In a well-furnished office, three teenagers were standing silently in front of a middle-aged man who was sitting on the chair with his hands resting on the table. On the table, a nameplate was placed clearly telling his name and designation. “Dr. Edward Du The principal” was written on it. “Your respective classes have been assigned. You can join the class by tomorrow. For now, I will arrange someone to show you all, around the school.” Dr. Du said to them. They were the newly transferred students. And, they would be joining the 11th Grade in the current month, July. He picked the handset of the telephone and pressed some buttons on the dial pad. *ring* *ring* After two rings, the call was picked and a melodious voice of a girl was heard from the other end. “Hello.” “Come to the principal’s office right now.” *toot* He cut the call as soon as its purpose was served. “Huh!? What was that!?” The girl was bewildere
"Umm... Lani, who is she?" Opal asked. "Huh!... you mean the girl in sports uniform?" Lani asked after gaining her senses. Opal nodded in response. Well, it wasn't hard to guess who can attract others' attention in an odd way. "Well, she is Layla Chen. The vice-president of the student council." 'Hmm, vice-president. She is quite a... unique vice-president.' More or less, those three had the same kind of thought regarding her. If Lani would have been able to listen their thought, she would also nod her head heavily in agreement. All of them with having something on their minds again started paying attention to the ongoing incident. This time, a different voice was heard. "This has nothing to do with you. It's between me and my sister." The boy on the tree snarled. He was furious and frustrated that his plan was foiled even before he could execute them properly. But right now in front of him was the dead-end of any scheme he cou
"Where are you coming from?" a boy asked Layla who was now dressed in the familiar white shirt and navy blue skirt, and the badge that reminds others of her position in the student council. He looked at her with his eyes hidden behind the silver specs he always wears. Those specs always showcase his features as a serious and smart guy which he is actually. Given his mature expression and handsome face, he could be the subject of the school romance fantasies of many girls. He was sitting in the student council room. His presence there was a clear indication that he is also a member of the council. On top of that, his shining badge was enough to let others know that "he is the president". "It was sports class plus sir called me. You also have the same schedule." She replied knowing where this conversation would head. After all, he's not the type who asks unnecessary questions. But, one thing she couldn't believe is that Lani informed him too quickly. "Y
"Don't play with your phone" Ryan reminded her. Her lips twitched. She was well aware of the rule. Although they are allowed to bring their mobile phones to school but are not allowed to use them openly. "By the way, ask Lani to print the list of events with their respective dates." "She's my secretary, not yours." 'What's wrong with this guy. Does he really need to flaunt that my best friend is his exclusive secretary? If it weren't him then she would be my EXCLUSIVE secretary.' "We need that list and you know this too" Anyway she didn't express her inner thoughts and decided to focus on the issue. After all, she can't change the fact that her and Lani's plan has been failed thanks to Ryan. "You should look for a secretary. You can't go too long like this. Just how seniors spared you?" He was wondering till this day just why no one bothered her to recruit another person to share her burden. "Yeah! yeah! I need to find a suitab
Fortunately, Layla was able to avoid the slap launched at her. "With all due respect Mrs. Park, I agree that it was my fault that he was hurt but--" Before she could finish her sentence, she was cut off in the middle. "Trying to give excuses when you have already admitted that you pushed my son." Mrs. Park was fuming. She was blinded by rage, if not because of Mr. Park who holding her back, she would have tried to hurt Layla again. "I didn't push him. And, I hope you won't falsely accuse me of a crime, I haven't committed." Layla decided to make herself clear hurriedly before Mrs. Park could accuse her again. "Mr. and Mrs. Park we can talk smoothly as you can see student Layla claimed that she didn't push him, maybe there is a misunderstanding somewhere. I don't think there is any need to act like this especially in front of a patient." Dr. Du tried to soothe the situation. He was trying to solve it in the best way without upsetting any of the
'A recording would...' Olivia and Oliver both paled. They could imagine their bad ending. "Why would Oliver try to steal something, we do not lack money to buy things." Mr. Park commented. He could not think of any reasons behind his son's said shameful actions. "From CCTV footage, we found out that the stuff, he took some sheets from Olivia's bag which was in the music room. He thought it was hers." Right now, Layla had no plans of stopping. She was going to tell them everything in detail. "The sheets, the whole music club had been searching were in his possession when I and Olivia went to him." She continued, "His actions have not only caused the trouble to the club, but to Olivia also. As for why he did so, it would be better for the siblings to tell you the reason." Every word entering their ear was like a shock to them. They were stupefied. The confidence with which she spoke was enough to tell them that their kids are the ones at fault.
"Mrs. Park, neither I called you nor I directed you to act like this, here at this hour of the day. So how would I know that something like this would happen, let alone arrange someone beforehand? Please, speak with logic." Layla took advantage of the situation and reprimanded Mrs. Park. Her words had no filter at all. After all, Mrs. Park was having trouble using her brain properly. "By the way, I forgot to mention but I'm a new student and I don't know any one of them since I haven't started attending classes officially. And, if you are unsatisfied with the decision, principal sir will make..." He paused for a second to take a good look at their faces. "...then feel free to call the police. I'm sure the law would be able to give an impartial decision." His voice was mellow and his smile was bright yet... This was enough to prick Mr. and Mrs. Park causing a visible change in their expressions. Calling the police was a huge matter when their own child wasn't
*bang* The door was slammed open harshly which made a loud sound by hitting the wall. "Don't release your frustration on the poor door," Lani said. Layla snorted in response. Lani lives in the Girls' hostel and Layla is her roommate, right now, whose distorted expression is enough to describe her foul mood. "Have something first. There are your snacks.” Lani pointed with her finger. “Anyways you don't look good with an empty stomach." Lani had later found out the reason why exactly her roommate hadn't come back from school. Thus, she decided to take care of some things beforehand. "Hmm. Lemme change. Thanks, Lani." In response, she just smiled. Having a good roommate i
