They all continued walking silently. 'Suzanne you--' Ethan started. She shook her head, suddenly looking serious.
'It's nothing, I just couldn't stand by while someone made our team helpless,' she replied.
'Team?' Ryan asked quietly.
'Yeah. Team,' Suzanne replied.
Andrew was deep in thought with his hands stuffed in his pocket. That Suzanne! I guess I underestimated her;to think she'd be the one to save us out of that mess.
He took a quick glance at her talking to Ethan.
Great timing! Right Dad?
He stopped at the spot. 'This is it,' he announced to the others.
'So--who gets the diamond?' Ryan asked.
Oh...yeah! That's right! Only one of them can pass.
Suzanne looked down sadly. Ethan looked unsure. Ryan looked like he could kill just to get his hands on the pr
Suzanne, Ryan, Andrew and Ethan all sat on the grass while Aiden and Gwen sat in front of them.'Tell us a little about yourselves: Your dreams, likes and dislikes as well as your strengths and weaknesses.' Gwen instructed.Ethan started off first.'Hi! I'm Ethan Joan! My Dad was one of the best B-ranks in his days but he's retired now and when I grow up I'm going to surpass him, but my bratty elder brother always gets in the way.'He frowned. 'If we're talking about dislikes I guess you can say he's the number one on my list. I'm a Turd and I'm going to be the greatest hero who ever lived.'He grinned. 'As for my strength you can say I'm really extremely strong and I don't wear down easily. However I kinda get angry a lot. Even the smallest thing annoy me.'Andrew rolled his eyes.'My name is Ryan Zintez. I'm classified as a
'I say we start with the punching bags to bring out our inner muscles,' Ethan suggested.'I'm going to the laser point room,' Ryan told them. 'You don't get to say what we all do!' Ethan countered him. Ryan scoffed. 'Like I care what you think!' he bellowed back at Ethan.Ethan blew his top. 'How dare you?!' he said and advanced towards Ryan, whose arms were crossed on his chest. He merely glared at Ethan as one would an erring toddler who was about to get spanked for irrational behavior.Suzanne caught and twisted Ethan's ear. 'Ow ow ow!' he winced in pain.'Shut up for once, Ethan!' She snapped at him. 'You talk too much!'Andrew sighed. 'After careful consideration It's only logical that we head for the Archery Room. There we can train on how to be precise and accurate and we can also start noting down our weaknesses.'Ryan snorted. 'You seem to be for
'Hi! I'm Suzanne O'Izzy. Our squads' CIN instructed me to come here and collect my uniform,' Suzanne said to the lady behind the huge desk. The receptionist looked at her list.'Oh yes. Your name is right here,' she went into a storage room and brought out a baggage containing her uniform.'Thanks,' Suzanne beamed at her as she collected the package.'Have a nice day at Superhero high,' the receptionist waved. 'Sure,' Suzanne replied with a smile. This time the three boys walked ahead while Suzanne truddged on behind them, fondling her package. She suddenly stopped.'Um...guys?' she called.Ryan looked back, a bit irritated. 'What is it?' Andrew halted but didn't look back.'You've wasted enough time exchanging plesantaries with the receptionist, we aren't going to make it to training on time if we
"You've got to be kidding me!' Andrew rolled his eyes.Suzanne chuckled nervously. 'I'll get it right now....' she struggled with fitting the arrow on the bow string bending her arms in different awkward ways.An arrow Suzanne managed to shoot whizzed past Ethan's nose.'Hey! Watch it!' he exclaimed.Ryan had hit his target with five different arrows each splitting the first right down the middle. He smirked and looked around. The situation wipped the smirk from his face.Suzanne's head and an arm were stuck in a bow and Ethan was trying to get her out.Andrew was pinned to a nearby tree by Suzanne's careless aim.Ryan face palmed himself.'What in the world happened?!' he asked. In the ten seconds that he had his back to them, Suzanne had managed to make everything a mumble jumble!&nb
The six boys watched the girls argue endlessly on various subjects, which mostly bothered on Ryan!'How long will this take?' Ethan groaned, covering his ears. Andrew checked his watch. 'I'd say approximately three hours,' he yawned, getting overly bored. 'This is annoying!''I've had it!' Wallis went in between the squabbling girls. 'Cut it out you guys!' he separated them from each other.'Let's help him if we want to cover any training in our squads,' Edward suggested and he and Ethan joined Wallis.Andrew leaned against the wall, unconcerned about the skirmish between the two girls, and began skimming through a booklet. Ryan carried on with his training, unbothered by the girls' squabble.Suzanne pushed Ethan away from her.'Let's go away from here guys,' she said.'Go! You're not needed here!' Annabelle holler
Squad 10 had different expressions on their faces as they got an earful from a very annoyed Aiden.Ryan couldn't stop with the cold scowl while Suzanne looked perpelexed. Ethan was more annoyed at Ryan being able to do something while he laid there getting captured than he was at Aiden for his mouthful scoldings. Andrew was just...well you guessed it, bored!'That was a complete fail!' Aiden repeated.Suzanne bowed her head, a bit ashamed.Aiden paced around while the four stood watching him. 'You didn't even attempt to work as a team! Just like the last time, you all ran off on your own!''So this was about team work?' Ryan asked in his usual tone. A glare sent his way from Aiden was enough to make him look away.'You were too easy to predict!' Aiden stated. He pointed at Suzanne. 'I knew you, who rarely thought things through,
Suzanne whispered to Ethan. 'You do notice that Andrew never really includes himself in the team right?'Ethan shrugged. 'Maybe. But Ryan's the same too.'Suzanne nodded. 'We need to do something about those two to get along right?' Ethan grinned. 'Yeah!'The mathematics teacher put his book down firmly on the table drawing their attention to him.'I'm aware you are all heroes in training,' he started with his eyes firmly fixed on Suzanne and Ethan. 'But for forty-five minutes I believe you are my students and your attention should be devoted fully to me.'Some people groaned.'All right then,' the man was fed up. 'Why don't we do a little hero exercise, huh?' A lot of people sat up to listen. He started distributing some blank sheets to them.'Why don't you try and save yourselves from t
Ryan looked up from the book he was reading. His ride was here.He grabbed his backpack and slid it on a shoulder and walked towards Greg. 'Good day Master Ryan,' Greg managed a small smile. Ryan nodded curtly as he entered the car.'Wait! Ryan! Wait!'Ryan rolled his eyes. That annoying voice was Annabelle. She was always lying in wait for him at every of his classroom doorway. Girls like her just don't know they're an irritation!'Drive!' he instructed Greg. They soon left her in a cloud of dust. His estate was a few miles from Hero League, they got to the mansion soon enough. 'Have my bath running,' Ryan instructed as he walked into his study.'Trust your day went well Master Ryan?' Greg asked.Ryan paused at the stairs. 'The usual,' he replied and continued walking. After he had had h
The alarm clock beeped.A brunette stirred lazily on the bed. She tried to find the snooze button all to no avail. She clenched her hand into a fist and knocked the alarm clock away from her bedside table, sending it up in the air and crashing into her room's wall, making a big dent and destroying the alarm clock along with it.Suzanne turned to her other side to resume her sleep. This was Herotapolis, where the heroes lived. In this city there lived real, breathing heroes. You could tell already by the name of the city right?Hero League was an organization that pooled together normal people and trained them to become heroes. From chasing of bank robbers to extinguishing of fires in burning buildings, to serving as body guards to important people as well as getting stranded animals down from trees, or odd places, the heroes were ever availa
Suzanne yawned as she got off her bed.It had been a week since the E-rank exam. Their E-rank crest had been given to Coach Gwen but she said they had one final minor test to take before they were given their final E-ranks and then they'll meet their M.D corp three days after.Suzanne got her brush and combed her hair.Ryan was discharged the previous day so she knew he would be present today. She smiled at the thought. She had to look her best today. She got out her ribbon and packed her hair in a neat pony tail. She decorated her hair with her accessories.'Wassup, loser,' Shane leaned on her door post.'Hey Shane,' She decided to start ignoring the loser stuff ever since she heard that Shane had followed the guards that were taking Kyle away to give him a big talking to then he had landed a punch...or had attempted to at least.'Andrew's
'The judges have decided that Kyle Quole will be scratched out of the hero-league program due to the behavior he exibited today. But this decision shouldn't affect squad 12 so they shall be assigned a new Slad to join their group. Marissa Cartwell,' the Tifex said.'She has all her complete points and therefore can not be a hinderance to the team,' he concluded on that matter.'Suzanne O'Izzy, the judges have decided you are granted a win due to the situation on ground. Hence your battle with Kyle is crowned with you as the winner,' he stated.Suzanne couldn't stop her wide grin. Man, was she lucky!'And since Ryan Ziantez and Caleb Marsh had been shot, both will be given a pass too, however Andrew Frankstin and Lucas Will who remains standing will have the last battle. Their battle shall hold and the total counting shall rest on their shoulders.'The Tifex announced.
The crowd watched in open mouthed amazement.'Jesus, please help Suzanne,' Aiden prayed silently, his head bowed. It was the only thing he could do.Kevin glanced at him before facing the ring again. 'You sure are a terrible CIN, Aiden,' Kevin chuckled. 'I'm sure when CIN Rodrick was your age, he sure did a better job.'Aiden rolled his eyes.Suzanne yelped as a bullet whizzed past her.'He has a gun!' she shrieked, cowing on the spot. The comentator didn't know what to say. In all his years of moderating in contests, this was the first time someone wasn't fighting back.Shane watched as his twin ran around the ring while her bulky opponent, who was assigned to face her, fired off flames from the second gun he held.'Stay still!' Kyle hissed at her as he pursued her.
The noise of the crowd had quietened down. Now most eyes, if not all, were on the Squads that stood in a straight line assembled below. The Tifex moved about as he addressed the audience and the Slads.'Here are the instructions, listen up because I'm going to say this only once and that's it.' The Tifex said to the squads. He gestured to the field.'Over there, behind those red lines, the different squads facing each other will stand. But note, one person faces off only a person from the other team. And the match between the two will last for just a minute. The person that remains standing after the one minute time laspe will be the winner.'He looked back at the judges and nodded stiffly.'Since there are four members in each team, each team member will face the person he's facing opposite on the other line. If the time is up a
The squads that passed the first round were all assembled on a straight line and were made to face the panel that came from the headquarters. At their right was a battle ground with red lines marked close to the end of both sides, leaving a vast amount of space for dueling in the middle. A Tifex stood in the middle of the mini-field to act as a referee for the contestants. At the four corners of the huge wall, lots of seats were raised on a higher podium so as to prevent the fighters from reaching the onlookers.Defense mechanism shields were also put up in a form of glass around the places the audience would seat.Hence it was assured to be a safe match. The audience could easily watch the match below them without any worry of being injured by the fighters. The judges had a separate seat from everyone else. The CINs' seats were some feet behind the judges
Andrew stopped using his laptop and looked up. It all makes sense now. He thought. He then snorted as he looked past Ryan who gave him a puzzled expression which was ignored. Andrew stood up and headed for the door. He walked ten feet away from it and stopped, a frown of concentration was deeply etched on his face.'What are you doing?' Ryan asked with mild interest. Andrew continued to ignore him.Andrew bent down and felt the ground. 'Just as I thought,' he muttered to himself.'What is it Andrew?' Ryan asked again. He walked up to Andrew's side.Just then Suzanne and Ethan ran up to them, breathless.'Where's the package?' Ryan asked them both, extending a hand towards them swiftly. Ethan shrugged and raked his hand through his hair. 'We don't have it. We didn't see anything.'Ryan's gaze hardened as he appraised Ethan and Suzanne coldly.
'How are we going to find anything in this vast land?' Ryan wondered aloud.Andrew was deep in thought too.'And the others must not find our package! It's an impossible task!' Suzanne wailed.Ethan cupped his hands over both his eyes like a binocular. 'I can't even see the end of this land....,' he whistled. 'Then there's the forest and mountains. Quite an impossible task, I'll say,' he concluded warily.Andrew paced around, deep in thought. An hour is hardly enough for searching. We could search for months and not find it....there's more to it than this. He continued thinking hard.We are allowed to find other Squads' packages...that must mean something. Andrew got out his laptop and started working on it.'We are doomed! Doomed I tell you!' Suzanne stamped her foot on the ground. The ground shook everytime she brought her leg down. 'Doomed
Suzanne shuffled from one feet to the other nervously. Aiden had picked them all up so that no one would turn up late. They all stood at the entrance of the extremely large hall of Super Hero High.Aiden flashed his ID card for the perusal of the guards that were stationed at the backstage entrance for only the contestants. They turned and entered. A small table was at the entrance of the main hall. That room led to various sections and other compartments of the hall but all entrances had a guard beside them. They had to check in with one of the Tifex. Those are the instructions that are in charge of every examination. The main room was beginning to get filled up as more squads trooped in with their CINs.A Tifex headed towards them.'I'm Silverstin. The CIN of squad 10. We've registered since two days ago,' Aiden told him. The r
