Warren's POV
I swear those kids, there's something about them that doesn't feel right. I just can't point out what it was.Even the boy is so peculiar, he looks like me when I was little. It was like staring straight at my own figure when I was a boy.If they only told me what their last name was. I was stupid for getting tricked by preschoolers. I should have clearly asked for their full names in our deal. Why am I even obsessed in knowing what their last name was? Why does it even matter? I shook my head off at the thought of getting crazy about the kids. There's something about them that unnerved me, not in a bad way but in a good way. My heart melted the moment I saw them, like they were a part of me or something. The feeling is weird, yet familiar. It's not something that I couldn't explain.Heck! I don't even know what I'm feeling either."Warren!" Ivy beamed and rushed towards me when she saw me coming. She held two dresses on both of hWarren's POVI was silent at the whole time that we were eating our lunch. As usual, the foods were expensive and delicious, cooked by our personal chef.Mom and Ivy continued talking to each other throughout the time that we were eating. They never lose their own topic of conversation. I zoned out most of the time that we were eating.Ivy would constantly look back at me and ask me questions where I would pretend that I was interested. Mom would get mad and give me her long speech if she saw how bad I treat Ivy.It feels like Ivy was her real real daughter and I was her undeserving future son in law.I just wish that this whole thing would be over so I could go back to my penthouse and be by myself.I thought we were free to go home after lunch, but mom held back Ivy to continue their conversation in the living room while sipping tea. They always talk everyday, but they look like friends who hadn't met each other for five years. If I could, I
Everett looked at her sleeping daughter tenderly with a smile on her face. His previous anger towards me is wiped away from his face. What is he feeling right now? What does it feel to be married to to the person you love and hold a bundle of life on your arms. That was what I and Bella was wishing for. We were waiting to become parents. Children is the only missing piece in our marriage, but it didn't happen. It turns out that everything we had was a lie."I'm going to take some wine," I stepped to leave, but Everett stopped me."Don't leave, we are not done talking yet.""I'm going to come back after.""Is that what you've been doing after your divorce, drowning yourself in alcohol and work?" He asked making me stop. That was my life at the first few years that Bella left.I was always drunk every single day and night, but Ivy snapped me out of it."I thought you were doing well in the business because of Bella. I thought you were inspi
I was planning to take the kids out and spoil them before I tell them who their father is. Calvin is right, I should tell them the truth while they were young. But we didn't have the chance to do so because Charles doesn't want to be absent in school. He wants to finish the school year with perfect attendance and as his mother, I should support and help him with that. I should be teaching them that punctuality is important.I took out a deep breath after doing it a million times already. I would need to pick out the things I would wear to the event with the help of Lisa today. I know I shouldn't be nervous about it because I'm just going to choose something I'd wear and I am not meeting Warren yet. It's just that everything seems odd. I used to be excited to be with Warren, but now the thought of seeing him makes me feel preposterous."You're late!" Lisa glared at me as I came out of the elevator. She always goes to the office earlier than me even if we live in t
"That bitch! She should have told us sooner that she got Ivy's dress. I would still buy that dress even if it doesn't look good on you." She grinned"What you did was insane! Thousands of dollars for a gown! You're making me become poor.""That was nothing to you! It didn't even reach 1% of your net worth." She said, nonchalantly. That's how rich I am. People loved my mall because of the restaurant it has on the rooftop. It was so famous that people around the world would spend money just to visit my mall. It was always filled with people. We've been planning to build different branches around the world and everything is already set. I'm just waiting for the expansion project to finish in the main mall right now and make it the largest mall around the world before we announce our other branches."I wonder what Ivy's reaction will be when she sees you wearing the dress she bought. Please bring me to the event! Please!" She pleaded with puppy eyes.I sigh
Saturday came like a wind. It was too fast like what happened with me and Warren. It caught me at the time I was unprepared. Things you dread always come so suddenly and I was dreading for this day to come. I have to tell them the truth now. I can't come back to my word just because of my fears. I have to do this or I'll suffer dire consequences in the future. This time I didn't wake up the kids. I let them sleep until they woke up. While waiting I cooked our breakfast. As usual, Charlie woke up earlier than her brother. We didn’t wait for Charles to wake up and started to eat our breakfast which was waffles and warm chocolate. They never eat breakfast without a warm glass of chocolate. By the time we finished eating Charles woke up and ate his breakfast with Lisa who surprisingly woke up late. She always wakes up earlier than all of us.“We will go out today so you all had to prepare!” I told them excitedly. Charlie squealed happily.“But we h
It's Monday. I took a few deep breaths to calm my nerves. I'm already wearing the dress, shoes, and accessories I just bought. I look glamorous in my night make-up. Despite how stunning I look I still feel nervous."Hey, don't think much about it," Lisa said after she noticed me fidgeting nervously on my sit. I looked back at her and saw how elegant she was in her outfit."I-I don't want to do this," I said and she propped her hand on her waist."Just get on with it, okay? You have nothing to worry about! You have me and I'll be there watching you."Her speech didn't make me feel calm. I just felt more nervous. I just want this to be over with. Andrew drove my limousine for us to the event. The kids were watching movies at home before we left. Charlie kept on telling me that I looked like a princess and Charles said I look like a different woman."Don't forget to put the kids to sleep after watching one movie," I told Andrew as I went out of the limousine an
Warren’s POVI know that this is the perfect time to meet the owner of Sullivan industries. I have to talk to her, to persuade her to choose my offer instead of Calvin's. I placed the invitation on the table and stared at the wonderful view behind my office desk. I sighed and tucked my hands inside my pant's pocket. My mind flew off again on what could Bella be doing right now. Perhaps, she is sleeping cuddling Calvin on their bed. I shaked away the thought and pinched the bridge of my nose. I can't let them distract me.I told my assistant to prepare some appointments to look for my outfit. As usual, I will bring Ivy with me like the past few years.I accompanied her in choosing her outfits and she also accompanied me. That day was disastrous for us. Both of us can't decide on anything to wear that we had to rely on what Leslie thinks about our outfits. It didn't help that Ivy doesn't get along with Leslie unlike Bella. The moment they both laid their eyes on e
Bella’s POVI can't help it but to cling on Calvin's arms tightly as they approached near me. A shiver went down through my spine at Warren's intense gaze. Ivy looks like she saw a ghost, she looks pale and I could see drops of cold sweat on her forehead despite that the room is air-conditioned. Warren offered us a handshake and Calvin took his hand in a tight grip.Everyone is looking at us, I'm sure they can also feel the tension around us. I also shaked Warren's hand and sparks flew away again making me remove my hand immediately. At least, there’s that thing that didn’t change between us.Ivy pasted a smile on her face trying to pretend like nothing happened, "Nice dress!" I complimented her. The dress she was wearing was mine. It was the dress I bought the night I got divorced, same with the shoes, bag, necklace and earrings she is wearing. I bought it all with my own money."Thank you!" she muttered and tucked a strand of her hair beh
