was going to put all of this insanity to an end. This was going to be the last time that she was going to have to deal with Doris. Never again. She was going to remove Doris from the picture and lead the coven in the right way. This was going to be the way to unite all of the witches of the Quarter. With Jared backing her up, it was going to be an easy task. With the help of Xavier, she was ready to face the world and with her sister by her side, it was going to be a piece of cake. All she had to do right now was just find te blade. Hopefully, it was right where she remembered leaving it. She needed to have this day easy. She

“Well, I guess we just have to hope and pray that she wins this. We have been through so much just to die in the end” Liam said to them. “I don’t care about what you say. Alice knows and understands what is at stake and she knows better than to let Doris win this. Besides, it is the prophecy” Jared said to them. “Prophecies can change. The real question is this. Can she do what is necessary make sure that the prophecy comes to pass?” Liam asked him. “Now is the wrong time to be doubting the abilities of someone that killed herself just so you can get your wife back! She would do what she needs to be done. You are in no position to question her abilities and her capabilities. There would be consequences of that action. That, I can promise you” Jared said to him, his eyes glowing. “Alright, why don’t we all calm down?” Louis said as she walked quietly into the room. “Louis!” Laura exclaimed. “I know, I am just as surprised to be alive as much as you are but we do not have time. “That wouldn’t be necessary. I was always here, camouflaged with the dark for a reason. We need to get you out of here” Laura said, walking out of one of the dark corners of the place. “How is this even possible?” Alice asked her. “We don’t have time to explain but when we do, I promise that I will explain to you at length but right now, we need to focus on the important questions like why the hell did you not try to make a deal to reach out to the outside world so that we can bring you home?” Laura asked her. “Because you can’t bring me home. Louis killing me for Layla was something that Doris saw happening. I don’t know how she did but she foresaw it and she tied me here using the blood that she got from me and my unborn baby. This entire place is created to keep me captive. There is no going home of for me. This is home now so just quit trying to bring me back. It is totally hopeless” she said to them. “That is insane. You don’t deserve this. This is not how your story is suppo

Laura looked at Jared and she could see the last piece of hope and faith he had in his eyes. He needed her back and she knew this too. She knew that there was no way he was going to win this without her by his side. She said a silent but quick prayer to the moon goddess, asking for success this was her home and she was going to be devastated if she has to let it go. She started her spell and dropped on the floor. Jared was going to step into the circle when Liam stopped him. “No, trust her. She knows what she is doing. I trust her and you should too” he said to her. Jared looked at him and he nodded at him. He had no choice. They had tried too many different ways to get her back and if this didn’t work, if Laura couldn’t get her back then nobody could. If this didn’t work, he was going to ask that a witch embalm her body and preserve it so that he could wander around until he found somebody that could bring her back. He wasn’t going to give up on her and he wasn’t going to stop unti

“Xavier!!” she called out to him. He was as irresponsive as the first three times she had called out to him. Until he heard her or recognized her presence, he wasn’t going to be able to see her or feel her. She needed a way to get to him and she needed to do it fast. She could feel the rumbling of whatever universe they were in. it was coming down. The realm was closing in on them and they were about to be stuck in it forever. “He cannot hear you or see you. I think you should use your magic to pull him out of there” she heard Zoe say. “That would fracture his mind! I wouldn’t do that” she said to her. “Tick tock. Time wait s for no wolf, or no witch in this case. What do you want to do? Stay stuck here forever? You can’t do that! You need to get us out of here before the place comes down on us” Zoe said to her. “Xavi, I know you can hear me. I know that you are still in there. I need you to focus, I need you to look at me. She opened her eyes and turned to look at Alice, still laying lifeless on the floor. Her heart sank. She closed her eyes, trying to quiet the world around her and retrace her steps but that was a mistake because immediately she closed her eyes, she felt her presence. Zoe, she had come along with her. Louis walked up to Alice and touched her. Her body felt cold and she turned around to look at Liam who was staring at her. “Where is Alice? Why didn’t you bring her back?” Liam asked her. “I don’t know what happened, she should be back by now. I found her, I traded my freedom for her soul. She should have come back with me!” Louis said to him, confused as ever. The front door flung opened and they both gasped. Doris stood in front of them and Louis stood up. She waved her hand in the air and that sent Doris flying across the hall way. “The boundary spell is down. I don’t know how she managed to pull it down but this is our fight now. I would take care of her. You would get Alice and r

Liam looked at her, not sure of what decision to make. There was no way they were getting out of this alive and he knew this. He said a quiet prater to the moon goddess if she was listening and he looked at Louis. He saw that she was staring at him, waiting for a response. “Your major focus should be on my sister and my wife. Make sure that they wake up. We need them, whether we are willing to admit it or not. Having them here would definitely even the playing field. That should be your only concern right now” he said to her. “What happens to Doris then?” she asked him. “Let me worry about her. I would take care of her but no matter what happens, make sure that she doesn’t get to Alice. She must not get to her” Liam said to her. She looked at him and she could see the fear in his eyes but she knew that he was right and that was the only way. She had been working on a way to reverse the spell or at least make a potion to counter it. She needed to act fast, she needed to work fast.

“I am here. I am not going to leave you or Xavier here so that you can be slaughtered. She has a reason for keeping the both of you here, alive. If she gets back here, she is coming to finish up what she has already started. My sister and Liam would make sure that Doris doesn’t get to Alice’s body. I am going to make sure that she doesn’t have a backup spell that she can cast just in case her first plan does not pull through” Laura said to him. “You need to listen to me. She has this new pet. It is some sort of creature that she managed to pull out of its cage in the ancestral world and that beast has a very nice way of carrying out all of her orders. Your sister and Liam do not stand a chance against that beast. You need to go back to the house so that you can help them” he said back to her. “Look, I just came back from the dead, thanks to my sister.
