Call with the stalker

Emma's POV

As my phone was ringing, my grip on it was tightening involuntarily and I slipped into a trance wondering if I should pick up the call or not. I broke out of my thoughts when my phone buzzed halfway through the call. It was him, saying- Pick up, I won't bite.

I gulped and with trembling fingers proceeded to answer the call.

I put it against my ear and muttered, “Hello.”

There was no sound from the other side of the phone and it was eerily silent. I don't know why but a fear of something was growing inside me.

This was a bad idea. I said in my head. This was a very bad idea!

It was going to be a little over thirty seconds but there was still no response. It was not that there was complete nothingness on the other side of the phone.

He was there. I could feel his dominating and ominous aura. He was lurking in the shadows as if he was watching his prey and waiting to hunt them.
