Syria’s plan
Vernon and Trina threw a lot of questions at me when I got home last night while Persuz was just quiet from the corner.
But who wouldn’t care and be intrigued to ask if you came home wearing a man’s clothes and no underwear other than a jacket?
“You seem to be thinking deeply, ah?” My mind seemed to get relax immediately. I turned to Trina who was wondering.
“Oh? I thought you left with them, Vernon?” I asked.
“I didn’t,” he said. “For sure they will hunt wild animals again and I prefer to wait for fresh blood.”
From the race of vampires where I grew up, there are only a few of them who do not drink human blood and Trina is one of them. That’s one reason why I don’t want to go back to Volter.
I can’t bear to see how they kill innocent people and how they spread vampirism. I believe that innocent people should not be affected by what the world I used to belong to has within.
I keep silent, my eyes returned to the outside of the window where there are large trees. Why do I still have that strange man in my mind? Why did I feel like that when my body bumped into him? Why am I weak?
I don’t know and I have no answer to find. Maybe it’s because I don’t know anything about being a werewolf?
“Tell me, what are you thinking?”
“A-ah! N-no, I just thought of something,” I lied. I just scratched my forehead slightly.
“Come on, Syrie, I know something happened,” she seemed to say definitely. I took a deep breath and faced her.
“What do you know about werewolves other than they can read others’ minds?” Trina frowned, wondering.
“Ahm,” she thought for a moment.
“Alpha and their group.”
“Alpha?”
“Yes. Alpha are ones of the strongest werewolves and are considered the leaders of the race of werewolves. They are the strongest among werewolves. They have more abilities than normal werewolves. They can hypnotize, can make you weak by the strong smell released by their hormones, or even shift into animals.
“I did not immediately grasp what I heard. I can’t believe there are such werewolves. Ever since I grew up, no one has told me stories about werewolves like me, not even the parents I recognized. I have fought werewolves and many have been killed but they are all weak.
“Alpha are much bigger than anyone,” she added.
Is he an Alpha?
If there are such groups of werewolves, where do I belong to them?
I still can’t believe that there is much more powerful than any werewolf. After all, in the race of vampires, there is also like that but that is because of their ability and influence and not because they were born naturally like that.
“Syrie!” I was taken aback when Trina’s scream suddenly rang out from outside the house.
I quickly ran towards her and was that shocked to see so many people outside. They are actually werewolves who seemed ready to transform and devour Trina. I quickly went to Trina and hide her behind me. They are many and we probably can’t handle them.
“What do you need?” I asked worriedly.
I saw how some in front stared at me as if they were persecuting me for a great sin.
“Werewolf,” said one man in a low voice, who was ahead of the bothers, with traces of wonderment on his face.
“Who are you all?” I asked again.
“Why are you protecting that vampire?” insisted the man.
“Because she’s my family and don’t you dare to do anything to her!” I boldly replied.
The man smiled as if sarcastically.
“You’re one of the apostates of the werewolf race. You’re a traitor,” he angrily scolded.
“You’re wrong, I’m not a traitor because even from the beginning, I didn’t belong to your race.”
“In that case, you will regret turning your back on the race of your origin. I will let you regret!”
I recoiled when the man in front of me suddenly turned into a werewolf. His fur is black and he has sharp fangs and nails. He was not normal like his companions who also became werewolves after him. He’s bigger than those.
“I’ll fight, Syrie,” Trina whispered behind me.
“But–“
“No! Syrie, I’ll fight! I won’t let you face them all alone.”
Trina rushed to show herself and quickly changed form. She became a vampire with sharp fangs and nails.
Creatures with brave faces who are ready to fight.
“Stop it!” A man shouted when the werewolves were about to attack. I was ready to change my appearance at that moment so that I could fight them but that happened.
The werewolves quickly backed away as if they were afraid of the man coming out of nowhere. He was facing the werewolves whose stance was familiar to me.
“If you don’t stop it, Etros, you’ll regret it,” threatened by a man with a familiar voice.
My forehead furrowed.
“Grrr!” the only answer of the arrogant wolf.
“And who are you?” I asked in wonderment.
I know he’s a werewolf but why did he suppress his fellow wolves?
I looked at Trina like I was wondering. She just shrugged.
The man slowly faced me who immediately widened my eyes.
“You?” I was startled.
“Yeah, it’s me again, Miss. Tell me if they did something bad to you,” he said seriously.
My forehead furrowed that the lines almost overlapped there.
“Huh?”
Instead of answering, the man confronted his relatives again.
“Go away,” the man commanded authoritatively and his relatives immediately obeyed.
“I’m so sorry, Miss they didn’t know what they are doing,” the man apologized.
I get serious. “Why are you apologizing? Isn’t it still in your favor in case they kill us?” I asked sarcastically.
The man simply smiled and stepped closer to us.
“Come on, Miss, if that’s my intention, I just killed you, but look, you’re still alive after we’ve met twice so far?” This guy is so cool that he doesn’t seem to disgust me.
“I don’t really know what you’re intention is, but I have no intention of trusting or taking sides with you!” I was so surly that I lead in my mind what he thinks.
“Let’s just say, I’m interested in you. I want to know you more. I know there’s a reason why you’re like that.”
“Mind your own business! Whatever my reason is, it has nothing to do with you. And if you don’t stop following me, you’ll regret it!” I warned him and want him to threaten.
Trina approached me and whispered. “He’s one of the Alpha, I’m telling you, Syrie.”
I just turned to Trina for a moment and then faced the man again. I don’t care who he is, I only knew he is my enemy.
“I’m not interested in you so please stop chasing me and I might not be able to control myself,” I said.
The man smiled again. He came even closer to me so I stepped backward. He even brought his face closer to me.
“Don’t restrain yourself, let me get in there in your life if you want to know who you really are. Goodbye, Miss,” he whispered.
In an instant, the man disappeared and I was left speechless because of the last things he said. What does he know about my true identity?
“Don’t believe him, Syrie! That man is just tricking you so he can get you,” Trina reminded me as we entered the house.
I took a deep breath. “I know, Trina, but I can’t understand why I want to ask him who I am? What am I? Trina, we both know that only a werewolf can also answer the question who is the real me?” I litany.
“I know, Syrie, but he’s likely an opponent. Maybe he’s just saying that because he has a motive to you.”
“I know that possibility, Trina. But I know in myself whether I should fight or kill.”
“How well do you know that man? He’s not ordinary, he’s strong,” Trina reminded.
“I know because I’ve fought him. He’s not a normal werewolf, he even made me weaken,” I confess to Trina and she got surprised.
“What? You have fought with him? Wait! Let me guess, he’s also the owner of the jacket and t-shirt you were wearing the last night, right?” I nodded slowly.
“I don’t know but he just always shows up somewhere to help me.” I turned from Trina and looked out the window.
“Because he has a motive, Syrie, and whatever it is don’t let him.”
“Who has a motive?” We both turned to Vernon and Persuz who appeared somewhere.
Trina looked at me worriedly. I took a deep breath and rubbed my forehead.
“A group of werewolves came here a few minutes ago and planned to kill us but suddenly an Alpha came out from somewhere and stopped the thirsty wolves. Looks like an admirer of Syrie,” Trina confessed to the two with another conclusion.
“An alpha?” shocked Vernon said. Trina just nodded.
“Admirer of Syrie?” Persuz asked in surprise.
“Maybe, it’s like that man always comes to rescue her!” I slapped Trina on the arm because of her loudness. I even gave her a threatening look.
I saw Vernon laugh while Persuz is just serious as if thinking something deeply.
“Admirer? Always emerging from somewhere? Alpha?” Persuz uttered one after another then he raised his index finger as if he had a good idea.
“It’s your time, Syrie,” he said.
I frowned at him.
“It’s time for you to enter the world of werewolves, Syrie,” he continued.
“Enter?” wondering I said.
“You heard it right, Syrie, enter the world of werewolves. Don’t you want to avenge your parents and Volter? This is the right time, Syrie, when you enter the world of werewolves, it’s your chance to find there those who killed your parents. You can see there the wolves with the engraved moon on their right shoulders,” Persuz explained at a length.
The four of us looked at each other and I keep silent.
Why didn’t I come up with that idea? Persuz is right, I can use that man to revenge. But how do I start?
I could not wait to take my revenge. It is time to enter their place for my hope -for my revenge.
I quickly got dressed and put on a jacket to go into the woods. I need to see that man and execute the first part of the plan. As I walk through the forest, I could hear the various chirpings of animals and insects along with the breeze and dancing of the trees. I headed to the stream and sat on the large chunk of rock, hoping we would meet again.
I took rocks and threw them into the water one by one to make a noise. I have to see that man because he will be my bridge to revenge. Hours passed but still, no man came or even animals to be killed. I waited a few more hours but it looked like no man would come around. I also don’t smell or feel creatures near me.
“You’re here again.” I don’t know but my heart jumped when I heard his baritone voice. I get nervous for reasons I don’t know.
Why didn’t I feel him? Why can’t I even smell him coming? I turned to him.
“I’m really waiting for you here,” I said calmly.
His eyebrows rose.
“Wow! I can’t believe it, are you waiting for me with that attitude? Even saying thank you–“
“Thank you … thank you for helping me,” I interrupted him.
It’s a plan but why do I really feel like those words naturally came out of my lips.
I have mastered blocking the ability of anyone to not read or feel what I am thinking. I already know how not to be spotted. I prepared for it.
The man’s face lit up at what he heard, he couldn’t believe it.
“Wait, am I dreaming? I heard it right?” he asked in shock.
I want to slap him so that he can really feel what I said and that he is not dreaming.
“Do you want to be able to realize you’re in reality?” I offer.
He laughed.
“No thanks, I know it hurts. I just can’t believe it for I didn’t know you this way. You have had a change of mind!” he said.
“Werewolf change,” I said briefly.
He approached me.
“Tell me, it is because of what I’ve said, isn’t it?” he asked directly.
I was speechless and averted my eyes from him.
“Maybe, but because you saved us that day, I saw you weren’t a bad wolf, that I could trust you,” I lied.
I knew the ability of a werewolf but I am prepared for it so he couldn’t read me.
“Okay,” he replied as if he’s no longer doubting.
“But before anything else, can I ask your name?”
“My name?”
“Uh-uh! Syrie, you?”
“It’s Marcus,” he introduced followed by extending his hand to me. I stared at it for a while before I decided to take it but then, I quickly let go of his hand because I don’t know why there seems to be some energy flowing through my body. I fainted slightly following by my rapid heartbeat.
Marcus"How's the plan, Syrie? Did it work?" Trina and Vernon's questions were bombarding me when I got home.I went straight to the sofa and looked at them seriously. "It looks like the plan is working," she said, giving them confirmation. "But I don’t know how far this plan will go," I added."How come? How did you say that?" Vernon asked.I took a deep breath before I answered his question. "We all know that he's not just a werewolf and he's not that idiot that we can fool.""Then you should act normal," Trina suggests.Vernon nodded and agreed with Trina. "Besides, the way that wolf looks at you, it seems like he wants you, right?" She added with a hint of teasin
Kiss"HUH? SO, you did that, Syrie?" Vernon was shocked when he found out what had happened in my confrontation with Volter.I nodded. "I don't know why I believed Marcus in the first place.""But why do those werewolves want to kill you if they're already under the authority of Volter?" Trina asked.I looked seriously at Trina as well as Vernon. "What do you mean?""I’m just confused, Syrie." She paused for a moment. "If Marcus was lying, why did he kill those wolves from his race? Also, this is not the first time Volter's disciples have tried to kill you. If it wasn't Volter, maybe someone else was behind it," Trina explained, as she tried to connect the past incidents.I was speechless a
I'll Try"What are you doing here, Volter?" I was shocked when Volter suddenly appeared from nowhere."I'm just here to visit your place, Syrie. If you're comfortable here or maybe you want another place to live," he replied. I frown at him.Volter looked at every corner of the house. "I don't need a new place, Volter. I'm already comfortable living here." I objected to what he said.Volter shrugged. He said, "I respect you if that's what you want, but remember you're still welcome in the mansion when you change your mind," and sat down on the sofa with his arms leaned on.I sat close to him, staring at his serious face.I know that's not the only purp
THE NEXT morning, I got ready to go hunting in the forest. I can't remember when was the last time I hunted. I miss hunting wild animals and killing them. It's also one of the ways I practice and also it gives satisfaction to me."Where are you going, Syrie?" Trina asked when she came out of her room.I adjusted the leather jacket I was wearing. “In the forest, to go hunting,” I simply answered. “It’s also been a long time since I’ve been able to use my ability to catch wild animals,” I added."Are you with, Marcus?"I was silent for a moment and then shook my head. "No, I'll go by myself. I'm leaving, Trina," I told her.
I rudely entered the entrance of the mansion, many eyes were on me, some not happy to see me there. That is not new for me. Some were pushed back as I passed them and I saw the fear on their faces. They didn't scare me because any of them who do something I don’t like, I will hit them. When I got into that big house, I looked around and there were some vampires there and there were also wolves that had finally joined Volter. In some way, that would help Volter's plan to use the wolf race against its race.I feel excitement and longing when I feel again the embrace of this home, the memories I have formed with the family I recognize. The laughs and the joy that until now, are in my heart that only remind me of them whenever I miss them.Honestly, I miss this home, but I know it would be better for me to distance myself from Volter to avoid a misunderstanding."What a s
I SADLY looked at Yena that was quietly playing with a doll that I gave to her. I just saw that doll on my old stuff, so I decided to give it to her. I feel sorry for her because I know he misses her parents, just like I do. She’s been here two days and I know the feeling of being away from her parents even for just a short time."Look, Sister Syrie the doll is so sexy," Yena said happily to me.I smiled. "It's like you, isn't it? You're sexy and beautiful" I said to her."No, Sister Syrie, it looks like you. The sexy and the beautiful one."I fluttered at Yena's compliment to me. "Yena, do you have a brother or sister?" Maybe if those two werewolves I saw in the forest weren't the parents of Yena, they might have been her brother and sister. The child nodded while smiling. She's so cute. "My big sister's name is Rossa," she said. "She's just as sexy as you," he added happi
"SYRIE, are you ok?" Trina was shocked and full of concern when she greeted me and saw me outside. She quickly approached me in front of the house, and I changed forms. I have no cover in my body. I was naked.Trina took off her Jacket and immediately wrapped it around my body and guided me inside the house.I could barely move my whole body, I could feel the weakness in me so much that I didn’t know why I was feeling it. I also feel all the ache and pain of the wounds in my body that I am unable to heal.Trina slowly made me sit on my bed. I saw her go to my closet and look for clothes there. When she saw it, he immediately put it on me."What happened, Syrie? What happened to you?" Trina asked anxiously as s
UP TO THIS day, I still can't get out of my mind the words that Marcus threw to me. I am still affected by that and whether I admit it or not, I know there seems to be something missing in me, now that my plan has been ruined. No more chance for it to be accomplished. All I started was in vain.I quickly put on the black leather jacket, and I go to the mansion to find the vampire who almost killed Yena. I will not forgive the audacity of them. I knew that man by the way he looked and I would take his own life. I will not allow such incidents to continue. Innocent creatures should not be affected.I left the house. Vernon and Trina were not there while Persuz was in the mansion to carry out the first step of our plan, which hopefully this time, we will be successful. How many decades have I been looking for those wolves with the engraved moon on their right arm? Up to this day, I am still looking for justice and I will on
UNTIL I got home that night, I still couldn't fully wrap my head around everything I learned. It keeps messing with my mind while I don't know how to accept and believe that. I am now torn between two sides and I don't know which to believe, who is telling them the truth. I'm confused and still don't know what to do."Hey! I've been calling you for a while, Syrie why don't you seem like yourself?"I blinked because Vernon waved his palm in my face. His surprised face appeared at me."It's strange that you're dumbfounded, Syrie? We've been here for a while but you don't seem to see or feel anything at all?" Trina said with folded arms as she stood on the edge of the sofa. Then she also sat there.I tried to smile while looking at these two. I turned my back away from the sofa and my face became serious. I slightly avoided looking at them. "I-it's nothing, I just thought of something," I excused them. I don't know if it's the right time to tell them everything I found out."Is there a p
I WILL NOT allow myself to leave this village without knowing other things about my real parents. The darkness is spreading around and I also have to go back home because I know Persuz will ask again where I went if I don't go home.Yena and I also played for a long time because we longed for each other before Rossa came and took the child.Marcus hasn't come back since father Trigo called him, so I'll be the only one to go there to know everything about my parents’ past. I want to clear up before I leave because I might not be able to sleep if those things keep messing with my mind.Marcus and father Trigo were surprised when they saw me enter the room. They seem to be talking seriously."Syrie, what are you doing here?" Marcus greeted me. The momentary concern on his face did not escape my eyes, father Trigo is not like that.I stepped closer to them and sat in the empty seat opposite Marcus. "I want to know everything right now, Marcus. Everything about my parents," I said directly
I STILL CAN'T believe what I heard from those wolves. I try to understand and find the truth in them. Is all that true? But someone tells me to believe that because they are telling the truth but there is a part that reminds me of the vampires who sheltered me and the good they did for me.Maybe I was just surprised by what I found out. How did my real father Amaro become Trevor's brother? And then, how come they didn't tell me that. Why didn't they confess to me those things that I should know. They didn't even mention to me that Amaro is my father. It's all a mess and I don't know which one is true."Are you ok?"I heard Marcus' voice. He sat next to me on the veranda of the house where I also stayed before. I kept looking around where I could see the tall trees. I sighed. "Marcus, everything is a mess. I have so many questions in my mind that I can't get the answer to. I don't know what to think about what I found out," I confessed, then turned to look at him with confusion on my f
NOW that Trina and Vernon knew what I was doing and about Marcus, I had no trouble hiding from them. I'm only worried about Persuz because I know who his loyalty is and it's not mine. I don't even have to explain if I'm leaving and answer their question every time I come back."I want to go to the village but I can't, Marcus. I have to be careful with my every move," I said to him while we were on the edge of the stream. He wanted us to go to the village of the wolves because he said he had things to tell me but it was not possible because Volter had disciples there who might see me and tell Volter."Why not, Syrie?" he asked me in surprise.I looked at him seriously. "Marcus, you don't know who is a true friend or foe even if it's your kind and with you," I meaningfully reminded him who frowned even more."What do you mean, Syrie? That there is a traitor in the village?"I didn't answer right away. I don't know if I should talk about Colby or just let it go. "I don't know, Marcus, bu
THIS MORNING, the smile on my lips still hasn't disappeared because of what happened between Marcus and me last night. My heart is full of joy because of that and I don't want to let it go. I just want to savor it because there's a truth that I don't know how long I'll be able to feel it. I really only felt that with Marcus because maybe he was the only one capable of giving that to me."Oh! Your face looks happy, Syrie, huh?" Vernon greeted me when I got out of my room.I smiled at him. "I'm just feeling happy today, Vernon," I returned to him.I went straight to the living room and sat on the sofa there. Vernon followed me there. "Where is Trina?" I asked when I noticed that she wasn't there and only Vernon was there."Trina? I don't know where she is, she just left a while ago," he answered while his palms were intertwined and his arms rested on his knees."You? Don't you have an appointment? Haven't you been summoned to the mansion?" I asked him. In the past, they were often at th
UNTIL now I still can't get out of my mind what Trina said to me. I didn't even think about that or even suspect Marcus, that he might be one of those wolves with a moon carved on his right arm. Yes, I didn't immediately trust him but I never thought that he might be the one I was looking for. What if that's true? What if Marcus has a moon carved on his right arm? How can I deal with what can happen when I've fallen for him?I sighed as I hugged myself standing in front of the living room window where my eyes were looking at that big tree in front of me. It was dark around and the night breeze was slightly cold. I was the only one at home again because Trina and Vernon were in the jungle while Persuz was in the mansion. My mind has been working on what Trina said and I'm afraid to know what is true and what is not. I don't even know if I can accept when it turns out that Trina is right."Are you thinking about me again?"I blinked and was suddenly nervous when I saw Marcus at the bott
"I'M just curious, Syrie, why did you suddenly have an interest in who you are?"I was slightly surprised by Trina's question as I sat quietly on the sofa facing her. I looked at her seriously before answering. "I don't know either, Trina I suddenly feel there's something missing in me. I feel like I'm missing myself and I don't know what it is," I answered.Trina looked at me as if checking the reaction of my face. Then she blinked. "Ok. I understand, Syrie and I can't blame you if you feel that way. It's natural for you to feel the search for the person you never knew," Trina agreed. "But that won't be good if Volter finds out about you, searching for your personality," she continued with a look of frustration on her face. "Maybe he'll think you're betraying him.""I already know that possibility, Trina, so as much as possible I don't want to tell anyone about this matter.""Don't worry, Syrie, I'm on your back. You can also assure me that what you said is safe," she said smiling.I
I was seriously looking at that rushing stream while the strong wind was blowing. I'm still thinking about what Volter said to me. But even so, I still feel sad and regretful because we spent so much time together that only ended up with us doubting each other. Volter and I have changed so much since we had a misunderstanding. Since he felt jealous of me."You're thinking so deep, baby."I was slightly surprised and blinked when I felt Marcus hug me from behind, he even pressed his face to my neck which brought a tickle to me.I sighed. I don't know why I couldn't feel the fear that someone might see us there and find out what was going on between us. All I know is that I'm safe when I'm with Marcus."I just can't help but think about the things that have changed in my life, Marcus, the things that are happening around," I said calmly as he gently rubbed his arm around my waist"Are you thinking about me too, Syrie?" he said backI blinked at what he said. "Do I always have to think a
Even if I WANT to go to the village to see Marcus there, even Yena and Rossa, I can't because I know Volter has a spy there to identify who the wolves are with the carving moon on their right shoulder. They could find out that I was coming to the village and that would surely reach Volter and start to doubt me.I sat down on the sofa. The situation will be more complicated now because of the decision I made and I have to be more careful because it will have a big impact on me and the vampires."Oh, Syrie you don't have a walk today?"I looked up at Vernon who had just entered the house from I don't know where he came from. Since I came to the village, I don't even know what my housemates are up to."Where are you from, Vernon?" I asked him again. I don't have to answer his question."At the mansion, Uncle Freud spoke to me and said hello," he answered bluntly. He sat in front of me and watched my face. "Lately, I've noticed that you always seem to be thinking about something. There's
