Emma's POV

My hand slightly trembled and I had to tighten my hold on my phone involuntarily lest it slip out of my grip. His words spiraled inside my head and for a moment I could not believe in my ears.

Did he really say he knows the person responsible for the crash?

Does this mean that I was right?

It was not just a mere accident but a carefully planned assassination attempt.

Every realization came concaving down on me, and I stood up as if I had been pricked. The silence of the call was disturbed by his lazy giggle, “You did not know, huh?”

“I had a doubt but… never mind.” I did not want to tell him anything right now as there was something more important, “Tell me who was it?”

“Woah, right to the business.” He commented.

I replied, “I could have died that day. Do you understand the seriousness of this?”

“But you did not die, so it is no longer important.”

“It is.” I said, “There is someone out there who is trying to kill me. I need to catch him before he harms me and my kids again
