Arianna felt an excitement unlike anything she had experienced before. She had finally completed her university journey and had become a successful doctor. To top it off, right after delivering her valedictorian address, her longtime boyfriend, Valentin, had surprised her by proposing to her.
It was an unforgettable surprise, and of course, she accepted his proposal. Her parents were thrilled for her and organized a celebration to honor both her graduation and engagement.
The occasion was meant to be full of joy, and she enlisted her best friend, Maya, to assist with shopping for the party. They made their way to the mall where Arianna parked the car, and then joined Maya inside, where they began choosing dresses for the event.
After picking out the most stunning dress she could find, they moved on to shoes and other essentials that would ensure Arianna was the center of attention. Though she was already a beautiful girl, the extra glamour was just to let her shine as the guest of honor.
Maya then informed Arianna that she needed to use the restroom, and Arianna agreed. While her friend was away, she began to browse perfumes, trying to find a scent that appealed to her.
Suddenly, she caught a whiff of a mesmerizing and intoxicating fragrance that seemed to draw her closer to its source.
Compelled by the scent, she wandered around the expansive mall, guided only by the irresistible aroma.
She stopped in her tracks when she spotted a handsome man browsing through the clothing section, seemingly engrossed in looking at the outfits.
He was slightly turned away from her, allowing her to catch a glimpse of his striking features, and he looked like one of those rare Adonises you rarely encounter.
Despite knowing it might send a confusing message, she felt compelled to approach him anyway. Her only intention was to inquire about the perfume that had mesmerized her senses.
Just as she took a few steps closer, Maya's voice called out to her, stopping her in her tracks. "Arianna! What are you doing?" Maya called out, quickly making her way to her friend, who appeared lost in thought a few meters away from the man.
Maya approached her friend and teased her gently. "Arianna, how could you? I’ve been looking for you everywhere. You’ve been here eyeing a guy?" she joked.
"No, I just loved his perfume and wanted to ask him where he got it so I could buy some too," Arianna clarified, though her explanation didn’t seem to make sense to Maya.
"What perfume?" Maya asked, confused. "Don’t you notice it? That amazing scent coming from him?" Arianna responded, still aware of the captivating fragrance that lingered in the air.
Maya looked at her as if she was being ridiculous and simply shook her head.
"I don't smell anything. I think you've spent too long in the perfume section; it’s messing with your senses," Maya jested, but Arianna was quite serious.
She was confident about what she was perceiving, and she was certain it was emanating from that man, but she realized that arguing with Maya would lead nowhere, so she chose to let it go.
"By the way, we need to leave now. Your mom just called and said she’ll be at your house in twenty minutes. We don’t have much time, and the party will be starting soon. We're finished here, so let’s go," Maya said, pulling the seemingly hesitant Arianna along.
Loki turned around as a surge from his inner wolf coursed through him. He wondered what was the matter. 'Our mate was just here, only a few feet away, and we didn’t even realize it before she left,' his inner wolf seemed to convey.
He quickly dropped what he was holding and searched the area; there were very few women around since he was in the men's section, and none caught his interest.
He wandered through the mall, scanning for his mate but came up empty-handed. Many women shot him flirtatious looks, and some even had the audacity to approach him for a date, which he pointedly ignored.
This was why he hadn’t rushed into the human world; many of the women were superficial, and he had no patience for that kind of behavior. The only reason he was here was for his best friend, Valentin. His sole human friend was getting engaged today, and he definitely wouldn’t miss that.
No one who laid eyes on him would have an inkling of his true nature. Not even Valentin was aware that he was a werewolf, let alone the alpha of the most renowned pack in the region.
Valentin believed Loki was often unavailable because he lived abroad, a pretense Loki had diligently maintained. They had crossed paths under unusual circumstances and had become best friends ever since, often communicating solely through their phones, which surprisingly did not weaken their bond.
Loki had confidence in Valentin and trusted that his choice in women would be excellent. Although he had never met her or had the opportunity to lay eyes on her, he sensed that she would be the ideal match for his friend.
After searching for twenty minutes without any sign of her, he concluded that she must have already departed. His inner wolf felt despondent, sharing in that disappointment.
"Don’t fret; we’ll locate her, I promise. We just need to hold off for a little bit longer because there’s something else we need to prioritize today.
We have to be present at our friend’s engagement, and afterwards, it’s straight to searching for our Luna," he reassured himself as his inner wolf reluctantly agreed.
He returned to the men’s section to grab the clothes he had previously chosen. After that, he proceeded to the checkout, made his payment, and then ent
ered his car with the shopping bag before driving away.
Arianna slipped into her gown with open shoulders that hugged her figure beautifully, featuring a neckline that revealed just a hint of her generous bosom.A stylist had transformed Arianna’s hair, intricately weaving one side into a braid while securing the rest in a neat bun. Maya took charge of her makeup, opting for a light yet enchanting look. Her mother held her hand, providing her with emotional support.Arianna almost chuckled at their overzealousness. They acted as though it was her wedding day instead of merely an engagement. Reflecting on it brought a smile to her face. It illustrated just how much they cared for her and wished for her happiness. She felt like the luckiest person alive, having achieved everything she had ever dreamed of. Her life seemed nearly flawless.Unbeknownst to her, a storm was looming, poised to disrupt her seemingly perfect life; the only constant was change. Her father arrived and praised her. "I feel so fortunate to have such a stunning daughter
Arianna kept her eyes locked onto him, and he mirrored her gaze. He had never realized that his mate would be a human, and such a stunning one at that. He immediately felt a connection to her; he had to make her his. Just then, Valentin showed up and disrupted the moment. "Loki, you finally made it," Valentin greeted with a big smile as he approached Loki, exchanging a firm handshake followed by a friendly hug. Upon seeing her fiancé, Arianna turned away, feeling embarrassed. Here she was, admiring another man at her own engagement party. Valentin noticed that Loki was staring at Arianna and grinned. "Looks like you've met my fiancée; this is Arianna, the girl I've been raving about. Isn't she absolutely beautiful?" Valentin inquired. "Absolutely," Loki replied succinctly, his gaze never leaving her. "Let me make the introductions. Arianna, this is my best friend, Loki, the mysterious guy from Canada. And , this is Arianna, my fiancée and soon-to-be wife." He wrapped his arm around
The strong light coming on her face from the window caused Arianna to open her eyes and instantly close them back. She tried opening her eyes once more and was able to at last settle her vision; she shielded her eyes from the sun by using her left hand across her face. She sat up and looked around her, her head aching terribly but trying to find her place. Her line of sight dropped on a man just then. She knew who he was in a moment. "So you're finally awake?" He inquired, his expression worried."Where am I? who are you really? You brought me here for what? Why did you kidnap me? She probed him relentlessly with questions."Just try to cool down; you have been out for some hours so it is not good to stress right now." Approaching her, he cautioned." shuts the fuck up! Just let me go. You kidnapped me, how dare you advise me to cool down? Act neither all coy with me or as though you truly care. Tell me why you abducted me and how much you would be ready to pay to release me. My par
Leaving to exit the room, Loki turned away from Arianna. "Where are you going? You cannot leave me here; get back here!" She sobbed, getting up from the bed she had been seated on but Loki neither turned back or responded. He walked out slamming the door behind him. He headed for the bathroom across the large hallways. He could easily show her that he was speaking the truth; he simply needed to change and knew he wouldn't be able to do it in front of her yet.He wouldn't want that; she wasn't ready for that yet; transforming into a wolf would mean stripping off her clothes. She would take it the wrong way.On his way to the bathroom, he ran across Lilith. " Loki slows down, I can not help but wonder where you could be going in such a haste." She made a smiling teasing joke."I have to go, sorry Li." She blocked him, though, according to him. "I'm sure nothing could ever be as important as myself." She said with a sensual smile.Loki grumbled; he had no time for this. "There is indeed
"What are you doing? Put some clothes on!" Arianna turned her back on him and flushed red on her cheeks."I only had to show you that I was speaking the truth; but, right now I suppose you trust me. Alternatively do you need more proof to persuade you?" Loki inquired, and Arianna shook her head fiercely while still facing him back-first.No thanks. I don't need any more proof; I think I believe, anyway, if you really want to discuss, kindly put some clothing on." She insisted, and Loki nodded.Loki changed to his werewolf form, left the room, went back to the bathroom to get clothed, then came back a few minutes later totally dressed and looking beautiful as ever." You can turn around now." He gave an instruction, she inhaled deeply, then turned slowly. "Are you actually this shy? Cause if you are, I'm not sure how much fun mocking you will be." She scowled at him and he laughed."Enough on that now." We should discuss why I am here and how you plan to take me back to my house. She i
Not caring if Loki was leaving angry red marks on Arianna's skin, he came up to her and firmly grabbed her hand.Arianna tried but couldn't free her hand. "Ugh!,Stop! Kindly stop; you are hurting me”. She grumbled while tears started to gather at the brink of her eyes."What in the world gives you the right to reject me like that?" His face expressionless said, "What is it?"Arianna started to get afraid very fast. She had already broken the mating bond and rendered them strangers, hence there was every chance that this man could harm her now and she stayed silent.Nothing Loki despised more than not getting a response when he posed a question. Though Arianna's actions were starting to severely irritate him, he tried his best to control his wrath."I asked you a question and I need an answer right now." Loki insisted, and Arianna started to shake slightly out of anxiety."Well, I.... You didn't want to let me go and I wouldn't want to stay here with you. I deliberately turned it down
Arianna gave a dubious look at the kind seeming elderly woman. "Oh you must be Arianna; you are a really lovely woman. You will be a wonderful Luna for Loki, certainly." The woman said but Arianna said nothing. "Of course, where are my manners? I haven't even introduced myself. I am Freya, and I watched over Loki as a child. I raised him from infancy as his mother passed away when she was birthing him. I love him like my own son and am more or less his mommy. The woman said, and Arianna at last felt relaxed with her."That's fantastic but why are you telling me all this?" Arianna asked naturally, unable to help. "I'm sharing this as you are the ideal partner for Loki and will assist in more than one kind of change for him. Once you get to know him, you will see that despite his rough and commanding exterior, he is truly a darling within. He always just has the greatest of intentions, even though he could act aggressively occasionally." Freya then went on to clarify.Regarding what she
Arianna had barely gotten back to her book when the door flung open wildly. She didn't have time to guess as Loki's tall and intimidating frame was soon standing before her."Why? Why do you enjoy disobeying me?" He questioned simply, the anger apparent in his eyes. She tried to sit up before explaining. "I wasn't trying to……….." She began her defense but was cut off quickly, he wasn't the least bit interested in what she had to say."How could you disobey me? If you want to play hard with me that's finebut you should show some respect to me in public, I'm still the Alpha and no matter what, I command respect, especially from you." He said, his eyes holding a dark expression, she heaved and said nothing."I don't get what it is you're trying to prove by behaving like this but I'll let you know that I'm not a weakling, I won't keep running after you and pleading for you to accept me. I requested you come down for dinner and you had the nerve not only to refuse, you had the maid say it
Arianna sighed and inhaled deeply before entering the room. Positioning herself near the door with her hands on her hips, she gazed at a pale Lyra. "Are you feeling okay, dear?" Freya inquired. Lyra gave a subtle nod. The doctor rummaged through her bag, took out some medication, made Lyra take one, and handed the rest to Loki. "Please look after her, and under no circumstances should she ever eat kiwi or anything made from it again. She needs to take these pills for three days, and her diet must be monitored as there may be other allergens that you might not be aware of. Lastly, resting is crucial for her; if you need my help, you know where to reach me. I believe that covers everything, Alpha," the doctor concluded. "Thank you, doctor," Loki expressed his gratitude as the doctor bowed and departed. "Are you really okay, frowny?" he asked, settling on the edge of her bed. She nodded slowly. "You truly scared us all. When did you suddenly develop an allergy to kiwi? Why d
They all stood outside while the doctor cared for Lila (Lyra). Loki walked back and forth in the corridor, while Arianna and Freya remained by the entrance. Arianna didn’t need a doctor's explanation to realize Lyra had experienced an allergic reaction; she was likely allergic to kiwi, which was why she had vehemently refused to eat those cupcakes. A smile crept onto Arianna’s face; Lyra believed she was clever, but she should have considered her actions more carefully before pretending to be Lila. It seemed she had forgotten that Princess Lilap's favorite happened to be the very item she was allergic to. The doctor emerged, and Loki, as always, hurried to inquire about her condition. "You really need to stay calm, Alpha, or your blood pressure could rise. Princess Lila is perfectly fine. I've administered an epinephrine injection, and although she’s still unconscious, she will be okay. I'll quickly fetch the tablets she needs, as they must be given to her the moment she regains co
They quickly entered the dining room, and everyone took their seats for breakfast. Lyra wished to sit with Loki, but Arianna took that spot first, leading Lyra to glare at the human girl before opting to sit on the opposite side of the table. Freya clapped her hands, and around five servants came to the dining table, bringing numerous dishes as she started unveiling them one at a time. The table was filled with various breakfast items: burritos, waffles, cinnamon rolls, bagels with cream cheese, biscuits and gravy, eggs and bacon, French toast, blueberry pancakes drizzled with maple syrup, and finally, freshly toasted kiwi muffins straight from the oven. Loki's mouth watered at the sight of the food. "Everything looks so delicious; I'm really thankful to you, Freya," Loki expressed, his eyes finally settling on the blueberry pancakes. "Are those blueberry pancakes?" he asked for confirmation. "Yes, I know you love them, so I made them just for you," Freya replied with a grin. "Fr
They kept staring at each other until Arianna blinked, Loki realized his actions and got up from on top of her.She sat up with an awkward expression. "What are you doing here?" He questioned and she gulped, she could tell he was still angry with her from his tone of voice."I…. I just came to check up on you." She answered quickly. "Well that's new, do you have any problem?" He questioned as he got up from the bed and grabbed his shirt, quickly putting it on."No." She answered simply, notknowing what else to say. "Then do you have something you want to tell me, an explanation perhaps?" He questioned and she just couldn't take it anymore. She walked forward and stood in front of him. "Loki , I understand that you're still upset with me but please don't treat me like a stranger. I won't be able to take it." She pleaded."Why does it always have to be about you? Why do you always have to be so selfish?" He questioned and turned away from her but she would not let his words get to her.
Arianna could hear hurried footsteps towards the door and she knew that she would be caught if she didn't act fast. She looked around quickly and saw the door to a room she'd never been in and she quickly hurried to it.She opened the door of the room swiftly and closed it carefully and slowly.Lyra opened the door and looked around the hallway, she saw no one but her eyes caught sight of the broken glass on the floor and the first thought that crossed her mind was that someone had been listening to theirconversation and she swore that she would not spare the person. She looked around carefully, walking through the hallway to see if she would find anyone hiding behind the walls but she found no one. She looked around and saw a room and she reasoned that whoever had been spying on them must have come to this room to hide."Don't go in there." Lilith cautioned, stopping her. "Why?" She questioned with a frown."That's the second late Luna's room. It was Lilas mother's room and it's be
I left the pack and went to live with grandmother in her pack. I had lived there for barely two years when I found out that Princess Lila was going to be the future Luna of the pack. I despised the woman because she was one of the people that had not only made my life hell, but she was just so full of herself and it was annoying.I purposefully applied to be a maid in the palace where she lived so I could look for a way to get my revenge. A few months later, I found out that she had a rare heart disease, I think it was called ischaemic heart disease. It was clear that she was going to die as there was no cure. She didn't want to let anyoneknow, including her husband. She didn't want to burden their hearts without the discovery and as I had said earlier, she's very proud so she didn't want pity from anyone. She said she would die of shame instead of her heart disease if her husband were to take excessive care of her and look at her with pity because she was a dying person.Only her cl
Arianna couldn't sleep that night, she concluded that if she wanted to find out the truth of what was going on, she just had to be watchful. Sitting back and relaxing would be absolutely of no use to her.She got up from bed and walked out of her room, closing the door quietly. Thankfully, the castle halls were lit and it was dead quiet since it was already well into the night. She walked casually but carefully around the palace, deciding to take a little fresh air as it would help to calm her frayed nerves. She moved in the direction of Loki's room, deciding to see and maybe explain to him what had happened earlier. She was almost sure he would listen to her now that his anger had passed with time. She was almost to his room door when she heard a sound and she instinctively hid to get a glimpse of where it was coming from. From the safety of her hiding place, she saw Lila snooping around secretly, her suspicions were immediately confirmed and she was now sure that Lila was definitely
Arianna ran to her room and closed the door behind her, she fell on the bed and broke into tears. It hurt her deeply that Loki had refused to believe her.She understood that Lila was his sister so he would definitely believe her first over everybody else but what bothered her the most was the fact that Lila had not only insulted her but had lied about her to Loki, and surprisingly, she even had the injuries to prove that Arianna had been violent with her which was not true.Thinking about it carefully, there was only one reasonable explanation here and that was, Lila must have hurt herself on purpose but why? Arianna thought about it carefully but no reasonable explanation came to mind, the only thing she could conclude was that Lila must have something against her but why?She had not done anything wrong to the She-wolf as far as she was concerned. Lila must have sensed that there was already tension between Arianna and Loki and she had put on that little show just to further drift
Arianna, seemingly having no other choice, took Lila on a tour of the palace, not making much conversation with her. When they had gone round the palace, Arianna revealed that their tour had come to an end."But won't you take me to the pack house?" Lila questioned. "I'm sorry but I don't go there." Arianna revealed."But why? You're the future Luna of the pack but you don't even go to the pack house? Is the place too dirty for you or do you feel like you're too good enough to mingle with the people there?" Lila questioned, the anger apparent in her voice."No, that's not it. You're getting the wrong idea about me. My first experience in the pack house was very bad and that's why I dread going there." Arianna said and Lila threw her a questioning look."What do you mean your first time was bad?" Lila questioned.Arianna sighed and told Lila about everything that had happened in the pack house with Lilith."I'm so sorry about that, I thoughtlessly accused you without knowing." She apol
