Henry's POV
“Boss.” I got off the treadmill before turning to look at my assistant, Blake, who was standing there like he had something urgent to tell me. “Speak.” I said calmly before taking a drink from my bottle. “J&K sold their company and all ownership transfer has been set to place,” he said, pausing to see my reaction but I just stared blankly at him. “The new owner just launched a new product in Tee Foods name and it was launched yesterday and it has surprisingly blown off the charts.” That got my attention, but only in the business aspect. There was only one way to get that much sales in just a day after rebranding a company, and that was support from even bigger companies. It was a risky thing to do, but the new owner must be one who knows his or her thing well. “And she's the new owner.” He said, turning the iPad with him to show me the woman I had come across in the grocery store the previous day. I've been unable to get her off my mind for a strange reason even though it's been over three weeks since we met. It was strange to me, but I had been trying to shrug it off to no luck. “According to everyone, it is a surprise that the product launched in just three weeks after the company was sold and everything was approved and seems great.” Blake informed me and it was surprising to me since it takes months to get it all done, but now that was quickly done, unless she's had the idea for a while now. “Wow, what do you want to do?” “Nothing.” I said, turning my attention away from him. I was really interested in her, but going in now would only bring up rumors from my side. I had to check and see if it wasn't just a one time thing. “You've been invited to the annual general meeting this year and it seems they're inviting newbies in the industry too, so there'll be a huge amount of people. Will you–” “I'll go.” I cut him off while waving him out of my gym. If they would be invited, that meant she would be there as well. “And get me everything you can find about Rosetta.” “Yes, boss.” Walking out of the gym with my eyes glued to my phone, it suddenly buzzed, displaying my mother's name and I wanted to let out a groan, but had to pick up anyway. “What is it mother?” I mumbled. “We've arranged a blind date for you, Henry.” She said, not bothered about the fact that I didn't greet her like I usually did, which made me wonder why she was so eager. “I am not interested in those kinds of things, mother.” I refused. “I don't want any woman who would be from you. I'll get married if I want to.” “But you're almost 35, Henry. I want to see my grandchild before I die. I am not getting any younger.” She had always been like this. I didn't have any time for women in my life since I was always busy with work, and I loved my work more than anything else since I got to escape into the world of business which I loved the most. My hard work made me sit at the top of the chain for over ten years now. Being in a relationship with a woman right now would just be a pain that I haven't requested for. And she knows it well, but always has to disturb me everytime. “This time around, I'm sure you'll like her. She is from the Miller family but it seems she already has her own company and did well in just the first three weeks. I'm sure you'll find her interesting. Her father spoke to me about her.” She said and I turned my attention to the iPad I was holding, displaying Rosetta's information on it. “I'll think about it.” I replied calmly before hanging up. It was obvious the man was trying to use her as a means to get Miller Foods out of the current predicament they were in. No one knew about the daughter of the Miller family since according to this information, she was married to Justin Hilton before he sent her to jail for attempting to murder his unborn child. She obviously just got out of prison about a month ago. Reading all that about her just made me even more intrigued in her than I already was. She didn't look the same as the first picture Blake added, she looked so meek and timid but now she looked all fierce, and seeing her reminds me of a dragon. “Just why do you intrigue me so much, Rosetta?” A small smile appeared on my lips as I dropped the iPad, intrigued to see just what she would do next. My car stopped in front of the huge hotel where the annual general meeting night was being held. It was a meeting place for people in the food chain to meet up and receive awards, and it was the first time I was attending and that was because of Rosetta who was surprisingly invited. It was the first time a situation like hers was happening in decades, so the internet blowing up about her being there wasn't a joke. “Henry Black, over here.” “This is your first time attending the annual general meeting awards after refusing tons of invites. What changed your mind?” “What do you have to say about the new Tee Foods as someone at the top of the chain?” I paused at that question, turning to look at the reporter. “I'm intrigued.” And after that, I walked down the red carpet, ignoring every other question and comment as I headed into the building to the top floor where the party was being held. As I got into the elevator, it stopped for a few seconds and a figure appeared before it, dressed in a black off shoulder gown with a tattoo on her chest. Her black hair was beautifully styled and she looked elegant for a first timer. Rosetta Miller.Rosetta's POV“You can't keep doing this to me, father. I am also your child.” My voice of protest broke through the silence in the entire room. The room was huge and my voice echoed within it but I didn't care.“I have made my decision, Rosetta. Theo will be taking over the shares instead of you. You did go against me when you decided to get married to that bastard anyway and I took it as a cue to do what I want. Or you think it's unfair?” My father asked, not showing even a bit of remorse for giving what was meant to be mine to my older brother.“You've given him your company, your estates, more than half of your property and you expect me to just sit back and get nothing? You've always been unfair–”“Watch your words with your father, Rosetta. You already got one thing you wanted and how is it going?” My mother spat at me mockingly. “You can't even keep your husband for yourself, how would you keep any of the properties?”“Don't speak about Justin like that, mother–”“Oh just shut
Rosetta's POVGraaaank. The sound echoed through the stone corridor as the warden pulled open the cell gates. I was standing behind it, counting down to the amount of minutes I had left in this place that I've found a bit of peace in these past five years.“Rosetta Miller, you're out.” The warden called. I looked up from my seated position before standing up to leave.I stepped out of the place with a frown while heading towards the locker room to get changed out of my prison outfit.Changing into a much more inviting t-shirt and jeans, I looked at my reflection in the mirror. No one would be able to recognize me anymore. I dyed my brown hair pitch black and made it shorter than it used to be. My bright look was dark and gloomy, showing the amount of experience I've had in this hell of a cell.“I hope we never get to meet again.” I mumbled as I stepped out of the gates, into the fresh air of freedom I haven't felt in a while.I brought out my phone, looking at the time and the latest

One thing I was grateful for was the fact that I was smart enough to buy some stocks a few years ago.Justin spoke about the stock market a lot and I wanted to get it for him as our anniversary gift that year, but thankfully he just had to throw me in prison a week before that. And, the stocks doubled the amount I initially expected it to be by now, twice.I lost myself in smoking while leaning against the rooftop to have a good view of the city. I have never appreciated something this much like I was doing now, and it was just sweet to finally be free from the dolled up life I was living.Maybe going to prison might be a bad thing for others, but it was good for me. It made me wake up to reality and made me stronger than I used to be.Putting out the cigarette in my hand into the ashtray, I walked out of my apartment and down the block to get something in the grocery store
