At the Carlsons.

Melissa paced restlessly, constantly glancing at the clock on the wall. Her irritation was growing. It was already afternoon, and she anxiously wondered if that small piece of flesh, the obstacle, had been dealt with. Her phone beeped twice, and she smiled triumphantly upon checking the message.

Deleting the message permanently, she muttered, "Sophie, you thought you could use that piece of flesh in your womb to leverage something from the Carlsons? Wishful thinking."

Cedric poured himself a drink in a luxurious private room at the Crimson Bar but didn't touch it. His typically charming demeanor had shifted to an icy coldness, unnerving the women nearby, who refrained from even the slightest breath.
