It's been a week since Aubrey's visit to the Hills family. Aubrey and Jordan grew close to each other as the days passed which was something they both liked; however, they didn't like to announce it. They would text each other all day long and they even went out a couple of times. Aubrey did her best to deny the fact that she started to feel something towards him. Unlike her, Jordan was not in denial, his whole family knew he had feelings for her, but he was doing his best to conceal whatever feeling that made its way to his heart. He always said that he was waiting for the right time to tell her, yet he never knew which time was the right one.

Jordan talked to his managers about collaborating with Aubrey and they luckily agreed. He did not want to tell her the news over the phone, so he asked her if he could drop by and of course, she said yes.

"Want something to drink?" she asked him as she guided him to the living room. Maria wasn't there, so they both had the place for themselves.

"Water would be good for now," he answered her.

"Okay." She smiled at him before making her way to the kitchen to bring him some water. She returned and sat beside him as she handed him a glass of water.

"I'm not holding you back from anything, right?" He was always cautious and caring around her.

"Not at all. I'm free," she told him as she threw her hair into a messy bun.

"I spoke to my managers about collaborating with you and they agreed." When he told her that, her smile turned into a wide grin.

        "Really!?" she exclaimed happily.

"Yes, we just need to write the song together."

"When should we start?" she wondered. Her heart was jumping in her chest out of pure joy.

"Now if you want." Her excitement made Jordan smile widely. He was in love with her spirit.

"Of course, let me grab some papers and pencils," she said, grinning like an idiot and rushing to fetch whatever they needed for writing.

They spent five hours trying to find the perfect lyrics for their first song together. Jordan could not express his happiness, he loved working with her. Although she was new in the industry, he discovered that she was very professional and took her job seriously which was something he admired about anyone.

"We can record it tomorrow," he told her when they finished writing it.

"I don't have to be at the studio tomorrow, so yeah. Tomorrow suits me," she agreed.

"Great, I will call the studio to book it," he said and went to make the call. She was quite exhausted after five hours of working, so she rested her head back against the sofa and ended up falling asleep within minutes.

When Jordan came back, he saw her asleep. Although he did not want to wake her up, he knew that it would be better if he did because she would suffer from neck pain if she stayed in that position for long.

"Bree... wake up," he murmured softly as he shook her. She was a light sleeper, so she woke up immediately.

"Sorry," she mumbled sleepily while rubbing her eyes.

"It's okay. I have to leave anyway. I just didn't want you to sleep on the couch," he told her. Exhaustion was quite obvious on her face.

"I'm really sorry for falling asleep like that." She felt embarrassed, but he did not mind at all.

"We all get tired, Bree. I will pick you up tomorrow at twelve, we can have lunch together then go to the studio," he said and she nodded. She stood up and stretched her arms.

"See you tomorrow, Dan." She smiled and pulled him into a hug since he was about to leave.

Sleepy Aubrey was Jordan's favourite Aubrey so far. She was so cute when she was sleepy and he could never get enough of her amazing hugs. By that time, Jordan had learned something new about Aubrey. She hated the word 'goodbye'; she used 'see you' instead.

After Jordan left, Aubrey went straight to her bedroom to sleep. The room reflected Aubrey's personality. The walls were coloured in a very light shade of powder pink that could be mistaken as beige. Her bed was a Sleigh one with a buttoned headboard; it was off white. The colour of her nightstands and dresser matched the bed colour. Above her bed, there was a huge frame of a music note picture. There was a colourful carpet in the middle of the room, adding a bit of a joyful look to the room.

The next day, she woke up around ten and got ready then went to the kitchen. Maria was already there making breakfast.

"I have news!" Aubrey exclaimed once she saw Maria, almost giving the poor girl a heart attack.

"Jesus Christ! Since when are you this energetic?" Maria laughed a little as she put her and over her heart.

"Today, I'm going to record a song with Jordan that we wrote together yesterday!" Aubrey's excitement could not be described.

"This is amazing! Wait—Jordan was here yesterday? What did you do?" Maria was always ready to gossip.

"We wrote the song together," Aubrey answered her with a shrug.

"And?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.

        "Nothing else."

"For God's sake, Ree! Why didn't you kiss the guy? He is totally into you," Maria whined, earning an eye roll from Aubrey.

"Are you out of your mind? "He's not into me at all," Aubrey told her, she could not see what everybody else could see. "Look, I'd love to stay and have this amazing conversation with you, but Jordan is here. See ya!" Aubrey said quickly, thankful that she was able to run away from this conversation as she was saved by the doorbell.

"You're always on time," she told him, grinning as she walked to the car with him.

"I'm quite punctual," he said with a smile on his face. Truth was, he was not that punctual, but he was only trying to impress her.

"By the way, Dan, this lunch is on me," she informed him when they got in the car.

"I told you before, Bree, a gentleman shall never let a lady pay," he repeated what he told her the first time they went out.

"It's the 21st century, and I think you should change the way you think about that matter," she said, looking at him.

"You can say that I'm old school," he insisted on his opinion.

"Fine Dan, pay for lunch, but I will pay for coffee," she said in defeat.

"Although I do not like that, I will agree with you this time."

After they had lunch together, they went to the studio and recorded the song. They sounded perfect together. Their voices harmonized together in a beautiful way.

"I love this..." Aubrey beamed as they listened to what they recorded.

"This will definitely be a hit song," the sound engineer commented.

"I can't wait until we release it," Jordan said in a proud tone.

    "Same here."

"You guys can drop it out of nowhere. It will crash the internet within an hour or less," the sound engineer, Will, said.

"I like this idea. We can discuss it with our managers. What do you think, Bree?" Jordan looked at her.

"Sounds good." She nodded her head. "You don't know how much I've enjoyed working with you." Her cheeks turned into a light shade of pink as she told him that. "I hope I wasn't a bad partner."

"Bad? You're not bad at all. You're amazing," he admitted, making her blush even more. To Jordan, Aubrey was a bright star who could captivate anyone's heart and mind. She didn't need to convince anyone that she was good, because she was much more than that. She worked hard, she had great talent, she had manners, she was beautiful; she was a masterpiece and he was slowly falling for the-blue-eyed-girl before him. He dated before, but not once did he experience the feelings Aubrey made him experience.

He wanted her so badly, yet he did not know how to win her. He was afraid of messing things up. He knew that he needed to plan everything perfectly if he wanted her. He was aware that he needed to be slow. He didn't want to rush anything, because he wanted her to be sure of her feelings towards him. He wanted her to want him as much as he wanted her; however, he did not know that she shared the same feelings.

After a week of talking to Jason, Jordan decided to make the move and ask Aubrey out. Although he waited for a week after his talk with Jason, he found out that waiting was no use; it only increased his worries and fears of rejection. Jason spent a lot of time thinking about the best way to ask her out. He kept taking notes of what she liked and what she hated, so he'd give her the perfect date. He really wanted to impress her. An hour passed on what happened in the live interview and Aubrey was nowhere to be found. Everybody saw what happened and they tried to reach her, but she did not return home and her phone was off. Maria tried to call her once the interview was over, but Aubrey did not turn her phone on after the interview. Even Jessica tried to reach her, but she failed. When Jordan saw the interview, all the air left his lungs. He was sure th

Aubrey looked terrible when she woke up the next morning. She didn't have bags under her eyes, she didn't have make-up traces on her face, but she looked lifeless. She could not get over what Jordan had said; it was hard for her to believe that he actually said those things about her. Her mind could not process the words he uttered. She took a shower, hoping that it would help her to relax, but it was no use; she ended up crying as she showered. She dried her body, moving like a robot, then she got dressed.

Aubrey stood in front of Jordan's front door. She did not want to knock or ring the doorbell. She did not want to see him, but she knew it had to be done one way or another. She took a deep breath and rang the doorbell then waited for him to open the door. After a couple of seconds, Jordan opened the door and smiled widely when he saw her. He quickly pulled her into a hug; he needed to feel her touch against his body. She wanted to push him away so badly, but she thought that anyone might spot them together and take pictures. She needed to do everything for publicity."I'm so glad you're here," he mumbled, still holding her in his arms. He did not want to go inside. He knew that if he did, she would keep her distance."Can we get inside, please?" she asked coldly. Jordan nodded and took her inside.

Aubrey returned home after visiting Jordan. Her mind could not stop thinking about the whole act and what needed to be done. She was close to going crazy. Maria was nowhere to be seen in the apartment as she left for work an hour ago. Aubrey threw herself on the couch and turned on the TV, hoping that it would be a good source of distraction. She heard her phone ringing in her bag, so she reached for it; Austin was calling. "Hey Austin," she answered, putting the phone on speaker. "Are you okay?" he asked her the moment she answered. "I'm good.... no need to worry about me," she assured him, but she was a liar. She was not okay. She was far from that. "You know that you're not forced to continue this

Jordan held his phone tightly in his hands, debating whether or not to call Aubrey. It has been five days since they last went out together and he wanted to see her, but he was well aware that he was the last person she would want to see. He was almost a hundred per cent sure that he was the person she hated the most in her life. He did not want to be that person, but things got out of hand and he fell into the trap. He should have known from the beginning that something was off. After more than twenty minutes of thinking, Jordan built up his courage and called her. He did not know if she would accept going out with him or not, but he decided to give it a go. "Hey." He heard her voice through the phone and suddenly he got nervous. Aubrey made him see himself as a high

"You've never been this silent before," Aubrey commented, looking at Jessica who was sitting in front of her. "It's kind of awkward between us." Jessica shrugged, glancing at Aubrey. "And why is that?" Aubrey wondered, resting her chin on the palm of her hand while her elbow was on her knee. "I'm Jordan's sister." Jessica frowned. "He messed up." "HE messed up, not you," Aubrey pointed out. "Why would I treat you differently if everything is okay between us?" &nbs

Green. Not once had Aubrey imagined herself wearing a dress of this colour. It was a risk, but something about that dress caught her attention and pulled her towards it. She loved the lace, the simple design and the colour. The dress was screaming at her to try it, to put it on her body and to let its fabric touch her skin. She loved how it hugged her body, and she adored the off-shoulder cut with its long lace sleeves. She was going to a party she didn't want to go to, so she thought that she should at least enjoy the way she looked. It was an album release party that Edmond held for one of his signed stars and she was invited since she was one of his signed stars. She could have brought somebody with her, but she di

The warden locks the door of my cell behind me and I let out a heavy sigh as I throw my body on the thin mattress on the narrow bed. I am supposed to be spending the next forty years of my life between these cold, hideous four walls. Nothing here is comfy and I guess this is intended; it's a prison not a hotel after all. I have to get used to this feeling; the feeling of imprisonment. How am I going to survive this? I can't live like this. I need my freedom back. Whatever I've done to that bitch isn't worthy of my freedom. I'm confined and bound by transparent shackles. It feels like there's no air to breathe. It's been two months since I last took a glimpse of the busy streets of Los Angeles and I swear, I am close to losing my mind. I miss the busy streets, the traffic jams, my job- that I lost a long time ago because of my stupidity; I should've been more cautious-, my beautiful girlfriend, the humane food and most importantly, the looks of plea that I used to witness eve

"I'm finally seeing him! I'm finally seeing him!" Aubrey squealed as she got off the plane with Maria and Jessica. They have been on a vacation for a month. They went to more than six countries together. They went on the vacation they talked about on the day of the trial. It was a girls-only vacation just as they planned. Jordan wasn't really excited about the whole thing since he was going to be staying away from Aubrey for a month, but he definitely wanted her to go and have fun."For the love of God!" Jessica rolled her eyes playfully at Aubrey. "It was just one month." She chuckled."Exactly! A month! Like 30 days! I miss him!" Aubrey whined as they walked to the bus that would take them from the plane to the arrival hall. The girls decided to go on this vacation after exactly twenty days of the trial. Ever since Austin's chapter in Aubrey's life came to an end, she became a whole new person. She was more cheerful, happier and she seemed to be more alive. She was b

Aubrey stood in front of the mirror and she adjusted her grey suit on her body. She styled it with a blue blouse that was tucked in the suit's pants. She took in a shaky breath and closed her eyes for a couple of seconds then she opened them again. "You got this," she whispered to herself. "Are you done, babe?" Jordan asked her as he walked out of the dressing room. He approached her from behind and she turned around to face him. "I guess I am." She smiled a little at him. She took her clutch that was on the bed and the two of them went downstairs. Just as they reached the bottom floor, the doorbell rang so Aubrey went to open the door. She found Maria and Jessica before her. "You were supposed to be in Miami," she said in shock, looking at Jessica. Jessica did have a modelling gig she managed to get for a perfume commercial and it was supposed to b

Austin's trial was the following day and Aubrey wasn't okay at all. She was freaking out internally and externally. In the morning, she was pacing around the house, trying to make herself busy with anything, but she failed to keep her mind away from the dark thoughts that roamed through it.She was in the backyard, just walking around, trying to do her best to stay calm. She felt like screaming. There was a huge amount of negativity inside of her and she wanted to let it out. She didn't want to do anything reckless that she might regret later. Keeping her sanity secure wasn't an easy task at such a hard time.Jordan was watching her from afar, attempting to make sure that she was okay without being so close. Two weeks passed over Dana's visit. The date of Austin's trial was getting closer and everybody was on the edge. Aubrey was trying to appear contained as much as possible, but internally, she wasn't as strong as she made herself seem. She was breaking into a thousand pieces, but she was doing her best to keep her true feelings hidden.Aubrey started therapy sessions ten days ago. She decided to go for extensive sessions because she felt that was what she needed, yet she didn't justify why she picked the extensive sessions. Most of her close ones knew why and they didn't bother to ask, they were desperate as much as her; they wanted her to get better and they were willing to do anything to get that. Her parents left two weeks ago after they made sure she was stable enough. They were assured that she'd be in good hands with Jordan, Maria and Jessica. They were certain that they would take good care of her. That was what they wanted for their daughter for the time being.

Jordan and Aubrey were still sitting together, watching Netflix while munching on the fruits. Aubrey was sat on his lap. Originally, she was sitting beside him while he had one arm around her and her head was on his shoulder, but lately, they took a liking in that position. It just happened naturally, they didn't do it intentionally. Without even noticing, she would find herself on his lap and honestly, she preferred that position. As they were sitting together, the inner telephone rang, meaning that the security on the mansion gate was calling."Who is at the gate?" Jordan sat up as he talked on the phone. By his tone and the look on his face, the visitor wasn't really favoured."Give me a minute," he said through the phone then looked at Aubrey. "Dana is outside. She wants to see you," Jordan told Aubrey, who seemed to be a bit taken aback by what she had just heard."Dana as in... Austin's girlfriend?" Aubrey gulped, looking at Jordan. Aubrey's breath caught up in her throat and her chest started to rise and fall rapidly. She was experiencing another nightmare; the third one in her first week with Jordan. She saw Austin in her nightmares. He would always torture her, hit her and of course, rape her. The nightmares' ideas were the same, but the order of the events was different each time. Her body jolted up as she screamed. Tears were streaming down her face as the intensity of the nightmare managed to break her peaceful sleep or semi-peaceful sleep. She longed for a peaceful night with no nightmares or overthinking, but it seemed like one of those two attacked her each night.Jordan was awoken by her scream and he immediately turned on the light of the lamp on his nightstand. He placed his hand on her back and started to gently rub it."I'm s-sorry." She breathed heavily. "I didn't mean to wake you up. I didn't want that." She whimpered, looking down. Aubrey curled up into a ball and stayed in bed. She didn't want to sleep, she just wanted to run away from everyone. She wanted to run away from the looks of sympathy and the questions that roamed their minds. Everything was taunting her, mocking her and even reminding her of what she went through. The looks of pity made the memories attack her. The days she spent locked up in that atrocious cabin played at the back of her mind like a tape on rewind and she failed to turn it off. She looked at the door when she heard it being opened; Jordan walked inside. He wanted to check on her because he was more than sure that she was far from being okay. It killed him to see her in that state, he despised seeing her broken. She resembled an angel with broken wings.
