Ethan stared at his bleeding finger in surprise before he lifted his head to stare right at her. He was beyond shocked to the fact that she had made a risky move, despite being at his mercy.
Seraphina’s heart on the other hand, began to race against her chest as if it was trying to escape. Beads of sweat was breaking out on her forehead and she could tell why. She was getting weak as the realization to what she just done sent chills down her spine.Ethan wiped his bloodied finger with an handkerchief, looking up at her face. “My blood must be irresistible for you to have done what you just did and I must commend your boldness.” He said with a slight frown on his face.
“Are you going to kill me?” Seraphina asked again, as soon as he walked towards her.
“Do you have a death wish?” he asked and she gulped. “Exactly what I thought.” He
added. With a strong pull from him, the chain links on her wrist broke and fell off her hands to the tiled floor.“What are you doing?” She asked as she lifted her hands, seeing burn marks on her wrists. Her eyes strayed towards his palms and she noticed they were badly burned as well.
Ethan quickly clenched his fists and hid them behind him but she didn’t care. The werewolves, were hurt by silver as it was the only material along with Vampire saliva that could damage them really bad,
“You wanted to escape?” he asked, but she stared at him in the face. “First of all, you can either escape and get caught by the rear of the pack or worst still, run into another wolf territory, or you can stay here.” He proposed.
Seraphina scoffed at him. “And you are not scared that I might be lying to you the entire time?” She
asked him, noticing that his demeanor suddenly went cold.“If you were lying, you wouldn’t have told me." He said. "Do not think I had let you off because
you are my mate. I don’t like you, blood sucker.” He asserted, even though it was a sentiment they both shared.“So why do you need me to stay?” Seraphina asked him and he smiled at her.
“Because I need your words as a guarantee… I will ask you a question and you either choose
to lie or tell the truth. But if I do find out that you are playing me, you will regret it.” He swore and she could tell he meant it but was too tired to care. She had already gone through the worse and there were times when she would wish she had died. Her suffering was only getting worse until her sister had come to save her. Though she had found a reason to live, running into Ethan’s territory made her wish she hadn’t even steeped out of hers. The worst that would happen would be she, getting married to her leader and maybe used to kill the werewolves. She might be granted her freedom afterwards and would have gone to the Human world to stay.Though she had expected Ethan to have done worse considering what they were to each other, he had treated her better than her people did. She needed a reason to hate him. She needed something that would prove the kind of man she had been told, but she never saw any of that. She had been told that he was evil and unjust but he paid her a listening ear and his pack were happy around him.
While she was brought to him from the cellar, the guards had warned her not to try anything against their leader. It made her wonder if they truly cared about him or were in on his evil deeds and were just protecting him. Either way, he seemed to be patient and loved corporation. She also began to think
that maybe she being his fated mate wasn’t a curse After all. Maybe it was fate. Maybe it was a sign that the two races were supposed to live in unity. She could also try to earn his trust and get him to help her save her sister from Zachary Wright. She would never forgive herself if something should happen to Lisa.“You can ask me whatever you want and I promise to tell you the truth.” She swore, determined to gain his trust.

Meanwhile, far from the Blood Moon syndicate’s Territory, a woman is roughly pulled by two male guards with pale skin. Her black hair stuck to her face as blood dripped from her wounds, that had failed to
heal. She looked weak and although her eyes took in her surrounding, her hands fell limply by her side. She was led by the guards, into the woods and every time her legs wobbled and she was about to fall, she would be caught and a slap meted out on her cheeks.Soon, they had come to a clearing. The sun was shining and luckily for them, they all wore the rings on the fingers to protect them.
“Lisa.” Someone called as soon as she had been shoved to the ground.
Lifting up her head slowly as blood continuously poured seeped from the wounds on her face, stared at a man. He had white flowing hair and his skin was flawless and extremely pale. It was by far
the palest of the vampires. He looked extremely young and his oceanic blue eyes stared at her, as if they were devoid of emotions. The man wore a khaki short and a black top. He lazily examined her while she stared back, her heart pounding hard against her chest. He walked towards her and crouching before her, held her chin in place to look at him.
“I need you to tell me why you did it.” He said as his eyes glowed red and as if under
compulsion, she narrated everything to him before his eyes went back to the way they were. “You betrayed your kind.”“Betrayed?” Lisa scoffed, glaring at him. “Zachary had my sister locked up in a cellar, and you expect me to sit back and watch as he had her beaten?” She yelled into his face, earning herself a hard slap against her cheeks. Her head shifted forcefully on impact, and she spat out a mouthful of blood, still
staring defiantly at the man.“Where is she?” he demanded, but she maintained her defiant silence, smiling with
blood-stained teeth.“If you think I will tell you anything, you are wrong,” she added, but he remained silent. Instead of speaking, he aimed at her chest, driving his hand through it and taking out her heart. Lisa’s body fell limply to the ground, a look of surprise on her face as the life left her body.
“No one should tell Lord Zachary of the escape until I find her,” The man warned, and those
around him nodded. Staring at Lisa's pulsating heart in his palms, he frowned, and with a light squeeze, crushed it without mercy. “Seraphina Ravenhood," he swore under his breath. "I will find you,”Seraphina followed closely behind the servant whom Ethan had ordered to allocate a room for her in the huge mansion. She wasn’t only mesmerized by the old concrete walls of the house, but also by the interiors that she didn’t think were in existence up until now. She was quiet as she followed, even though she desperately wanted to ask the servant questions about how the house was built and how many generations had lived in it. The servant took her through a very long hallway that had numerous doors on either side until they stopped at the sixth door by the right. Seraphina stared at her as she opened the room, and raised an eyebrow when she signaled to her with a tilt of her head to walk into the room. Without saying a single word, the petite girl whom Seraphina thought was too beautiful to be just a servant walked away from the hallway, taking her scent along with her.Seraphina blinked twice as she looked around the hallway, surprised at how quiet and empty it was. With slow steady
There was something about her. Ethan thought to himself as he relaxed on the chair, staring at her with keen eyes. From the moment he had caught a whiff of her scent in the woods, to the moment he brought her into his home, he knew there was definitely something about her. It definitely wasn’t just the mating bond that was making him feel that way, it was also the strong energy he felt anytime she was in his presence. He could swear on his father’s life that Seraphina wasn’t a typical vampire. This vampire was strong, fearless and from her eyes, he knew there were secrets lurking around her. He knew better than to trust a vampire, afterall, his pack had been attacked by them numerous times and both species have never lived in peace, but he was ready to believe whatever she tells him. Why was that? he had absolutely no idea, but maybe it was because she had a very sincere face and also because his wolf was keen on being attracted to her.Speaking of attraction, he allowed his gaze to s
There was total silence in the room as soon as the words left Seraphina’s mouth. Apart from the hollow sounds coming in from the window and the soft breaths escaping Ethan’s lips, the room was otherwise quiet. Ethan on one hand, stared at Seraphina as he tried to make sense of what she meant. Powers? What did she mean by powers? Was she a vampire witch? Did he just allow a witch into his household to threaten the lives of his pack members without realizing it?With a calculated move, he took one step towards her, trying all he could not to let her know he was very impatient and could snap her neck if she dared play games with him. His inner wolf was waiting patiently to see what he was going to do, but he knew Leon wouldn’t want him to hurt their mate. Hell, if he did that, they would fight eachother for a very long time. Tilting his head to the side, Ethan glared at Seraphina, finally able to get a glimpse of her face from the dark corner she stood.“What do you mean powers?” He aske
Ethan had his back against the wall in the far end of the dining room as he watched two of his warriors cover and move the corpse of the female servant away. He said nothing even when Ryan and Daphne placed their hands on their waists at the same time, asking with their eyes for an explanation to be given to them. He tried to think of Seraphina and the so-called power she claimed to have. If she was indeed going to be a risk in his pack, then wasn’t it better to send her away or better still get rid of her? he wondered. A part of him wanted to be rid of her, but another part, the stronger part that was controlled by his heart and his inner wolf, wanted him to keep her and find out what was locked up inside of her.“Ethan?” Ryan called, bringing him out of his thought process and he blinked, allowing his eyes to settle on his best friend. “What happened here?” Ryan asked for the third time again.Ethan watched him keenly, before darting his gaze towards his gamma, Daphne, who stood the
The immediate awareness that someone was inside the room, staring at her while she slept, had Seraphina jumping up from the bed only to see Ethan leaning on the wall, his eyes heavily on her. She quickly looked down at her body to make sure no part of it was exposed before looking up to meet his gaze again. There was a slight smirk on the corner of his lips that had her using her palms to cover her cleavage and the smirk immediately turned into a smile, one that she didn’t think she had seen on his face before.“You don’t have to cover anything.” He spoke, his gaze hovering over her body wickedly. “Our kind have seen more naked bodies than newborn babies.”Seraphina cleared her throat, not only angry that he seemed to be enjoying himself, but also because he had interrupted her dream, a dream where she had been able to rescue her sister after a fierce battle with her vampire friends.“I can see that.” She said, standing from the bed and dragging the sheets with her. When they stood to
Ethan was beyond confused at the situation surrounding him. Was Seraphina playing games with him? or did she not just know how to control the powers she claimed to have. Ryan, his beta continued to examine the bodies of the warriors while he in turn looked far across to Seraphina, who just stood like she had done nothing wrong.“They are dead, Ethan.” Ryan said, standing to his feet and placing both of his hands in the pockets of his pants. “They are both dead, what are you and that blood sucker doing?”Ethan ignored Ryan’s questions and snarled in anger; his eyes red with rage. Before Ryan could say another word to him, he hurried to Seraphina, grabbed her hands, and pulled her against the wall of his chest. She saw how red his eyes were and from the little growl she heard from his throat, knew there was a possibility that he would be changing into his wolf form if she wasn’t careful.“Are you playing with me, young woman?” He growled again, spitting at her face. “Do you think I brou
Ethan lowered his eyebrows as soon as Kara called his name. He didn’t know she was back to the pack because her sister hadn’t informed him about it. She was someone who liked to be around him, one of the few people in the pack who didn’t fear him like others did. Unlike Daphne whose wolf was white in color, Kara’s wolf was a fierce black that could run for ages.He opened his mouth to speak, but the realization that Seraphina was in the room and could be dangerous to her life hit him immediately, so he rushed to her side, leading her quietly out of the hall without saying a word. Seraphina watched them keenly, saw the way he spoke to her and almost flinched when another woman walked into the ring, halting both Ethan and the previous girl on their steps. The girl whose name she was dying to know, smiled at the older gorgeous woman, leaving Seraphina to wonder if all the women in the pack were as good looking as both of them.“I gave an order Daphne.” Ethan said to his gamma, looking ba
Back at the Obsidian Order Clan, Vivienne stood in Lord Zachary’s great hall, her long red hair flowing in the middle of her back as she waited beside Magnus O’Neil, the second in command to the great vampire lord. Vivienne could feel her hand shaking with both fear and panic as she thought of how to bring the news of Seraphina’s escape to Zachary Wright. He had left the witch in her care, trusted her enough to do what was important to keep her within their sight but she had failed him by allowing her to escape. Now she had no knowledge of what would happen when Zachary arrives.Vivienne looked around the hall, taking note of its shiny floors and well painted walls. She spared Magnus a glance and after seeing that he was calmer than she was, scoffed out loud. Magnus on the other hand, turned to look at her, raising an eyebrow as he was surprised about her gesture.“Is something funny, Vivienne?” He asked, his voice low and very calm. Vivienne shook her head in response, as she refused
