Charles POV
A few months back….I was at the garden, watching my sister play as I read a classic book that I am trying to finish so I could read the next book I have in my bookshelf. I’ve been trying so hard to focus on my book, but Charlie kept on talking to her dolls as they play tea party.I can’t help it, but to close the book that I was reading since I couldn’t even understand what I was reading because my mind kept on drifting to what’s happening to my mom.My mother hasn’t been feeling well lately and I think it wasn’t cause by any physical sickness that she might be feeling. I hadn’t seen her come out of her bedroom since yesterday and I think she was just avoiding to let us see and worry about her“I think we should go and check up on mom,” Charlie said the same thing I had been thinking. It turns out that she was also thinking about her while she was playing with her dolls.&ldqI swear I’ve seen this familiar face before. I just don’t know when or where I did. How can I forget this man when he looks exactly like me?I ran to the living room, where we last left our mom’s laptop after I and Charlie decided to play outside, instead. Mom would let us borrow her laptop from time to time, but we couldn’t use it to play games because she doesn’t like it when we use technology for playing instead of going outside playing with the other kids using our toys.Charlie didn't follow me; I know she's used to me who suddenly disappears when I think of something. She’s the one who told me that I’m that kind of a person. I think that she also thinks that I would tell her what I would find.I opened the laptop and searched the name “Warren Laurent” and a lot of things came out about him. I know that my father's last name is Laurent because mom gave us his last name and I don’t know why would she do t
Bella's POVIt's weekend, and every weekends I make sure that I spend all my time to my twins. I would block out all my work, silent my phone, refrain myself from taking a look on my emails and let the paperworks pile up until monday.I only have two days to spend time with them since they go to school during weekdays. I have to make the most of our time in two days.Every saturday, we would go outside and visit parks or near tourist spots to bond with each other and have fun. In that way, I could ask the twins questions and know them deeply.I make sure to make the most out of them while they are little. Once they grow up and become teenagers, they would surely be embarassed to give me a kiss on my cheek in public and share me their deepest secrets."Where would you like to go today?" I asked the two while they are eating their favorite breakfast that I cooked which were pancakes."Can't we stay at home? I have assignments and I'm planning to finish th
Warren's POVI stared at the traffic beside us and leaned my head on the car window. I badly want to rest, but how could I when Ivy has been insisting to accompany her to the mall.I could never say no to her, especially with the kindness that she showed me. This is the least that I can do to return her favor.I turned to look at her when I felt her hand clamped on mine. "Are you okay?" She stared at me with concern."Yes, I'm fine," I replied and kissed the back of her palm.Even though I felt no romantic feelings towards her, I still act like her lover and shower her with sweetness knowing that I am already engaged to her.She will soon be my wife and I have to learn to love her as early as now.Just like what mom had told me, It wouldn't be that hard to fall in love with a sweet girl like her."I'm sorry for being such a nuisance. I shouldn't have forced you to come," she told me apologetically."It's fine, I chose to come," I assured her and gave her a
Bella's POVJust as what we had planned before we left home, we went directly to the mall because that's what they want."Good morning ma'am!" The mall's security greeted me upon seeing me.The customers who heard them thought that it was out of courteousness, they didn't know that they knew me as a close friend of this mall's owner.I didn't told them that I own this place myself because I don't want anyone to know my identity.I tried my best to convince my kids to visit a different mall instead, but they loved our mall better. Who wouldn't? When we have the biggest and most famous mall in the country.People from other states would even travel just to be here and eat at our famous restaurant at the rooftop where they could taste all foods from around the world in one place with a decent view of the sky, the beach at our land's border and the city's landscape. That idea of mine is one of the reasons why my mall is renowned in the world."Kid
Charlie's POV"I want that doll," I blurted out when I recognized who the man before me was. He's my father and I want to know if he would recognize me. I fought my urge to jump on him and wrap my arms around him as I tell how much I miss him and how I always dreamed of meeting him.The fact that he's standing inches away from me and I can't do anything but to pretend that he's a stranger made my heart shatter into pieces. He smiled amusingly and gave me a pointed look. His gaze reminded me of Charles's look when he heard something funny."You want this doll?" He asked teasingly."Yes," I answered curtly and reached for the doll he's holding, but he moved his hand away from my reach."I saw this doll first," he argued."No, I did. I saw it first and you only touched it first." If he's stubborn, then I'm much stubborn. He opened his mouth, but before he could speak Charles interrupted him."Sis! What are you doing?" Charles shouted an
Warren's POVI swear those kids, there's something about them that doesn't feel right. I just can't point out what it was.Even the boy is so peculiar, he looks like me when I was little. It was like staring straight at my own figure when I was a boy.If they only told me what their last name was. I was stupid for getting tricked by preschoolers. I should have clearly asked for their full names in our deal. Why am I even obsessed in knowing what their last name was? Why does it even matter? I shook my head off at the thought of getting crazy about the kids. There's something about them that unnerved me, not in a bad way but in a good way. My heart melted the moment I saw them, like they were a part of me or something. The feeling is weird, yet familiar. It's not something that I couldn't explain.Heck! I don't even know what I'm feeling either."Warren!" Ivy beamed and rushed towards me when she saw me coming. She held two dresses on both of h
Warren's POVI was silent at the whole time that we were eating our lunch. As usual, the foods were expensive and delicious, cooked by our personal chef.Mom and Ivy continued talking to each other throughout the time that we were eating. They never lose their own topic of conversation. I zoned out most of the time that we were eating.Ivy would constantly look back at me and ask me questions where I would pretend that I was interested. Mom would get mad and give me her long speech if she saw how bad I treat Ivy.It feels like Ivy was her real real daughter and I was her undeserving future son in law.I just wish that this whole thing would be over so I could go back to my penthouse and be by myself.I thought we were free to go home after lunch, but mom held back Ivy to continue their conversation in the living room while sipping tea. They always talk everyday, but they look like friends who hadn't met each other for five years. If I could, I
Everett looked at her sleeping daughter tenderly with a smile on her face. His previous anger towards me is wiped away from his face. What is he feeling right now? What does it feel to be married to to the person you love and hold a bundle of life on your arms. That was what I and Bella was wishing for. We were waiting to become parents. Children is the only missing piece in our marriage, but it didn't happen. It turns out that everything we had was a lie."I'm going to take some wine," I stepped to leave, but Everett stopped me."Don't leave, we are not done talking yet.""I'm going to come back after.""Is that what you've been doing after your divorce, drowning yourself in alcohol and work?" He asked making me stop. That was my life at the first few years that Bella left.I was always drunk every single day and night, but Ivy snapped me out of it."I thought you were doing well in the business because of Bella. I thought you were inspi
