CHAPTER ELEVEN: Maureen Mayor is a mystery

Jack's Pov

I couldn't sleep throughout last night, my thoughts were all about my sister and I wonder where she might be with her present state.

I have informed my personal security guard, Logan to make a through search for my sister and I strictly warn him he will loose his job if he fail to give me a positive response soon.

My wall clock says 8:32am and i was on bed.

I couldn't help but worry about Maureen and her unborn child.

I didn't make any move of getting out of bed as I await Logan's call.

Jillian's pov

Despite not having a good night rest I was forced to wake up early for my rehearsal.

It's a Bright day and the weather is nice.

Perfect day for driving I thought to myself as I get into the car.

It is nearly noon and I haven't call my dad.

I was on my way to yet another schedule. 

I brought out my cellphone and  call my dad.

He answered almost immediately.

" Hello baby " He said and I laugh.

Calling me baby is sweet until I got a man of my own.

I wonder how he will react if he heard my dad Calling me that.

Well, it's a pet name and most people knows how daring my dad loves me.

" Hello Daddy, how are you? " I asked him and he replied saying everything is going well that I shouldn't worry.

I asked about Maureen.

" She said she needed some drugs and she's out to buy them. She's safe, I followed her " 

I sigh in relieve , I don't want to imagine what Zach might do if he sees her again.

" That's understandable. I think she needs to take care of herself " I added.

" My schedule is full today so I won't be visiting. " I said silently hoping he won't freak out.

" That's okay Jilly. Be safe alright " 

" I will and if anything comes up call me immediately " I said to him.

We exchange goodbyes and love you before I hung up.

I sign heavily from the back seat.

I look at han who's driving.

" Are you okay? " I asked him.

He nodded and continue driving.

" Do you have any family ? " I asked out of nowhere.

I scolded myself for asking that question. Well it's harmless to know more about him.

Mike is the one who appointed him to me as my chauffeur and he's never a talkative.

Expect the day he mentioned he's an ex soldier.

He look at me through the visor briefly before focusing on the road.

" I am an orphan " he replied quietly.

I gasped from the back in surprise.

" Mr mike offer me to be your chauffeur after i retired." He said 

" Yeah " i replied in a low tone, feeling bad for him.

" But how come you retired so young ?" I asked curiously and he was about to reply when my cell phone buzz.

I groan and check the caller.

It's my dad. 

Why's he calling again when i just spoke to him about half an hour ago? 

I asked myself.

Nevertheless i picked the call and i heard his voice quivering.

I cocked up an eyebrow in confusion.

" What's going on dad, you sound not too well " 

" You have to come Jilly, Maureen pass out " he replied urgently and i felt my hand vibrated as i heard him.

Pass out? Maureen? No no, he's mistaken.

" You mean Maureen mayor? " I asked again to be sure in a shaky voice.

" Yes, should i call Joan? " I heard him ask.

His voice sounds so urgent.

" Yes, please do and quickly. If anything happens to her i swear to God Jack won't let us walk freely, I'm on my way."

I hang up and message Joan in case my dad won't hurry. 

He was my class mate in highschool.

He's been my doctor since i became famous.

I wouldn't like to visit any hospital whenever i get sick to avoid any rumours so i hired doctor Joan to take care of me or my dad whenever we are not feeling well and he has been very excited to be my doctor.

He called me almost immediately and i quickly brief him about what happened and he promised to make haste and check on Maureen. 

We agreed to meet up in my dad's house and i hang up.

" My dad's place han " i said to him my voice breaking.

As usual han nodded and says nothing as he took a turn and headed to my dad's speedily.

Jack's Pov

" You mean what you just said " i asked Logan and he replied on the other end.

" Yes sir, i confirmed it. She paid for some drugs with her credit card. I get to the drugstore and i was told she came with a man. " 

I frown my face.

Drugs ?? What did she need drugs for?

I thought pregnant women don't use drugs. Or wait ! Did she wants to abort the pregnancy ? .

She went to a store with a man ? 

Series of questions roam about in my head.

" Did you get where she's staying ? " I asked Logan as i cleared my head.

" Yes sir. I will send you the address " 

" Yes, do that. " I told him before grabbing my car key.

" Should i go with you ? " He asked.

" No, she's my sister. I will go alone " i said to him and hang up.

I walk briskly to the kitchen but didn't see Laura.

I sighed , I couldn't blame her.

Since Maureen has left the house she hasn't been herself.

I walk to my car and sat behind the wheel , just then i received the message from Logan. He has sent the address.

I look ahead thinking.

Okay find, i admit it.

I'm greatly worried about my sister. I hope she didn't do something stupid with her pregnancy.

I have think it through, getting mad at her won't change what has happened but will only make her scared of me and that isn't what i wanted.

I will surely go easy on her, i exhaled and pray i didn't flare up or yell at her this time.

But come to think of it, who's the man she is with? I asked myself.

I started the car and clenched my teeth.

I think almost everything about Maureen mayor is a mystery.
