We Must Go

The Dragon King’s eyes travelled to the west. From there he could sense power greater than anything he had ever felt before. His eyes stung from merely looking in the direction.

“The entire city is shaking, even with the barrier protecting us,” the Dragon King mumbled as he grasped the arm of his trembling chair. Komfo Anokye had repaired the barrier around the Citadel on Mane’s request. It was stronger and better than it had been before, so it should not be easily breached; yet even with the power of Basileus, the tremors were travelling all the way here. He didn’t need anyone to tell him that other cities were most likely devastated by now.

“Whatever is going on there, I hope it ends quickly,” the Dragon King sighed and sank into his trembling throne. The chair he sat on was a perfect reflection of his innermost feelings right now, for he was indeed afraid. When he was young, there was nothing that he feared, but as he grew older, the number of things that he had to protect grew lar
