Sometimes the smallest turn in the wrong direction ends up being the biggest turn of your life.
If you asked me a month ago where I would be today, this would have been my last possible answer.
The road of life will take you down an unexpected place but in the end it is exactly the place you should be.
Fate is what takes you down that road you ever so often avoid to take. Take for instance landing up down a deserted road at a diner. At the time I had no idea that it was where I was supposed to be with who I am meant to be, doing what I should be doing...falling in love.I wish I could have blamed gravity but the truth was I fell in love. I fell deeper and deeper until I reached the deepest point. In the middle of all my chaos, there she was. You can call it destiny or you can call it fate, the point is you will fall in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time.
So it has come to this, the end, the end of the game, the end of my life. They say that at the end of a game there has to be a winner and a loser. And that every story has to come to an end. Is this my end? Is my game up? Has my life come to an end? But then there is that cliché saying that with every end there is a new beginning. Whichever way you look at it, whether you live or eventually die things will always come to an end.Summer ~”AARON …AARON ARE YOU OKAY? ...BABY WAKE UP…AARON.”&nb
Summer is gone.I am torturing myself with so many what if's. What if she has left me? What if someone took her? What if she has gone back to Sammy? What if she has gone after my mom? What if. What if. What if.
Dear Reader Thank you for reading the first chapter of the book called, Hot Under Cover. Hot Undercover was originally written as an Interactive Story Game. I am in the process of adapting it into a novel form. The original version contains a great deal of dialogue to fit the platform for which it was intended. Though you can enjoy the story in its interactive format too as currently published. (eg when Aaron speaks, the format will be as this: Aaron ~ "Devan, I think we are damn lost.") Full adaptation will be dependent on the popularity of the old Interactive Story. Let me know what you think, of Hot Undercover Happy reading, Tatum Whispers ************************* Something extraordinary is about to happen to me today. Everything in my life has leadup to this moment. I am not a man for small things; love to me is a small thing; I do not embrace it, nor w
Summer has just told us that there is a storm coming in and that we are set to be stuck in it for rather a long time. To say that I am not pissed off at Devan is an understatement."Nice going, Devan. What did you say again? What is the worst that can happen?""Mat, phone Bruce and tell him we are going to be late.""I don't think your phone is gonna work out here.""What does work out here?""Not much; that is why everyone comes and sits in here or the bar."And, of course, this is the first thing that has caught Devan's attention in the past five minutes. "Where is the bar?""Down the road, but you won't make it in time.""Seems like today is Aaron's lucky day." Matson smiles at me with that damn stupid smirk on his face."Fuck off, Matson.""Well, I will check on you in a b
It is two days since my encounter in the diner. I can't stop thinking about her. I keep checking my phone to see if she has called. She is consuming me. I guess I am fucked. Not only does this girl have my head in a spin, but I seem to have become the daily amusement for these two idiots. So as early as this morning is, Devan feels it is good to start."Are you still thinking of Summer?""Yes, and your problem is?""You look like a lovesick puppy.""Your ass is a lovesick puppy.""At least my ass is not in love.""I am not in love.""Oh, you so are.""You don't even know what love looks like.""I am looking at it now. You are so screwed.""I know."Then Devan comes up with the best idea for the day, or so he thinks."Let's take a drive out there again.”"Do you know how to get lost there again?"
After threatening to cut off their toes, the manager promises to get me the name by this time tomorrow. But he goes silent for a week. There are no further calls from Summer either. And just as I am about to give up, Devan comes to me. "The guy phoned with the name.""Let's go.""I have never seen you so damn excited.""Just shut up; you're driving.""You sure you want to do that?" Devan asks"You will get us lost.""Just get me there; I have to see her.""Then what? She comes back with me.""And if she does not want to?""She will."With what seems to be the longest drive of my life, we are finally back at the dinky toy diner. I am out the door even before the car comes to a dead stop."Hi, guys," one of the waitresses greets us as we walk in. "It is nice to see you again.""Likewise. Where is Summer?"
I have my baby with me; she is fast asleep in my arms. She is perfect; I have never known a woman that holds natural beauty from both outside and within. She is also very vulnerable and innocent, though she could have easily been taken advantage of by those two men. She believes that this world is just as pure as where she came from where it can be hard and very ugly here. How do I protect her when I myself am a bad man.I slip my arm out from underneath her and pull the covers back over her shoulders. I slip a pair of shorts on and make my way down to the kitchen. I find Devan and Matson already having their morning coffee."Well, look who decided to wake up," Devan says as he greets me."Have you seen the damn time," Matson asks."Why did you not wake me up."Devan looks at me as a cocky smile appears on his face, "And have my face smashed in, and after all that moaning last night, we thought you'd be tired. For a virgin, she does scream a lot, o

Summer ~”GUYS!!! GET YOUR FUCKING ASSES TO THE FRONTDOOR!!! NOW!!!”We grab our guns off the kitchen counter and head to the front door. In less than thirty-seconds we are standing weapons ready behind Summer.Who ever said that things don't fall out of the sky surely spoke a load of shit, because this surely did. We are completely dumb struck, not one of us can utter a word.
Today my life will change. I am about to give up everything for two woman that will matter the most in my life. The one I will protect with my own life and the other, well I won't rest until I find her. If you ask me tomorrow to choose again, then I will definitely choose the same.Lovers on the run that is what I would like to call us now. I can't care if we are on the run as long as I am on the run with her. We might have been apart for a week but hell I love this woman still. No matter how much I say I love her, I will always love her more than that.
There comes a point in a man's life when he realizes that he is making bad choices, especially when it comes to matters if the heart. Take for instance Caitlin, a beautiful girl, laying completely naked in my arms. Was it a bad choice, she is not a bad girl, rash decision, most definitely it was. Even though I could not keep my hands to myself, I could not get myself to have sex with her. I have been officially been ruined for love.I slide out from underneath her arms and slip on a pair of sweats. I softly close the door as I make my way down to the kitchen. I make myself a cup of coffee and go stand outside in the cold crisp morning, I need to clear my head.
I am finding myself at a place I do not want to be, I am at a crossroads with a broken heart. Do I turn right and put what has happened behind me, turn everyone away and start a new life? Or do I turn left, hope that this will somehow work out and that she will take me back? Or, I can also go forward, learn from my broken heart and embrace who and what is next for me to come? Whichever way I go, which ever choice I make, it will define who I will become once again. We have a group of beautiful women sitting at our table but I cannot help but notice her standing at the bar. Do I get up and to talk to her or do I keep my ass firmly glued onto this chair? That thi
I am woken up by a pounding on my door, almost just as hard as the pounding in my head. Please do remind me why I drank so much again, she is as hot as hell and sleeping in the other room.Aaron ~”Someone better be dying out there.”Devan ~”Just get your ass downstairs and s
