Chapter twenty-seven

Hadassah woke up to the aroma of food. She turned and reached towards the other pillow and was dismayed to find that it was empty.

Aamon has left.

She stretched and yawned as she sat up. Maybe it was because she was still sleepy, but her room looked unfamiliar to her. She wiped her eyes and was relieved to see that there was nothing unfamiliar about her room.

She looked at her injured arm which was still wrapped with a piece of Aamon's shirt.

She knew she couldn't go downstairs to see her mother like this, she would be suspicious.

She walked towards her dresser, brought out a band-aid and carefully placed it on the wound.

She changed into a top with longer sleeves so it would cover the wound.

She stared at her reflection and realized that she looked very messy, especially her hair which looked very tangled up, so she detangled it by running her fingers through it.

Aamon told her that he made her mother forget about the incident, so she had to be careful not to do anything that
