Who Is That Guy?
“Ann, didn’t you get what you want yet?” Lea asked, scratching her head and fidgeting with her eyes.
“Jeez, Lea. Everything here looks so perfect. I am trying to find something but I just can’t.” Ann’s eyes just looked around the numerous female wears. Her eyes scanned them with desire and she didn’t know which one to chose. Those baby eyes of hers were feasting, a feast of a lifetime.
Also, she looked at Lea and saw the tiredness that was written over her face. Although she chuckled at the sight but yet, she was baffled at the fact that Lea’s long hours of sleep didn’t have an effect on her. She was certain that Lea was going to be the first to wake up and not her.
Thinking about the previous night, she couldn’t help the loud thuds of her heartbeat. She smiled as her mind begun replaying the scenes. They spent the whole night watching movies, playing and dancing in the room. She thought of the moment when Brent’s eyes momentarily glanced at her.
Brent was her long time crush, although they have been best friends, but she still liked him and after last night’s hangover, she wondered if he liked her too because the whole time, their eyes kept looking at each other’s.
“What are you thinking about?” Lea asked Ann, interrupting her thoughts.
Ann knitted her brows in a dilemma on what she was going to give as a response to her tired friend. “Well huh –
“Please everyone shopping at this mall is required to move out. The mall is closed at the moment.” They heard from the speakers and looked at each other, confused. Many people in the mall began to murmur among themselves.
“Why will they close the mall?”
“It must be someone important.”
“I am guessing the president. I mean, this is one of the biggest shopping malls.”
Ann sighed in disappointment while Lea squealed in excitement.
“Jeez, I was so tired already. Thanks to whoever closed the mall? Now let’s go home, Annie.” Lea said and started walking out of the mall. She didn’t wait for another announcement to come up, so she hurried out of the mall.
Ann on the other hand just stood her grounds, looking around at the beautiful dresses. She was so eager and desperate to pick up a dress for the evening since she had none. Her mind was made up, no matter the flock of disappointed people leaving the mall, no matter the numerous times they were reminded to leave the mall, she was determined to get a dress, either way.
“Hey Lea, we should hide inside these – She didn’t complete her statement because she turned and saw no one.
She looked slightly pissed but not surprised. ‘I don’t know why I am surprised.’ She grumbled.
“Everyone has left.”
“Search the mall. You know very well the boss. He won’t take it lightly seeing even just a single person in the mall shopping with him.
Ann quickly hid under the clothes rack. Just standing there for another minute, they would have caught her. She waited for what seemed like forever and once she confirmed that they had gone, she came out and sighed a sigh of relief.
“Phew! That was close.” She mumbled and turned a 180° to see someone, dressed casually though looking rich. Her mouth dropped in total surprise, much to his surprise because he was expecting her to scream in horror.
The guy before her was worth the whole planet, so handsome, even more handsome than her Brent.
Once she heard footsteps, she immediately broke free from the hypnotic stare that took forever and hid inside the cloth rack. She dragged the standing man to hide besides her.
He stood there looking at her dramatic entrance under the cloth rack. He wanted to say something when, “Wha – She knelt on instincts to be taller than the sitting him and then leaned closer to him, after which, within milliseconds, she covered his mouth.
The gap between them was almost closed by their bodies which were nearer than inches away. He looked at her but could feel her heart beating fast, as if it was racing. Her chest rose and fell and her breath was becoming louder and faster. Her eyes were on the feet she saw. Those legs, they showed four men were standing there and she didn’t know what will happen if they caught her.
Her knees began to tremble and her grip on his mouth was more than firm, preventing him from saying a word.
She felt warm arms, encircling her, in a soft but firm grip and quickly looked at his face. He was putting on a nose mask but his emerald green eyes got her looking at him for a long while, plus he had such a beautiful fragrance that made her want to stay within his arms and where she could smell more of his sweet smell. Thoughts flooded her mind, both naughty and stupid thoughts.
One of them was for her to kiss him there, another was that maybe she could try sleeping with him (Naughty thoughts). Another thought came and it was for her to scream but that was of no use, because the security would have to come here and then drag her out of the mall, thereby ruining things up for her.
“This is the price you pay for coming to a mall that is for the rich.” Her subconscious mind told her. She gulped hard subconsciously and then quickly looked to see if the security men were still there. She saw none and slowly pulled away from his grip, making her way out of the cloth rack. Her breath quickly went to normal and her heartbeat steadied back as soon as she verified that they were clear. She turned to the man whom she had helped and he was leaving.
“Hey are you leaving yet?” She asked him and he nodded.
“I thought you are here to shop. If you leave, the security men will come here for sure and I will be caught.” She told him. That was just a part of the reason.
Another reason was that she wanted to spend some more time with him because she was not sure she will ever see him again. Just their one time meeting, she wanted to know him and be friends with him. She wanted him to meet her friends.
“Didn’t you come here to get something? Why will you leave without purchasing anything?” She asked.
He just turned and began to go through the many dresses he saw there, picked one and left immediately, without waiting that she should speak any further.
“What a weird man!” she thought and continued going through her dresses, praying seriously that he doesn’t turn her to the security men.
‘Wait! Could he be the very important person that ordered the mall to be closed for the moment?’ her mind began to question her.
Why didn’t she think about it? It definitely was him, for him to move about freely. She panicked now even the more, thinking that he left because she was there and he was going to close the mall.
“I am so sure he is going to call for the security men on me. What should I do now?” She thought, scratching her head, making a mess of her long golden brown hair.
“Oh God, Annabel you scared the hell out of me.” Lea scolded while panting heavily.
“Lea! What are you doing here?” Ann questioned scared that the security might have followed Lea to take her out of the shopping mall.
“Did you alert that I was missing, again?” She added and Lea nodded. She wasn’t shocked at all.“Don’t worry. The mall has been reopened for everyone, so we can continue shopping. But never do what you did to me today. You got me worried sick.” Lea complained and Ann nodded in a half smile with closed eyes.
The shop was now opened once again, meaning her thesis was right; he was the one who had ordered for the mall to be closed.
‘Who is that guy and will I ever see him again?’ She questioned herself in her thoughts and continued going through the dresses less bothered but wondering if she will be able to meet him again.
Manuel walked out of the mall with a smile on his face. He had removed the nose mask and was now walking freely to the secret doorway. Richard saw this and gasped for it was the first time that he was seeing his boss smile elsewhere aside from his mother’s presence and probably his own presence. He didn’t know what to say to his friend and just chuckled as he looked back at his friend who was busy walking to the car with a smile. He didn’t want to ruin the moment by asking questions so he just stood there at the door and ordered that the security team prepare since they were leaving. When Manuel wanted to make use of this particular shopping mall of his, he ordered that the mall be closed. He patiently waited at the back of the mall to enter once the mall was closed and then the head of the security team ushered him in, assuring him that everyone who was in the mall was out. Once he got in, he went s
Manuel sat in the car enjoying his ride back home and playing some of his favorite tunes when the radio of the car tuned to an unexpected destination, a channel he didn’t like at all. “Welcome to Refine radio station, 97.2 FM. We have our TV channel which is currently channel 79 on TV station. We are here once more with some exciting news for you. Headliners first, Han Manuel, the heir to Han Empire will be turning 23 in a few months, rumors has it that he will officially be the owner of Han Empire by then.” Manuel just sighed. Richard tried changing the channel but Manuel decided to listen to the news just a little. “The sole bridge linking Town K and Town N collapsed this morning with 2 casualties and two deads. Former Minister of State was arrested for embezzlement of state mone, part of which he already started using. He is under severe torture to explain where he hid the rest of the money, accor
Manuel took his mom to the room where she was now resting. He came down the stairs and met his best friend Richard making calls. His face was no longer as pale as before. He was very better seeing that his mom had become calm. For a woman who wasn’t suffering physically, she was suffering emotionally and it pained Manu even more. How will she survive when he dies? He looked at Richard and smiled. His best friend was always there with him and maybe Richard will be there for her! No! Richard will be there for her. He will be the Manu in her life. Richard loved Leera like his own mom and Manuel knew that there was no better person to entrust his family in, except his best friend Richard. That was another reason why he kept Richard busy as his assistant because once he died, Richard will be the one to take over and take care of his mother. If he had a choice, he would have decided against it but that was
Annabel Wen, I didn’t raise you to be such a rascal.” Ann’s mom scolded her. Lea mistakenly spoke about the fact that everyone left the mall but Ann hid under dresses. “Mom!” Ann cried as her mom kept pulling her ears. She was feeling pains but hehe, she was definitely going to punish Lea for spilling the beans. Lea knew fully well that she was in for trouble as Ann was being pulled by the ear. “Mom, it’s not just me. Lea was in the mall with me when all these happened. She didn’t even tell me that everyone was walking out of the mall.” 'Oh boy I’m dead.’ Lea made a mental note and before she knew it, Ann’s mom used her other hand to pull Lea’s ears. Lea started to cry like Ann as the mother kept pulling their ears. “You stubborn kids, we raised you better, Margaret and I and here you are, being stubborn and foolish. Did it even occur to you that there were security cameras around and they co
Time passed by quickly and it was 6 pm already. Ann was dressed in a sky blue trumpet, halter-neck gown. It went slightly below her hips, straight, and then flared down to her ankle. Instead of heels, she wore flats and tied her hair in two pigtails. She looked…“Horrible! You look horrible Annie.” Lea groaned angrily. Ann’s two pigtails made her look like a kid and the shoes… well the shoes were manageable. Lea on the other hand was putting on a purple body-hugging gown that barely crossed her knees and matched it with black heels that had purple stripes on them. She had bought the dress using Brent’s card and although she cried that she spent his money, she was happy that the dress enhanced her beauty. She didn’t tie the hair but rather left it loose but wavy, with a pin on the left. Her makeup wasn’t much since she didn’t want so much attention.“You look beautiful, Lea. Brent
Manual wore a black tuxedo with a blue bow tie, that made him look like a Prince from some enchanting kingdom. At that moment, life worries didn’t make sense to him anymore, he smiled as he looked at himself on the mirror. “I would have dyed this hair blue to match the outfit.” He mumbled as his hands ran through the soft purplish hair. “Wow, my baby boy looks dashing today. Are you going out with Ginny today. She said it’s been long since you last took her out on a date.” Manuel sighed as his mother kept ranting about the one person he didn’t want to discuss about. His mom liked Ginny, his high school classmate that clung on him like glue for over 5 years. Ginny and Manuel met in high school . She was a transferred student to his school and he must admit, she was even more gutsier than the girl he met at the mall. Ginny on the very first day she saw him, approached him, telling him she liked him. ***
“One more shot!”“One more shot!”“One more shot!”Ann and Lea, accompanied by a group of people who were at the party, cheering on Brent who was in a drinking competition against a certain guy they just met there at the party. Brent drank and drank till he could drink no more, then his opponent drank one last glass making him the winner by a glass. The crowd immediately dispersed after they cheered for the winning champion.“That wasn’t bad, dude. We should do this some other time.” The man that defeated him chuckled but Brent shrugged. There wasn’t going to be any next time, maybe if he returns to the country as a hopeless futureless man. Besides, he planned on returning to the country and making Ann his wife, immediately. Some guys came and stood beside the girls, admiring their bodies, especially Lea’s body, because of how her gown highl
Ann nodded comprehensively and drank from the very glass of beer of Brent. It slightly burnt her throat and she gulped down the rest quite difficulty. The after taste in her mouth was sour and very much different from the sweet drink she was drinking couple of minutes ago.“Jeez. My drink suddenly tastes different.” She complained, studying the drink again. This time, her vision was getting blurry and she couldn’t see the content of what she had just drunk clearly.“Annie! Why did you have to drink that?”“W-what?”“That’s Brent's beer and you know very well that you have a very low alcohol tolerance.”“You talk a-about l-low a-alcohol t-tolerance w-when I-I h-have n-never d-drunk a-alcohol b-before.” Ann stuttered as she struggled to keep her eyes that were closing, open. She had mistakenly drunk from Brent's glass and now she was su
