Ivy
“Dad, thanks for agreeing with us to go camping,” I said, and my dad gave me his brightest smile.
“It's no problem honey,” He said.
We arrived at the place we set up for our camp, when an odd-looking man came up to my dad. He had hatred filled in his eyes.
I didn't like him.
“Hello Max, or should I say the alpha of the blue moon pack,” he said.
“Honey, go stay at the back of that tree, and that come out till I say so,” my dad said to me, not taking his eyes off the man once, but pointed towards the tree.
“Yes, dad.” I said and did as I was told.
“What do you want?” My dad asked, which made me peek from behind the tree.
“Nothing much,” He replied and came closer to my dad.
It all happened so quickly. The man stabbed my dad repeatedly, and my dad wasn't able to fight since he was weak. He fell to the floor. He brought out his fangs and pierced it into my dad's neck. Before I could get there, the man was gone.
“Dad, wake up,” I said sobbing and shook him. He didn't respond. He was bleeding profusely.
My mom and siblings arrived, and kept on asking what happened.
“He….. He….. kil…. killed dad.” I said. That was all I could say.
I wake up from my dream sweating. It's all a dream, an awful nightmare, that happened. I check my phone for the time. It's still 4:30 am.
I lay on my bed, and my head keeps going back to that nightmare. Why did I dream about that? The last time I dreamt about that was years ago. I need water.
I go downstairs and see my twin brother, Chris, sitting at the dining table. He looks like a mess. My brother usually looks good, and the ladies kiss the ground he walks on, but now he just looks like trash. I guess he's overthinking the alpha stuff.
My brother is going to become the alpha of our pack, and he is overthinking it. He feels he doesn't have the potential, and he feels I deserve it, since I worked hard for it. It isn't a lie. I worked off my butt for that position. I want to rewrite history and become the alpha of our pack, but the dumb rule my ancestors made prevents ladies from being the alpha. Ladies could only be the Luna, how sexist of them.
I take a seat beside him.
“Don't tell me you're overthinking this alpha stuff,” I ask, and gulp down my water.
“We both know you deserve that position more than me. You worked your butt off for it,” He replies.
“Yes I did, but the rule didn't change, and it's not your fault, so stop beating yourself up,”
“Yeah, but I am kind of worried, how about if I am not a great leader like dad?”
“You will,”
“How are you so sure of that?”
“Because you are an amazing person and believe it or not, you can rule.”
“You always know how to cheer me up,” he says, and gives me his brightest smile.
“Now get some sleep. Be ready for your big day,” I say, and we both head upstairs.
~^~
The one thing that always relaxes me is when I go for a jog every morning. I am a track and field athlete, so I have to stay in shape, same applies for my siblings.
Chris is a basketball player. My two little siblings, who are also twins, also play sports. Louis plays soccer and Olivia plays volleyball. My mom isn't really into sports, but she plays golf during her mom's club every Saturday, and my dad played hockey.
It's time for my brother to become the alpha, and I hold my necklace, the necklace my dad gave me. He gave the necklace to all my siblings. It's a green moonstone, and it's so beautiful. I hold back my tears. I will not cry today, not today.
I head downstairs, and my mom was looking for something in her bag. I watch her as she looks for God knows what. She doesn't even notice my presence.
“Found it,” she says excitedly as she brings out her car keys. What do we need the car for? The venue for my brother's coronation isn't that far. For God’s sake, it's a family van. If it were my brother's Highlander, I might agree.
“What do we need the family van for?” I ask.
“To arrive in style, honey, your brother's about to become the alpha. That's no joke,” she says with a smile on her face. My mom likes her things grand, I like my things simple.
“You know what, mom? I think I’ll walk with Lisa, Tabby, and Elena,” I reply, and leave before she says anything.
I head to Tabby's house, and Elena and Lisa are there just like they said.
The four of us have been friends for quite a while, and we are neighbours. Well, we live in the woods actually, all wolves live in the woods. We have our territory. It's like an estate, for example. The vampires also stay in the woods, but they have their own territory, and they know better than to trespass on our territory. Though they do it sometimes
“Hi guys,” I say as Tabby ushers me in.
“Hey” they all say in unity.
“Aren't you going for your brother's coronation, or what do you call it?” Tabby asks.
I explain what happened, and they say it's no biggie. I can walk with them.
My friends are the best
Tabby, brown skin beauty, with her curly brown hair and brown eyes.
Lisa, blonde hair, her beautiful white skin tone, and those blue eyes that pierce through anyone's soul.
Elena is basically just sitting on the fence with her skin tone, her black beautiful eyes, complementing her skin tone perfectly.
“I can't believe we're going back to school tomorrow,” Elena says as we leave the house. God, I forgot completely about that.
“For real?” Lisa says, rubbing her hands on her face. Guess I’m not the only one.
I’ve been so caught up in proving to the whole pack that I’m going to be a great alpha. That was a complete waste, anyway. I suggested great ideas for the betterment of the pack, and showed them how strong I am. I literally beat my brother hands down. But yet they just say good job Ivy, even my mom, does the same thing.
~^~
We arrive at where the coronation is supposed to take place, but my siblings and mom aren't there yet.
It isn't a surprise to me, my mom believes arriving late makes a person important. My mom likes extravagant things, I and my siblings are the complete opposites.
Our family van pulls up, and Chris comes out looking embarrassed, but the twins don't care. They go to meet up with their friends. Chris went to meet up with his girlfriend Lola and his friends, same with my mom.
Lola and Chris have been dating for five years. They started dating because of me. Lola and I are friends, and because of our friendship, they both fell in love.
Lola is a cheerleader. She’s tall, with ginger hair, brown eyes, and beautiful white skin tone. Guys worship the ground she walks on, but she's only interested in my brother.
~^~
The coronation went well, and my brother is now officially the alpha of our pack.
“So Chris is now the alpha?” Someone says, and everyone turns their head to where the sound comes from. It's Ralph, the leader of the vampires. He is with his son, Xavier, his daughter, Irene and some other vampires.
This isn't their first time coming here. They introduced themselves on one occasion.
“We told you to leave and never come back. What's so hard to understand?” Chris says, obviously pissed.
“Take it easy,” He says, and takes a step forward.
“Back off,” I say, and stand face to face with him. I can feel my canines elongating.
“You know you could have been a better alpha,” He says, with an evil smile. I don't like him.
“Get off our territory,” I growl.
“Feisty,”
“Be careful how you speak to him,” Xavier says with a devilish smirk.
I walk up to him. "Then get off our territory”
“The third time anyone mentions that, things will get ugly,” Chris says.
“All I came to say,” Ralph starts, and I turn to look at him, “is you all made a mistake. Ivy will be a great leader, but you still chose Chris. It's none of my business anyway, just your loss. Let's leave,”
“See you around,” Xavier says, and they leave in the flash of an eye.
“That was courageous of you,” I hear a voice say, and turn around to see it's Axel, my brother's best friend.
“Thanks,” I reply.
Axel and my brother have been friends for a while, and he is hot. Brown curly hair, dark skin tone, deep brown eyes, pearl white teeth, when he smiles, and I could see his abs through his white shirt. He can make any girl melt, even me. But I don't feel good right now.
“You look a bit startled,” He says, and holds my hand. I notice they're shaking. Of course they’re shaking. I just stood face to face with my dad's killer.
“Don't worry, I’ll be fine, I just wanna go home,”
“I’ll escort you, if you don't mind,”
“That’d be lovely,”
While we were walking, we say nothing to each other when Axel finally breaks the silence.
“I understand why you're startled. Everything is gonna be fine,” He says, and I give him a smile.
“I sure hope so,” I reply.
I really hope everything is going to be fine
Ivy Summer is over, and it's time for me to go back to school, which I don't wanna. Not that I am bad at school, it's just so stressful. I go with Elena, Tabby, and Lisa to school. I wanted to go with Chris, but Lola came over, and I changed my mind. My brother and Lola are always smooching when they're driving. I so do not plan on dying in a car crash because my brother and his girlfriend were smooching. It's an awful way to die! We get to school and head to our lockers. Our lockers are right beside each other. Some people come over to say hi, and we talk a little. One thing I love about my school is that there is no drama. We didn't have any bullies or mean girls. My school is peaceful, and I love my life without drama. Someone catches my eye. Well, everyone's eyes. It's Xavier, Irene and his vampires friends. This is not good. Wolves, vampires and humans in the same school is going to be bad, real bad. Xavier“She’s
Ivy Having vampires in our school is horrible, but having Xavier look at me with that devilsih smirk on his face is even worst. He keeps on bugging me, even after the warning I gave him. I swear I want to kill him so bad, and I’m sure I probably will soon kill him at this rate. “So today I’ll be pairing you guys up for your history project,” mrs Johnson says. I hope I get paired up with anyone, literally anyone except Xavier. It's gonna be really bad, if I get paired with Xavier. I would rather get paired with any other vampire in this class except Xavier. I hate him that much. I don't pay attention till she gets to Chris. “Chris with Axel, Lisa with Elena, Tabby with Ivy,” she says, and I want to get up and dance. Thank God I don't get paired up with Xavier, like how messed up will that be. “Jeremy with Xavier” She sits down. Well, that's not so bad, but it is kind of. Xavier Ivy is a really tough nut to crack, but it's not impossible to win her over. Patience is the answer. Whatever it takes, I am gonna make her fall for me, even if it means to stop feeding on humans, I’ll do it. The good thing is that I got us to work on our history project together. I’m sure it will bring us closer. The funny thing is that she was checking me out, and refused to admit it. I know she thinks I’m hot. I hear a knock on the door and scream for whoever it is to come in. It’s Irene. “What's up?” I ask. “Leave Ivy alone,” she says, and sits on the beanbag in my room. “Why?” “Because it's manipulation, and all the wolves will think that vampires are manipulators,” “Why do you care?” “I think you know why”“Because you still have a crush on Chris, huh?” I say. My sister has the huge crush on Chris. She's been in love with him for a while. “Yes, I do,”“He has a girlfriend,” “She's cheating on him,” she replies. Some few years back we saw Lola w
