CHAPTER TEN: Warning or threat?

Maureen walk into the living room wearing one of my comfy long dress.

I smile up at her and she smile back.

" We have to go Maureen , i mean han and I " I said.

She nodded in response. My father comes in a moment later announcing that the dinner will be ready in a moment.

" I can't wait for dinner dad, i had to go back. " i said to him.

He regard me with sad face and i look away guilty.

" I had to go back, my manager just call that Zach's waiting for me. " i explained wishing that could ease his pain of seeing me leave sooner.

" More reason for you to stay Jillian. You can't go to that evil man , he must want to shut you up Because you caught him in his evil act. Don't you think it's dangerous to face him while he's still mad. " He replied helplessly.

I smile at him reassuringly.

" I will be fine , I will be back sooner as I can. " I said giving him a hug.

" Be free with my dad. He isn't a bad person " I said to Maureen smiling.

She gave me a hug and thank both me and han for our help.

Both Maureen and my dad saw me and han off to my car.

Han drove off immediately as he sat behind the wheel.

I sat beside him, I stare at his lips briefly.

I'm grateful his cut isn't a major one.

And since I have gotten the first aid treatment for it I'm sure he will be fine.

After a long silent drive han finally pull into my garage.

One out of the many houses I own.

I alighted from the car and I look around to see Zach's car as well.

Larry rush down to meet me.

" Are you okay ? " he asked and I nodded.

" What's wrong ? " I asked him.

He was about to answer when Zach emerges from his car.

I could hear han's breath behind me.

Zach approach me and try to touch me.

I wave away his hand disgustingly.

" Do no touch me, you freak " I yell at him.

He appear to be very sorry and he look calm and apologetic. 

" I don't ever want to see you again , you hear me ? " I told him calmly.

He blink slowly as he heard what i said.

" Jilly i swear i can explain all about what happened. It's just a misunderstanding " 

" misunderstanding?" I asked with cold voice and he flinch.

I continue " So you call strangling Maureen Mayor a misunderstanding? " I scoffed at his excuse and i heard a gasp from larry.

" I'm not sure her brother will understand the misunderstanding "

" Don't get into it , it's not your fight jilly " He said concernly and i admitted i was scared because his expression told me he meant what he said. " It's a dangerous battle, don't get involved. " 

I step back almost loosing my balance but han caught me before i fell. 

" Is that a warning or a threat ? " I asked with a low firm voice.

" Consider it an advice from your sponsor " 

" Your dad is my sponsor and not you. You get that or should I explain further ? " I says to him. I wonder where I am getting the confidence from , probably because the image of him strangling Maureen Mayor hasn't left me.

" You Know better than anyone else that once my dad is dead I will be your sponsor " He replied innocently. 

I wave away his word with my hand.

" Thank God the CEO of Claw foot club is alive and well. To think I will let a ruthless murderer sponsor my career is out of question " I said and tried to walk away but he held my hand stopping me.

I tried to yank him off but he's too powerful, han was about to Intervene when I held up my other hand to stop him.

" You do not know the full story so keep quiet . " Zach told me as he became angry suddenly.

I withdraw my hand successfully from him and walk into the house.

Han and larry behind me.

I sat heavily on the couch as I step into the living room.

I heard Zach drove off and I hang down my head in sadness.

" what's going on Jilly ? " I heard Lorie asked.

I could hear the trembling in her voice and I look at her and smile trying not to cause any uneasiness.

" Everything is fine, we just had a fight " I said to her.

Diana stare at me and then han's lips.

" It's a serious fight then, judging by the way you look as white as sheet " She added.

I sign and look at Larry, Diana and Lorie who obviously want to know what's going on but I'm not going to explain tonight.

I have to relax and i know fully well that han won't tell them anything. I know it's been a long night but i have this hunch that tomorrow will be longer.

" I'm going to bed " i announced and walk away to my bedroom.

I prepare for bed and held my cellphone.

I called my dad to check on him and Maureen and he says she's sleeping soundly in my room.

He advise me to be careful around Zach and made me promise to check on him as soon as possible.

I hang up and call my sponsor as well.

He answer the phone after the second ring.

" Jillian my dear, how are you ? " He said sounding as happy as always.

" I'm fine sir, how have you been ? " I asked.

" I have been well, busy though. We got a new season coming in and your shooting for our new products is around the corner. " He replied lightly.

" Yes sir, i just wanted to check on you. I'm very glad you're healthy. " I told him honestly.

He laughs " No worries, don't stress too much. Do you always hear from your dad ? " He ask me.

" Yes sir, i saw him today " 

" Really ? Out of your busy schedule. Okay dear my regards to him."

" Yes sir, bye " 

" Bye and be safe " He said and hung up.

Okay here's it, i don't think Zach has tell anything to his dad about what has taken place tonight.

Well, it's sure a ugly incident. I wouldn't have tell anyone if i am in his shoe.

I lay down on my bed and sighed.

I'm excited the CEO, my sponsor of claw foot club is still as healthy as always.

If anything, I don't want anything bad to happen to him for now.

For years of modelling for his company i know he isn't evil at any point except the part when he inherit mayor's property.

Unlike his son Zach who's ready to strangle a lady without caring about the consequences.

I tried to sleep but i couldn't.

Too many thoughts and too many things happening.

It was almost dawn before i fell into a deep slumber.
