Lana’s POV

“He said that my blade did this.” I moan at Calvin who just nods his head.

“He said that I’m going to die because of this.” Again, Calvin just nods his head at me, only irritating me further. “Do you believe that or is he telling me a lie?”

“I haven’t ever known of Blake lying.”

“What is that supposed to mean?” I throw myself down on to the bed the moment Calvin opens the door but he just hovers in the room. Like he didn't know what to do with himself.

“For someone that seems to have things straight, you certainly don’t seem to be able to read between the lines.” He scratches his messy chocolate curls and avoids making eye contact with me. "Pretty much makes sense why you don't really know much about your own kind."

"What?"

“Alpha Blake is pretty much an open book. You always get your answers, it just might be that you don’t want to hear it.” His dark eyes shine brightly and his response had me running previous conversations with Blake through my mind.

“Why did he m

Logan’s POVI had already built a small army, preparing them for what we might face. They had known that something was wrong, they just couldn’t bring themselves to ask. I wasn’t always an easy going Alpha, I liked to keep my guard when it came to my private life.We were already making a move when I felt the searing pain radiate out from the mark on my chest. I may not be able to link her but my mark could tell me everything that I needed to know about if she was safe or not. She was in danger.Freya was keeping me informed from her hde out. But she hadn’t seen Lana either. It was like she was being kept locked up and I hated it. My problem wasn’t just Blake anymore, he had started something that there was no coming back from. A war with the vampires and either way there was going to be a lot of deaths. Deaths that could have been prevented. The second time the pain fired out along my chest, it brought me to my knees. The way it radiated through me, I thought this was it. For a mome

Blakes’s POVHe looked at me like I was mad. His face turns red as he growls. His purple eyes were brighter than I had ever seen them.“Her dagger?” He growls “How the fuck did she get that?”“You know about it?”“Of course I fucking know. Those daggers are linked to my family. Though the last one that I saw apart from Lana's was my mothers.”“But you never had one. You always said as a kid that you wanted one.”“I never needed one! I am more powerful than a blade.” His nostrils were flaring now“Then shut up and let me help our mate.” I wave my arm at him“What did you say?” His voice was dropping lower and lower.“That’s what she is now. OURS! Because I had to mark her just to fucking save her. Now wind your neck in because right now, the only thing that is helping her is my blood.”His fist meets the wall. The plaster cracks and pieces drop away from the wall. Lana stirs but doesn’t open her eyes.“Men! I need you to focus. This girl isn’t going to get better if you two are at log

Lana’s POV“What are you doing here?” I jumped up from the rock. My feet causing a ripple in the dark, still water.“Why are you here, Lana?” I look up into his confused grey eyes as he questions me.I look around at the water. The rippling had faded and once again it was still. I didn’t understand how Blake had found me. And I didn’t know how to answer him. This wasn’t the first time I had been here.“Lana?” He calls out to me as he takes another step forward. The confusion in his eyes disappears as his brows knit together as he registers my calmness. “You have been here before?”I still didn’t know where ‘here’ was. But I had, just not for a long time. It was peaceful, it brought calm to the chaos. It was quiet and sometimes that is exactly what I needed.Crouching down, I skim my hand across the smooth surface of the dark water. It may be calm and quiet here but everything was dark. The only light came from the half moon hovering above us. Casting long black shadows on the ground,

Blake’s POV“What’s wrong?” I check her over but couldn’t see any signs of anything wrong. The black lines had continued to fade until there was nothing other than my lightning bolt mark.My hit to her chest had restarted her heart. It had brought her back to life. Not something that I should do because when our time is up. It was up for good!“Lana, say something!” Logan shouted at her.“Lana are you okay?” I ask through our link. I knew she heard me, but she doesn’t respond with words. Her brown eyes widen and she starts clawing at her mouth. But there was nothing wrong with her mouth. Panic reared inside of me, was this because I had brought her back? She grows more and more frantic, her nails ripping into the skin around her lips, blood seeps out over her skin.“What the fuck is the matter with her?” Logan tries to help me pull her hands away. Lana’s brown eyes danced between us, like she didn’t understand what we were doing. Or why we were stopping her from hurting herself.“She’

Logan’s POVThis was ridiculous. I was the Alpha of Alpha’s and I was listening to him. He thought he knew everything, he thinks he knows Lana, but I knew her better.“We need to speak to Freya. As I have already said, the only way for a witch to do that to Lana is if there is a blood link. Meaning Freya or Kendra.”“Fine, but I’m telling you now, it won’t be Freya. She wouldn’t have gone to all this trouble.” She could have screwed Lana over multiple times by now, but she hadn't.“Are you sure about that?” He cocks an eyebrow at me and shakes his head. “You have more than lost your touch, Logan.”“Shut up and I will prove you wrong.” I tell him as I summoned Freya. It would take Freya a while to return, she was still watching over this pack that Blake had created.I still didn’t believe it was Freya. It couldn’t be. She was busy and from what I know of her, she isn’t exactly the greatest at multitasking.“I’ve summoned her, but she’s going to be a while.” He knew exactly what I meant

  • Hunting the Alpha   Eighty.

Blake’s POVI knew I was right. I didn’t care if he believed me or not. It was Freya. It would be to easy for it to be Kendra. To obvious.“Should we follow him?” Leo asks and I shake my head. If we followed Logan, there was a good chance that an actual fight would break out between us. Not something either of us needed with Lana the way she was.“No, but I want you to do some snooping.”“What am I looking for?”“Find out why Logan is holding everything so close to his chest. I believe he knows something more than he is letting on. He is certain that there will be no Blood Pack.”“I thought you told me the visions were clear.”“They are. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t hiding information.”“Wouldn’t it be wiser to work together? The Blood Pack rising isn’t in anyone's interest.” Leo tilts his head as he waits for an answer. “You think he is going to do it. You think he is going to be the one to recreate it!”“Keep hold of your tongue. I don’t know for certain but… there is a possibilit

Lana’s POV “Another vision?” The question comes out more aggressively than I intended. I couldn't remember it, yet it seemed like Blake had seen it. “It would seem so, yes.” Blake mutters. But I see how he watches Logan. There was something they weren’t telling me. It had to be something to do with why I had been tied down. “Lana, it means things have changed.” Blake tells me. “They have? But that still doesn’t explain why you tied me down or why Leo is here.” Blake starts to tell me something and Logan tells him to shut up. They glare at each other and it’s Leo that tells me the truth. He tells me how a witch had taken over me. Was using me to see what was happening with Blake and Logan. Logan tries to shut him up but Leo continued anyway. “It’s someone you are connected to Lana. Someone related to you.” Leo smiles. “They had to do what they could to contain you.” “Freya?” I ask, shocked by what I was hearing. “Yes” Blake and Leo speak in unison while Logan shouts over them.

Blakes POV“Finally decided to show up then!” I snap at Calvin as he saunters into the room.“I didn’t shift. Didn’t see the point.” Calvin retorts, but he focuses on Logan. “So this must be the Alpha of Alpha’s. There is not much to you, is there? I thought you might be... bigger!”“Watch your mouth, This is my pack, not some half arsed pack of Blakes.” Calvin shrugs his shoulders, turning his attention to me. “Where is she?”“Freya is out cold, but we think it might be someone else instead.” I mutter. I couldn't believe that this Abby had made a blood bond with a wolf.“So you called me over here for a wild goose chase?”“Calvin, pack it in!” I growled, warning him that he was pushing it too far. I didn’t care that he was my younger brother. I was only willing to put up with so much.Calvin finally shuts his mouth, leaning against the wall as he observes Logan and I. “Can I go then?” “No, You stay put.” Logan snaps, “Maybe you can knock some sense into your brother before I do!” C

One year laterLana’s POVI never heard from Blake after that day. It was impossible for him to link me after I broke the bond between us. But it didn’t stop his wolves trying to locate me.For the first six months, it even made the news. That there was a new Alpha of Alpha’s. They gave my name and description, promising a reward if I was returned to them. But as time went on, my appearance on the news became less and less. The humans were losing interest. I was never spotted. I had had my hair permanently relaxed so I didn’t have to deal with the curls. I wore shades when it was sunny or brown contacts when the weather was rubbish. If I went out, I never went out alone. I was always with Dillon. A human. It had taken a couple of months before we officially became a couple. Though that didn’t stop us fooling around before then. Not once did I feel pressured with him. Not once did I feel like he was hiding something. He never hesitated to answer a question. He was different, he wasn’t

Lana’s POV“I already know that.”“No you don’t. Not entirely.”Switching off the car engine. I turn to look at him properly. “What do you mean?”“Blake controls what he wants to control.”“I don’t follow.”“You really are naive, Lana. They told me that you were hard to convince. That you didn’t understand pack life. But you really can’t see what is right in front of you.” He pulls open the jeeps door, grabbing my hand, he places it on his chest. Just like Blake, he had no heartbeat.“How?” I mutter“We are all the same. Anyone that is under Blakes leadership ends up like us.”“Why would you follow him?” “Because it’s always too late. By the time we realise, there is no turning back.”“I don’t get it?”“Holy shit, Lana.” He shakes his head at me. “Are you just not willing to see it, is that it?”“See what? Blake said he made a deal.”“And you didn’t think to question it. He is the reason you killed Logan. He is the reason you chose him. He is the reason for everything.”“Why?”“Becau

Lana’s POVLogan leans into me, gasping for breath. The Blade slips further into his heart. I couldn’t believe that I had done it. That I was the one to kill him. That I was the one to finally stop him.Xavier had told Blake that I was in the back of the car. Blake had talked me through the plan. He made it clear that I could not speak back to him. That if I were, it would give me away. That Logan would know.He told me that they were tracking me, that I would have to take a chance and throw myself from the car. I did exactly what I was told. The moment my feet hit the ground, I run into the forest. Logan had been steps behind me. If he had lunged forward, he probably would have got me. But Blake somehow pulls me away. Lifting my feet off the ground as he placed a hand over my mouth. He wasn’t alone. I could just make out Xavier and Abby hiding among the trees. Abby's eyes were looking in the direction I had just come from. Her lips moving. As Blake hands me the dagger. I felt the sa

Logan’s POVShe had given herself to him. I could smell his stench all over her as I held her close. But she would be mine again soon enough. She doesn’t scream, she doesn’t fight me, even when I pin her against the door. She doesn’t even try to link Blake. In fact she does everything that I ask. Pulling her out of the window, I drop us to the ground. Checking that we were entirely alone before heading into the forest.Blakes men were stupid. They were easy enough to get past undetected. It helped that Lana followed me like a sheep. That she did everything I asked.Pushing her into the back seats of my hidden jeep, she still remains quiet. There was no heavy breathing, there weren’t even any tears. She looks back over her shoulder as I drive away from the new pack that Blake had created.“Don’t you dare link him.” I warn her. If she had already done so, there would be no chance that I would get out of the pack grounds alive. Her head moves up and down. Her brown eyes wide as they lo

Lana’s POVHe was so angry. The grey of his eyes deepened as he snapped at me, pointing to the door. He must have seen the vision too. It was the only answer as to why he was so angry.“I don’t want to see Freya. I want to know what the vision means. I know you saw it too.”“It’s you.” He takes a step back. “It was never Logan. It was always you.”“I don’t know what you mean!” I did though. He had seen it as clearly as I had. The dead bodies piled up underneath me. The blood that was streaked across my face. How he and Logan were both looking up to me.“You know exactly what I mean Lana. Don’t try and play the fool now.”“I’m not… I…” I had no idea what to say and sit myself back down in his office chair. “I would never.”“Wouldn’t you? It’s not like you are sin free is it? You have killed wolves in your bid to find him. Your aim was to stop him.”“I didn’t, that was Abby. I was just… just there. I don’t want to do that. Blake’s POVIt was like we had never been apart. Everything came flooding back. Every inch of her body was just as I remembered.Hurrying up the stairs, I run into Freya. She frowns and then asks if I had seen Lana. She didn't normally speak to me unless Calvin or Lana were around.“Yes, I’m just retrieving some clothes for her.”Her frown deepens until her brows suddenly shoot upwards, a big smile on her face. “Could you just tell Lana that I need to speak to her, like urgently.”“Is there a problem?”“Not exactly. Maybe, I guess. Nothing to do with Logan or anything thats happening.”She spins around and I catch the extra scent on her. She was pregnant.“You want me to tell Lana that you’re pregnant?”She turns back to me. Her eyes wide. “How did you know?”“I’m not stupid, your scent has altered to accommodate the hormones.”“I know you don’t like me Alpha Blake, this wasn’t supposed to happen. Not now, not ever.”“Have you told Calvin?”She shakes her head at me.“Then maybe start

Lana’s POV“Logan is recreating the Blood Pack.” I mutter, casting my eyes in Blakes direction.“I warned you, Lana. I warned you about this shit. You should have stuck with the plan.”“The witch finally says something that I can agree with.” Blake sits on a bench against the furthest wall.I pull the collar of my tshirt down, “Can you get rid of this?”“It’s a mate bond, only rejection can.”“It’s not a true bond.”She gazes at me with her brown eyes, “He never confirmed it?”“No.”“He finally fucked up.” She mutters to herself. A smile spread across her face. “Lana, he screwed up.”“What do you mean, witch?” Blake spits on the ground. Clenching his teeth together.“That mark. He was supposed to confirm it. Kendra put it on you when she saw his mark. She used his blood to form a bond between you. Replicating his mark.”“Kendra? How do you know this?”I had had the mark for as long as I could remember.“Before she figured out the danger of what Logan could do. She thought connecting y

Lana’s POVThere were talks every day. Some that I was shielded from, others where they encouraged me to talk. But I never had anything to say. Other than feeling like my head was going to explode.Blake was growing more and more pissed off when no one could come up with a plan. What Blake wanted to do was use me. I had agreed to it. But so many of the pack hated the idea. They thought that I would turn on them, or that Logan would use me to get exactly what he wanted. It didn’t help that Logan continued to call to me. He seemed to think that he could talk to me whenever he wanted. It was impossible for me to block him. He would never ask me how I was. It was always questioning me about Blakes plans. When I didn’t answer, he would grow mad and cut me off. And for a moment, I would find relief. He was choosing the Blood Pack over me.I had stopped trying to fight it or trying to hide it. Blake would always know. He had already said that Logan was trying to break me down. I finally beli

Blake’s POVFive days had passed and there had been no sign of him. It was like he had fallen off the Earth. I sent people out everyday. But there wasn’t even a single piece of evidence that suggested he had returned home or that he had come anywhere near my pack.Lana wasn’t herself either. She would wander the house. Often deep in thought. I tried to talk to her but it was like talking to a brick wall. Anything that I said just didn’t sink in. Sometimes I would find her in a corner, muttering to Freya. They would stop talking the moment they saw me.I didn’t like the witch being here, but I had very little choice in the matter. Calvin had already marked the witch. If I threw her out, then I would have problems with my brother and Lana. It was a shitty scenario that I was trying my hardest to ignore. Aiming to focus on the bigger problem of Logan.More and more of my pack from Europe turned up everyday. New homes were constantly being built on the land. It was expanding quickly, but
