Chapter 62: well, whatever

Larissa's viewpoint

I dropped the last bottle of wine in the giant cooler and looked at Lavender one more time. I felt terrible after throwing Jewels' Dad on the ground and giving him a bleeding nose. Luckily, I didn't break it. I apologized profusely and they said it was okay but I still felt guilty, especially after Jewels cried. They didn't say anything negative about my strength but that's just it, they didn't say anything about it making me feel even worse.

"It's alright, Risa, so stop worrying. Gael has taken countless punches and he survived, so relax," she said without looking at me.

"I know. I just feel guilty. I thought he'd be ready for anything but now I realize that was stupid. He's not my Dad who's always ready or my brother or Odette—"

"Larissa, please stop apologizing and take that cooler to the table. I'll be really grateful if Herculesette helped me carry that really heavy object," she looked over her shoulder and winked. I blushed sheepishly. "It's alright, dear. I'
