Emma's POV

I pursed my lips as my eyes squinted themselves.

“How do you know that he won't try to harm me?”

His voice turned more and more serious as he uttered these words, “I won't let anything in this world touch even a strand of your hair.”

Goosebumps.

I felt goosebumps surfaced all over my body when he said something like this. Since the day I have come in contact with this guy, I know he is not the kind to mess around with. I have not known him for much long and even this was my first time talking to him but I can say by the kind of vibe he was emitting, he was the kind who would not hesitate to hurt people.

I cleared my throat and tried to lighten up the conversation, “So, you are like my personal bodyguard?”

“I want to be more than that.”

“What?” I asked, “A friend?”

He grunted, clearly annoyed, “You won't ever let me be cheesy, will you?”

“No, I won't. You can always try somewhere else though.”

“Not interested.” I heard him stand up from his chair and the sound of his shoes
