Audrey:
Last day of high school is always that dramatic time of the year. I sighed as I stared at the kids giggling because they've got awesome after school plans, bucket list completed, pictures with people they cared about and wanted to remember.
I scrunched my nose as I noticed the blue haired girl toss confetti in the air and the whole class erupted in cheers. Another kid with brown hair walked in with a big cake and kids followed behind her with drinks and desserts. Today was definitely going to be a big one. No doubt, there was going to be a lot of after school plans, parties are definitely a must.
"Hey Lloyd, care for?" My eyes rose to meet red ones. I could tell they were contacts. His black hair swept across his face, covering half of this right eye. His nails clad in black nail polish wrapped around the can he was handing me.
I nodded, and collected the can of soda. I didn't want to be a debbie downer and say no. I dropped the can on my table and stared at the clock. Just thirty more minutes and school will be over.
"All right, everyone have a seat." Everyone sat there asses down as Miss Gonzalez, our Spanish teacher snapped everyone out of their excitement. "I know today, a lot of you want to run wild and I really don't want to stand on your madness. I'm just here to tender a farewell speech. It really was nice teaching you guys. I'm going to share the scripts from the exam. Congratulations, you all passed my class. I really wish you guys luck in college. Be good kids alright?" She said as Kenzie walked table by table, dropping scripts on them as she passed.
"Thanks Teach, you weren't so bad either." A guy from the back said.
"Thanks Axel. I'd be leaving now. Don't break down the class please." Her thick Spanish accented voice pleaded as she walked out."Alright, let the party begin..." A kid with a red gaze cap worn backwards hollered.
This was going to be a very long thirty minutes.
I couldn't help but quickly grab my bag and head for the door as soon as the bell went off. I just wanted to have my own space to reflect. High school had been quite the effortless struggle for me. Surely I've been in detention quite a lot and cafeteria food fights but I never had a bad grade. I wasn't a wallflower and I was proud. Popular to an extent? Yes. Bullied? Who dares? Kids at my school were quite chill, so there weren't much cases of bullying.
I got on my skateboard and raced to the pizzeria. I wanted to get a large pepperoni and cheese pizza. I heard a ding and took out my phone. I had a message notification from Bentley, the basketball team star:
Hey Chica, party at my place by 7pm. Parents aren't in town. Everyone at school would be there. Wanna come? Please say yes.
I chuckled at the smiley face. Bentley always was a cool kid and the fact that he became the team basketball star player wasn't a surprise. He always was good with the ball. We've been childhood friends so there was no fan-girling here.
I texted back:
I don't know, I've got a big shift at the restaurant tonight. My co-workers are calling in sick and it might just be me and Asher handling today's night shift.
He knew Asher. Thinking about it, who wouldn't. He was the cool British kid that got along with everyone and in a lot of girl's pants too.
A minute later and Bentley sent in his reply:
Cancel babygirl. At least for me. Por favor?
I laughed at his use of the puppy dogs eyes emoji. But I knew I wasn't going to come. I loved parties to an extent but tonight just wasn't in my schedule.
Afraid you'd get drunk and finally get laid?
My eyes widened at the next text Bentley sent. Of course he knew though I wasn't a socially awkward kid, I avoided all things sex. I didn't want no push and pull yet.
I replied:
Fuck off Bettle. I've got work and I really can't bail and don't bother crashing my workplace, I'm not coming with you!
Barely a second after sending it, he replied:
You really wound me chica. I'm sad.
I decided to give up on replying him because he never knew when to give up and it actually worked for him, because he got a lot of things. I sighed, putting my phone in my front pocket so that I can concentrate on steering my skateboard away from possible death.
"Hey Martin." I greeted as I shuffled my feet into the pizzeria. I was pleased at the interior decoration. It was white walls with grey designs. A beautiful aesthetic setting if you asked me.
"Hey Audri. Loving the new design?" He smirked at me, his classic boyish smile. He was a college kid who worked his uncle's place part time and I couldn't deny him being handsome. His green eyes to his pink lips, red hair and eye brow piercing. A simple ring clad index finger and his other index finger in a black ring, long lashes and a bandaid on the bridge of his nose. He probably got into a fight or something.
"I heard you guys got the place renovated and believe me, this is way better and so beautiful than the basic yellow theme Terry had here." I remarked."Thank me. Terrz is out of town and he said I could do whatever I wanted with the place, as long as I'm not shutting down his business, turning it to a kid's party zone or getting the cops at his place." He shrugged, his broad shoulders slumping as he placed his hands down on the cash register, clasping them as he leaned in, "creative aren't I?" He asked, running his eyes over the aesthetic master piece."Indeed you are, Terry will be glad." I smacked his biscep as I walked to the sofa machine. "Your idea too?" I asked pointing at it."Totally. I finally did something for the old man. It's a thank you for well, being there for me." He mumbled, trying to shrug it off and not get emotional.Martin and I have been friends for a while, he was in his senior years of high school when I got in. He was one of those cool kids that got into trouble a lot, fights included. He didn't have parents, his legal guardian was his mom's younger brother, Terry. Though Martin didn't say it much, but he cared about him deeply and when he got into college, he took lots of job to lessen the burden on Terry as he already had four kids also, in college. The last one, Kelsie was my mate in high school. And she was a good lad.
"Didn't these go past your budget?" I asked getting worried.
"Nah..." he waved it off with his hand, "I've been meaning to do this for a while, so I saved for it differently. Besides, it didn't cost much once I sold my motorcycle." He rubbed his neck as he chucked nervously."You what? You promised me a ride but now you've sold it." I fake glared at him. I couldn't be mad at him, he did it for Terry and I was super proud of him. Though kinda concerned about how he'd be shuffling about his routine now he was without a ride."Don't worry, I got some part time summer jobs. I'd buy a new one in no time and I promise you'd be the first person I'd give a ride on it. Besides, what are skateboards for?" He smiled at me.I smiled at his cute boyishness. He really was a good guy.
"So I want a large pepperoni and cheese pizza." I stated my order as he tied his apron and put on a hair net."On it chief." He threw me a salute and got to work.I took a seat and dug out my phone. I might keep myself busy while I wait. Speaking of jobs, I needed one. I actually wanted to get a motorcycle. Riding a skateboard around in college would be a little weird.
"Martin...""Yo." He answered from the counter."Got any idea about more part time summer jobs that pay good?" I asked."Why? Want one?" He asked."Yeah. The restaurant and cinema ain't cutting it good no more." I said."Don't over work yourself Audri." He said back."Look who's talking." I retorted with an eye roll."Fine. Well, the local pool is looking for another extra lifeguard. I already filled up the first slot and since you're an excellent swimmer, you should take the second slot. Pay is good too." He added."Cool. When do they start?" I asked."Um... Tomorrow. But I could take you there first thing tomorrow so you'd talk with the guy in charge before people start coming in. Is it good with you?""Yeah thanks. I'd be here by 8am tomorrow morning." I said."Fuck, you're one early bird." I expected the reply from him.I added a memo about the pool to my list of things to do tomorrow. I kept a memo of my plans, that way I don't forget. My phone beeps and I already knew who it was.
"Asher, I'm coming already and no, I didn't forget the pizza. Just give me a minute or five... I'd be there." I rolled my eyes at his dramatic rants."You better not ditch me for the big party. It's already bad enough that Tasha and Cole called in sick but I knew they lying. Those snitches, faked it because of the party." He informed me. But I wasn't surprised, I saw it coming."I won't bail on you. I promise. Besides, you can't handle an entire shift by yourself." I reminded him."Just don't bail on me and hurry up, my stomach is beginning to sound like an erupting volcano." He ended the call, leaving me to burst into laughter.Well, so far, I loved my life big time. It wasn't the best but it wasn't so bad either.
Audrey: My back ached and that was heavily proven by the soreness of my muscles as my back hit the bed. Yesterday was rough as heck. I never expected us to have had so many customers in one night. Asher tripped his plates twice, delivered the wrong orders more times than I could count and nearly lost his cool a lot. I had to apologise frequently for him and his wild cursing when it hit him wrong and hard. We had closed late and since Asher's place was quite far and his car broke down, I invited him to pass the rest of the night at my place. And he couldn't have been more grateful since I spared him the thought of walking the lone street home late in the night. I heard a thud and behold was Asher passed out on my floor with his front to the ground. He didn't even take off his coat or shoes. Well, who am I to judge him, neither did I. I yawned as my eyes craved to be shut, sleep was very well knocking on my door but I knew better to set my alarm before gi
Enzo: I sighed as I sat on the stool by the counter, spreading peanut butter on my bread and biting into it. I had a sting from waking up again to an empty house. The maid hasn't called in yet and the butler had taken a leave yesterday. Apparently his wife was sick. I had to permit him. I poured myself a glass of cold orange juice and drank it up. I have gotten to used to fending for myself since my parents are never, ever around. Cooking for myself and ruling myself were my speciality. I was hungover from the drinks last night. I knew I shouldn't have taken them but something had to put me out of my misery. My sad reality was today being my birthday and my parents haven't called to wish me or at least send a gift like they usually do. It was as if the older I got, the less they thought about me. I was born in luxury, my parents made sure I had more than enough. I have a sister but she's married now. I hated it when she got engaged and I hated her fiance because I knew he was going
Enzo: Unlike how Bentley's place had turned out after the party, my place was clean. The guys made sure to clean up after themselves. At least my threat worked because my furniture and decorations were still intact. "Goodmorning sir." The cleaner Tabitha said with a smile. She was young, probably in her early twenties and undeniably beautiful. The countless times my hormones were acting out, it took great self-control to keep my hands to myself. I smiled as I recalled the day I made her drink with me. We had both gotten drunk and her professionalism was kept aside. We ended up sharing a kiss but that was as far as it went. It took a miracle for nothing to happen between us. And I'm sure that experience is something we'd both like to forget. "Morning Tabitha." My groggy voice came as I yawned."I reckon the place was alive yesterday." From her implying tone, I knew she knew about the party. Not that I was trying to hide it."Surprise birthday party from my friends. It was really thou
Audrey:The past few weeks have been hell for me. I barely had enough time for myself as my part time jobs were taking up almost all of them. I hang out with Martin while we are at the pool, working as life guards but other than that, I rarely get to see him.I do visit the library once in a while to get a head start on college work. I really wanted to put in a good effort once I get accepted. Martin being a Microbiology student, did help me out from time to time when he was done with his shift and I was on mine.I had applied to Stanford because I knew my CGPA would be good. I always was a straight 'A' student. And taking Spanish as my elective was a bonus for me."Hey Audri." I snapped out of my thoughts to find Martin sitting on my bed. Who let him in?"Martin? You're here? How?" I asked, trying to stifle a yawn.He simply pointed at my tree and wind
Audrey:Summer vacation was fun while it lasted and like Daniel said, Stanford acceptance came out early. It really was a long and anxious waiting game and in case I didn't get in, I had university of San Francisco to back me up.Asher and I had sat in sever anxiety the night when Bentley texted that he's gotten accepted into Stanford University for the medical science and urged us to check our emails. Daniel texted next into getting accepted for the same course and so did Luca. Carter had decided to go to Stanford with his friends but under a different course, Biomedical Engineering. He claimed he couldn't handle pursuing a doctorate degree and I understood him. Everyone should go for what they can handle.Everyone had all checked theirs except I and Asher. Martin had even called to inform me about the admissions being handed out to those eligible and I had told him I was aware. He asked if I had gotten in but I told him I hadn't checked yet. My heart was
Enzo: My head was all over the place as my preparation for college had me neck deep. And as an athlete, I had a lot more forms to fill and things to do. I had gotten my room in the student athlete's apartment, and registered myself to be able to earn through playing basketball. I know it's a lot for me but staying at the apartment in Mirrielees was beneficial was us athletes because the coaches would be able to keep proper tabs on us. And I was pursuing a higher degree but by being an average Stanford Athletics, I had a flexible schedule to accommodate both my sports and my studies. I just had to balance both times equally. I couldn't let sports cut in too much into my study time. Rebecca came down with her kids to help me prepare for college. Her husband came but he left two days after. My mother was around but my dad left roughly three days later. He had an important business trip. But at least I was grateful that he graced me with his presence before
Audrey:Settling down in college was not an easy task. Everything was entirely different from high school and more advanced. Finding my way around was hell as I always found a way of getting lost. I got late a few times to my classes but after a month, I kinda got a hang of the environment. My parents called once in a while to check up on me and how I was coping. Mum had accompanied me to Redwood city to help get me settled but she left three days later.I had very well completed my registrations for my required classes and gotten the names of a few of my teachers handling my classes.Of all my classes so far, Anatomy was my favourite. Physiology wasn't so bad but histology was a pain the ass. I had to spend extra hours visiting a library just to keep my understanding up to date.I sighed as I walked into t
Audrey: My attention was dedicated to the woman standing infront of the class, teaching. It was more of an interactive session as she urged students to voice out their opinions and she'd shed more light on it. I was able to jot down a lot because I understood quite well. Funny how I had researched on this topic but didn't understand it as much as I did now. My eyes shifted to the boy sitting beside me. He had an elbow propped on the desk to support his head as he occasionally twirled the pen in his hands or tapped it against his notebook. His brows would furrow every now and then, and he'd write something constructive on his notebook. I saw his hands move coordinatedly against the book and I immediately got curious. He pouted his lips, carrying half his attention on what he was writing and what the professor was saying.
Hey lovelies, thank you all for giving this book a chance. I'm sorry for slow updates. Honestly, the reason things have been slow for me is mainly because I'm now in Nursing school so I have less time to write now. Also, I've been properly editing and rewriting this very story as I plan to do with others. I have better equipments now so less typos for everyone, 'cause honestly that stuff is very embarrassing. All in all, to everyone that gave this book a read and contributed to it, I'm really grateful. It means so much to me. Thanks for the support, you guys don't know how much it helps with anxiety and depression. ❤❤
Audrey:I was speechless, standing frozen to the ground. My mouth ran dry as my eyes slowly left Asher's tensed figure to land on the slender beauty that stood staring at me with a very coy smile. Everything about her spelt dangerous, her aura had a certain kind of cool chill and draw. Better put, if she was a drug, she'd be one of those drugs the doctor would tell you would give you euphoria and get you addicted, but is very dangerous to your health.I didn't doubt why Enzo would have ever been attracted to her. She had a magnetic pull, she was pretty and her voice was seductive without effort. Suddenly my heart slowly began pounding in my chest. I didn't know why I was feeling like this, she was his Ex. They aren't together anymore. But then, a small very wicked voice was slithering vile words into my head. Why was she back? Was Enzo aware? If he knew, Asher wouldn't have been as shocked and perplexed as he was now because Enzo would have told him. Bullshit! Kimora was back, Bentley
Audrey: "Get your ass out of that bed right now Audrey." I groaned as Asher kept tugging on my leg in an attempt to pull me out of the bed. I was freaking tired. I stood for three hours in a miserable practical session and let me just tell you that it was awful. My whole legs were stiff and numb and my back aching. My hair was a mess from the constant whipping of my neck around and loosening of my rubber band when my head began to throb. Honestly, considering the fact that Asher and I were in the same group, I was seriously wondering how he still had the energy to try to get me out of bed and the stamina to still stand. "I'm fucking tired Asher." I groaned out in my most hoarse voice, which was not my fault because I was tired. Have I said that before?"Tired, smired. Get your ass out of that bed young lady. The game is in an hour and you promised Bent you'd be there. Also, let's not forget the fact that you'd also want to see someone else." His tone was suggestive and that did the
Enzo:"So officially Mr Larson is off my great understanding chart..." I strolled past Daniel with a can of soda in my hands, who seemed to be doing a double check on the contents packed into his backpack. "that man kept raging on and on about haemoglobin and it's use in the body, moving the pictures on the slideshow indecisively— from big zoom to normal again. I swear by the time an hour was over, my eyes were begging for mercy and my head throbbing. I don't know what made him like that this week, but it's either the topics really get to him or, he's just going through a phase." He sighed in exasperation, rubbing the pad of his index fingers on the sides of his head.I tapped away on my phone, forgetting the fact that I had company and he seemed to be talking to me."Dude... You weren't listening were you?" Daniel deadpanned, cocking a brow at the obvious. He cast his eyes down to catch a peek at the phone in my hands. I sat, tapping the bottom side of the phone against my thigh, ack
Enzo:My eyes fluttered open and my hands went to run my fingers through my hair. I turned to the little human snuggling into me. Her arms wrapped around my torso, her legs intertwined with mine, her knee brushing across my member. Her brown locks were sprawled across her face, strands slipping into her slightly parted lips.I felt warmth crawl into my heart as I kept staring at her with admiration, care, amusement and love. She fit so much into my arms. It's been a while since I've felt like this, since I've woken up like this, with so much emotion. I felt at peace whenever I was with her. She was a bundle of cuteness. Conversations with her were always the best, I always looked forward to them.I pulled her closer, hearing her moan in her sleep and shift. I stifled a chuckle, wanting not to wake her up. I brought my hands to her face, lightly brushing her wild strands from her face. I have never felt like this since after her. I willed my mind to leave the dreaded memories and focus
Audrey:A deep sound at the back of his throat, erupted an excited moan from me. My heart was beating twice as fast as his lips moved against mine. His mouth swallowed my gasp and used it as an opportunity to gain more access into my mouth. His tongue fought for dominance against mine and at that moment, all my rationality and principles flew out of the fucking window. My body melted into his like butter under intense heat. I couldn't resist it anymore, I traced my hands from his face and finally entangled them in his dark curls. I was right, they were soft and smelled like him, like Vanilla. His hands sneaking to my waist and snaking themselves around it, he hoisted me up and settled me on his thighs. His fingers tightened it's grip around me, digging into my waist. His breathing growing slower, harder and more furious. He let a throaty groan escape his throat when I accidentally bit his lower lip. "Fuck!" He breathed, pulling me even closer."Sorry." I whispered shyly, peeking at hi
Audrey:"Oh my God, did he just hack Arnie in the head with that axe?" I exclaimed in horror, chewing my popcorn slowly. "And now he's heading for Cindy and Alice. Shit, I can't watch." I made to cover my eyes with my palms but Enzo grabbed my hands, a chuckle reverberating from his chest."Relax Ad, it's just a movie." "A movie where two girls are about to get hacked to death by a guy who just got sacrificed to the devil, and is now his lackey. No thank you." I deadpanned, about to resume covering my eyes when his big hand seized both my hands again."No way, you're watching every clip to the end." He said to me.I brought my eyes to the TV and sighed when the girls were safe but then panic emitted inside me when I searched the screen for the newly turned killer and he wasn't anywhere in sight. "Shit! Where did tommy go?" "He uh, left them and went into the camp." I looked up at Enzo and I could see he was wondering if answering me was a good idea."Alright, at this juncture, I say
Audrey:I sat, tapping away on my phone. I was lying horizontally on my armchair, with my legs crossed on one arm and my head resting on the other arm. I placed a pillow on my tummy, resting my arms on it. I had my earphones plunged into my ear, blasting Stitches by Shawn Mendes. I loved that song; actually, I loved everything Shawn Mendes, ranging from his cute looks to his soul-searching voice.Asher was lying on my red fixed couch, smiling at his screen. He was texting Claire. He hasn't let go of that phone since the day began and it was already 7pm. I hated it whenever Asher was into someone, reasons why? Because, then, he'd have his whole attention stuck on her and let me tell you, when he's like that, any other thing happening around him, is definitely not having his attention. I removed my eyes from Asher with an eyeroll. This was a cringeworthy sight, but I was happy for him. He deserved to experience what an actual attraction felt like. He has had enough of flings, hookups a
Enzo:I dropped myself on my bed, with a refreshed look on my face. I picked up my phone from my nightstand, ready to go through my messages. Actually, I couldn't wait to text her. I hoped she didn't get freaked or something by what happened in the restroom. Did I come off as too much to her? I clicked my tongue dryly and unlocked my phone, entering my W******p and going through my messages. I stared at her Dm, wondering what I'm to send her. Should I apologise? Should I say hi? God this is difficult. Biting my lip in contemplation, I finally decided on what to text her:Hey, you home yet?I hoped she'd read it soon and reply me because I was dying of worry."You look bothered." Daniel said, stepping out of the bathroom with blue shorts on, wiping his wet hair with a towel.I turned to him, "I'm fine." I said with a shrug."Never said you weren't." He replied and I threw a glare his way. "Someone took an awful lot of time in the restroom." He said, hinting at something. I narrowed my
