This was a huge mistake. Suzanne's feet refused to move.
'O'Izzy please join your team mates,' the instructor told her, a bit annoyed. 'Um....you're...you're sure those are my er ....squad?' Suzanne asked uncertainly.
He looked quite irritated now.
Andrew scoffed, not looking up from his book. Ryan didn't even glance at her or look in her direction. Only Ethan waved. 'Oy! Over here!'
'That, O'Izzy is your squad for sure now stop asking rather dumb questions!' the instructor replied sternly and stopped what he was doing briefly to focus his undivided attention on her.
Suzanne gulped. 'Kay,' in a small voice, noticing that every one was now staring at her. She felt several jealous eyes of the other girls piercing her as she remained rooted to the spot.
She walked towards them and it seemed like slow motion as she moved.
She fina
'Silverstin?!' Suzanne quipped, amazed. The guy that stood before them was the hero league's best student. It was rumored that he had worked for Shades for a while but his power was too much for them to contain and in order not for him to be eaten up by darkness he was sent back to the hero league since they'd assumed being around his mates would bring out his positive side.Nothing changed. He was the most popular hero. Even new born babies knew his name. But he was rumored to be strict and rules-abiding. He also didn't do anything fun.He was a Rolex. His powers weren't fully known yet but so far, he could turn people within a sixty mile radius into ice. He mainly dealt with ice-based things. When he was still a kid, about three different series of painful experiments were run on him by his dad, who worked for the rogue heroes. He
'Let's go,' Aiden said to the rest of Squad 10.'But...' Ethan looked in the direction Suzanne had run out through. 'She'll come around soon,' Aiden said without looking back as he kept walking away, the rest of the squad tailing him.Reminds me of Ryan. Ethan thought.Aiden led them round the building, getting them more familiar with the grounds. He gave them each a map in order for them to survey the whole place on their own.Afterwards he led them to a spot outside the garden where they'd meet up with their coach.'While we wait, I'll like you to keep me acquainted with your skills and strengths,' Aiden told them.'Shouldn't you be more concerned about our weaknesses and ambitions?' Andrew asked. Aiden scowled. 'A hero has no weakness, so if you think you're hero material you'd know that fact!'
Suzanne got down at her bus stop.'Bye Suzanne, till tomorrow!' Justin waved from the bus. 'Yeah. Bye!' she waved back and started walking home. She heard quiet footsteps, she looked out of the corner of her eye. Someone was following her from the shadows. She frowned. I can't conclude yet. He might be a passer-by.Suzanne took the next turn and walked left and suspiciously, the steps also moved in the same direction. She hid behind some buildings and as the person moved forward she rushed behind him with a dagger aimed for his side. She secured a tight grip on him but was unable to see his face.'Care to tell me why you're stalking me?!' She asked in a low, dangerous tone, or at least what she thought was a low dangerous tone.He scoffed. 'Why would I stalk you?' She quickly released him. That voice
Suzanne woke up quite alarmed. She was feeling quite odd today. She freshened up and went downstairs to get her breakfast. She munched her cereal slowly. Why did it feel like she was forgetting something? Something important?Shane looked puzzled when he saw her downstairs.'Um--' he started. But Suzanne continued slurping her cereal. 'Call me loser one more time and I promise to cut off your tongue!' she said to him.He scratched his hair.'Actually that's not it. You know I always skip first period in class everyday, so I go late.'He replied.'So?' Suzanne asked, irritated. He was stating a fact she already knew.He smirked. 'So if I, a usual late goer am headed out by this time, what does that make you?' he asked cockily.Suzanne gasped and dashed into her room.
'Your goal is to--' Gwen was interrupted by her emergency signal. 'I have to take this. Aiden's in charge now.'She faced Aiden. 'You know the basics, you'll submit the report of their trial at the end of the day.'He nodded curtly.'Sure.'Gwen did a little salute before she took off. Aiden turned to them a cold frown on his face.'Okay. Here's what you have to do,' he started. They moved closer to him. He showed them some gems and had it passed around before he collected them again.'Buried in the soil are these objects; rubies, diamonds and sapphires. Now you'll get a mark depending on which you find first. If you find a ruby you're disqualified and if a member is gone you all fail. If you find a sapphire you're not going to participate anymore which means you're also disqualified.'He smirked. 'As you know if one of you is
Ryan stopped by a tree and crouched to assess his situation. The whereabouts of the gems were unknown and if he just started digging anyhow there was a 50% chance he could stumble on the Emerald or any other gem.It was too risky to gamble. He got out a blindfold. I'll just have to work with my other senses then. He'd seen the gems and felt them. While the other two were sort of rough-ish, the diamond was rhombus in shape. He could use that. His eyes strayed towards were he'd left the others. He hissed as he tied on his blindfold. Who needs those losers? As long as he doesn't trigger the alarm that'll sense he'd found any other gem than diamond he should be fine.He turned on his gadget and started blasting the ground making a hole emerge. This would be quick.I'll find th
Andrew checked his watch, time was almost up but he had found the diamond. He marked the spot with an X. Now to find those guys before they accidentally found those other gems.He looked at the tracking devices he had secretly planted on each of them.He sighed and started heading towards them. He could tell from their yells that they weren't really far away, or maybe they were but they were just really noisy. He shook his head at that thought and sighed again.Watching over those guys was really annoying.~~~Ethan growled again struggling in Suzanne's grasp. 'Let me go, Suzanne! I've got to teach this moron a lesson!' he struggled on.Ryan scoffed. 'Get out of my way, both of you!''You know Ryan--he kinda has a point. I mean you were blind folded and the instructio
They all continued walking silently. 'Suzanne you--' Ethan started. She shook her head, suddenly looking serious.'It's nothing, I just couldn't stand by while someone made our team helpless,' she replied.'Team?' Ryan asked quietly.'Yeah. Team,' Suzanne replied.Andrew was deep in thought with his hands stuffed in his pocket. That Suzanne! I guess I underestimated her;to think she'd be the one to save us out of that mess.He took a quick glance at her talking to Ethan.Great timing! Right Dad?He stopped at the spot. 'This is it,' he announced to the others.'So--who gets the diamond?' Ryan asked.Oh...yeah! That's right! Only one of them can pass.Suzanne looked down sadly. Ethan looked unsure. Ryan looked like he could kill just to get his hands on the pr
The alarm clock beeped.A brunette stirred lazily on the bed. She tried to find the snooze button all to no avail. She clenched her hand into a fist and knocked the alarm clock away from her bedside table, sending it up in the air and crashing into her room's wall, making a big dent and destroying the alarm clock along with it.Suzanne turned to her other side to resume her sleep. This was Herotapolis, where the heroes lived. In this city there lived real, breathing heroes. You could tell already by the name of the city right?Hero League was an organization that pooled together normal people and trained them to become heroes. From chasing of bank robbers to extinguishing of fires in burning buildings, to serving as body guards to important people as well as getting stranded animals down from trees, or odd places, the heroes were ever availa
Suzanne yawned as she got off her bed.It had been a week since the E-rank exam. Their E-rank crest had been given to Coach Gwen but she said they had one final minor test to take before they were given their final E-ranks and then they'll meet their M.D corp three days after.Suzanne got her brush and combed her hair.Ryan was discharged the previous day so she knew he would be present today. She smiled at the thought. She had to look her best today. She got out her ribbon and packed her hair in a neat pony tail. She decorated her hair with her accessories.'Wassup, loser,' Shane leaned on her door post.'Hey Shane,' She decided to start ignoring the loser stuff ever since she heard that Shane had followed the guards that were taking Kyle away to give him a big talking to then he had landed a punch...or had attempted to at least.'Andrew's
'The judges have decided that Kyle Quole will be scratched out of the hero-league program due to the behavior he exibited today. But this decision shouldn't affect squad 12 so they shall be assigned a new Slad to join their group. Marissa Cartwell,' the Tifex said.'She has all her complete points and therefore can not be a hinderance to the team,' he concluded on that matter.'Suzanne O'Izzy, the judges have decided you are granted a win due to the situation on ground. Hence your battle with Kyle is crowned with you as the winner,' he stated.Suzanne couldn't stop her wide grin. Man, was she lucky!'And since Ryan Ziantez and Caleb Marsh had been shot, both will be given a pass too, however Andrew Frankstin and Lucas Will who remains standing will have the last battle. Their battle shall hold and the total counting shall rest on their shoulders.'The Tifex announced.
The crowd watched in open mouthed amazement.'Jesus, please help Suzanne,' Aiden prayed silently, his head bowed. It was the only thing he could do.Kevin glanced at him before facing the ring again. 'You sure are a terrible CIN, Aiden,' Kevin chuckled. 'I'm sure when CIN Rodrick was your age, he sure did a better job.'Aiden rolled his eyes.Suzanne yelped as a bullet whizzed past her.'He has a gun!' she shrieked, cowing on the spot. The comentator didn't know what to say. In all his years of moderating in contests, this was the first time someone wasn't fighting back.Shane watched as his twin ran around the ring while her bulky opponent, who was assigned to face her, fired off flames from the second gun he held.'Stay still!' Kyle hissed at her as he pursued her.
The noise of the crowd had quietened down. Now most eyes, if not all, were on the Squads that stood in a straight line assembled below. The Tifex moved about as he addressed the audience and the Slads.'Here are the instructions, listen up because I'm going to say this only once and that's it.' The Tifex said to the squads. He gestured to the field.'Over there, behind those red lines, the different squads facing each other will stand. But note, one person faces off only a person from the other team. And the match between the two will last for just a minute. The person that remains standing after the one minute time laspe will be the winner.'He looked back at the judges and nodded stiffly.'Since there are four members in each team, each team member will face the person he's facing opposite on the other line. If the time is up a
The squads that passed the first round were all assembled on a straight line and were made to face the panel that came from the headquarters. At their right was a battle ground with red lines marked close to the end of both sides, leaving a vast amount of space for dueling in the middle. A Tifex stood in the middle of the mini-field to act as a referee for the contestants. At the four corners of the huge wall, lots of seats were raised on a higher podium so as to prevent the fighters from reaching the onlookers.Defense mechanism shields were also put up in a form of glass around the places the audience would seat.Hence it was assured to be a safe match. The audience could easily watch the match below them without any worry of being injured by the fighters. The judges had a separate seat from everyone else. The CINs' seats were some feet behind the judges
Andrew stopped using his laptop and looked up. It all makes sense now. He thought. He then snorted as he looked past Ryan who gave him a puzzled expression which was ignored. Andrew stood up and headed for the door. He walked ten feet away from it and stopped, a frown of concentration was deeply etched on his face.'What are you doing?' Ryan asked with mild interest. Andrew continued to ignore him.Andrew bent down and felt the ground. 'Just as I thought,' he muttered to himself.'What is it Andrew?' Ryan asked again. He walked up to Andrew's side.Just then Suzanne and Ethan ran up to them, breathless.'Where's the package?' Ryan asked them both, extending a hand towards them swiftly. Ethan shrugged and raked his hand through his hair. 'We don't have it. We didn't see anything.'Ryan's gaze hardened as he appraised Ethan and Suzanne coldly.
'How are we going to find anything in this vast land?' Ryan wondered aloud.Andrew was deep in thought too.'And the others must not find our package! It's an impossible task!' Suzanne wailed.Ethan cupped his hands over both his eyes like a binocular. 'I can't even see the end of this land....,' he whistled. 'Then there's the forest and mountains. Quite an impossible task, I'll say,' he concluded warily.Andrew paced around, deep in thought. An hour is hardly enough for searching. We could search for months and not find it....there's more to it than this. He continued thinking hard.We are allowed to find other Squads' packages...that must mean something. Andrew got out his laptop and started working on it.'We are doomed! Doomed I tell you!' Suzanne stamped her foot on the ground. The ground shook everytime she brought her leg down. 'Doomed
Suzanne shuffled from one feet to the other nervously. Aiden had picked them all up so that no one would turn up late. They all stood at the entrance of the extremely large hall of Super Hero High.Aiden flashed his ID card for the perusal of the guards that were stationed at the backstage entrance for only the contestants. They turned and entered. A small table was at the entrance of the main hall. That room led to various sections and other compartments of the hall but all entrances had a guard beside them. They had to check in with one of the Tifex. Those are the instructions that are in charge of every examination. The main room was beginning to get filled up as more squads trooped in with their CINs.A Tifex headed towards them.'I'm Silverstin. The CIN of squad 10. We've registered since two days ago,' Aiden told him. The r
