Chapter 3

                  Ivy 

Having vampires in our school is horrible, but having Xavier look at me with that devilsih smirk on his face is even worst. He keeps on bugging me, even after the warning I gave him. I swear I want to kill him so bad, and I’m sure I probably will soon kill him at this rate. 

“So today I’ll be pairing you guys up for your history project,” mrs Johnson says. I hope I get paired up with anyone, literally anyone except Xavier. It's gonna be really bad, if I get paired with Xavier. I would rather get paired with any other vampire in this class except Xavier. I hate him that much. 

I don't pay attention till she gets to Chris. 

“Chris with Axel, Lisa with Elena, Tabby with Ivy,” she says, and I want to get up and dance. Thank God I don't get paired up with Xavier, like how messed up will that be. “Jeremy with Xavier” She sits down. 

Well, that's not so bad, but it is kind of. How about if Xavier feeds on Jeremy and his family? I’ll tell Jeremy to work with Xavier in a restaurant or any open space. The good thing is I didn't get paired up with him. 

Suddenly, Xavier gets up from his seat, looks at me again, then heads to Mrs Johnson’s table. I need to know what he's telling her. 

He comes back and sits down. 

Mrs Johnson stands up. "So, I’m changing my mind on the way I paired you guys up. Ivy with Xavier, and Jeremy with Tabby,”

Oh, no, she didn't. 

I stand up. “Mrs Johnson, what's the reason for the change?” I ask. I have this hunch that Xavier used his mind compulsion on her, which made her change her mind. Mrs Johnson has never done this before. 

“Don't question my change. It's for your own good,” she says, and I sit back down. 

Chris is about to stand up to say something, but I mouth, don't worry, and he holds his peace.

I decide to give Xavier a piece of my mind. Who does he think he is using his mind compulsion on our teacher to pair us up? Having vampires, especially Xavier at our school is the worst thing that could ever happen. 

I go to where his standing and step on his foot. 

He holds his foot, and growls in pain. “What was that for?” 

“The history project,” I reply. 

“So?” 

I take down my voice. “You're a vampire, am a wolf. Our kind don't mix,” 

“I’ll handle it,” He says, and walks off to where his sister is. 

There is something wrong with that guy, he isn't normal. I try my best to calm down, and go meet up with my friends. 

“Hey” I say. 

“What's up?” they reply in unity. 

“Just mad about the history project stuff,”

“Well, some ice cream will cheer you up,” Tabby says. 

“I’m not in the mood for ice cream. I have a lot going on,” I reply.

“But how are you gonna get home? Your bro left with Lola,” Lisa says. 

“I’ll take a taxi,” I reply. 

“You sure?” Elena asks. 

“Yeah, I’m gonna be home alone after all,” I say. 

“What you mean?” Elena asks. 

“My mom and aunt are going to a fancy hotel to relax, my brother and Lola are going to some beach house, and the twins have a sleepover at some human’s house,” I say. 

“Oh, you sure you don't wanna get some ice cream?” Tabby asks. 

I nod my head. They get in the car, and I wave them goodbye. 

After waiting for 30 minutes, it seems there's no taxi on the road. Great, now I will not get home time. What a day this has been. The only option I have is to walk home. 

A black Tesla car approaches me. I only know one person with this car, Xavier. 

He gets down from his car and approaches me. "Hey,” 

“What do you want?” I ask. 

“You need a ride home?” 

“No, thanks. I’ll walk,” I say and give him a smile. 

“You want to walk home?” 

“Yes, how is that any of your business?” 

“I'm offering to give you a ride. It will be quicker.” 

“Thanks, but no thanks,” 

“You know I am not gonna leave you alone till you get in the car,” 

“You wouldn't,” 

“Try me,” 

It's obvious he’s not gonna leave me, and I did want to get home on time. 

“Fine” I say. 

I'm about to open the door to the passenger seat, but he does it before I can. I get in and he shuts the door. He gets in and starts driving. 

I actually haven't taken time to analyze Xavier's features. His perfect chiseled face, those muscles, his green eyes, his black hair which is organized, and disorganized in a hot sort of way. They define perfection. 

“How are we going to handle the history project?” I ask. 

“I’ll come over to your house,” He says calmly. 

“Do you want to die?” I ask. "You want to come to the wolves' territory, and into the alpha’s house?” 

“I’ll sneak in,” 

“It's still perilous,” 

“Take it easy, it'll be fine,” 

“When are you coming over?”

“When I feel like it,” 

“When you feel like it?” I ask. I despise Xavier so much. He’s such a pain. 

“Yeah, I can come today or tomorrow,” 

“Not today,” 

“Why?” 

“I don't feel like working on the project today,” 

“Ok” He says. 

Our trip home was filled with silence, which was very weird and uncomfortable. One reason I didn't want to follow him. 

He drops me away from his territory, and mine. So we’re just in between. 

“Thanks,” I say, get down from the car, and leave.

I’m home alone, and it's divine. I wear a pair of shorts and a hoodie. I grab a bowl of ice cream from the freezer, and I decide to binge watch Ginny and Georgia. 

I receive a text message from Axel asking me if I am ok. I reply yes. I’m sure Chris told him to do this. He didn't send the message himself cause he knows I’ll get mad at him. He actually wanted Axel to stay over and watch over me, but I did not need a babysitter. I am good all by myself. He's a good, big older brother. He believes he’s older than me since he came out before me. 

“Hello” a voice says, and I’m about to scream when he places his hand over my mouth. It's Xavier. 

He takes his hand off. "Are you trying to kill me? "

“No,” 

“I told you not to come over.” 

“I don't take instructions from you,” 

I stand up. "Listen up. When I feel like it, we’ll work on this project, and it's your fault we’re working together. You used your mind compulsion on Mrs Johnson, didn't you?” 

He came closer and our faces were inches apart. "How do you know what mind compulsion is?” 

“I watched The Vampires Diary. It explains a lot about vampires, and it's really interesting,” 

“But you hate vampires,” 

“Not the ones in TVD or Twilight, they're hot you're not,” 

“Such a liar,”

“The truth is bitter,” I say, and he pulls me in by my waist. “Let go!!” I hit him, but it has no effect. 

“I know you think I’m hot. You think I didn't see you checking me out in the car?” He whispers in my ear, which sends shivers down my spine. 

I collect myself, trying not to stammer, “Axel is way hotter than you, and let go of me. Like I said before I. Don't. Like. You.”

“Princess, say whatever you want. I know you think I’m hot. Lying is unhealthy, okay?” He says, and let's go. What a jerk? 

“Please leave my house,” I say, “and how did you even come in?” 

“Through your window,” 

“Please leave through the window. Come over tomorrow, understood?” 

“Fine,” 

“One more thing, don't you ever call me princess?” 

“I’ll call you what I want,” He says and turns around. He's about to go when he turns to look at me. "One more thing, you look really hot in the hoodie and shorts.” He goes upstairs. 

I hate Xavier so much!!!!!!
