Chapter 99

Schuyler's P. O. V.

For a moment, I thought that finally, Archie is looking at me as his family. And although I haven't done the same, I just thought that somehow… we can have a good bond, but I was wrong. Archie is one of those evils my great-grandfather was pertaining to. He is, and he would always be—just in a different way.

Silence filled the car on our way to our final destination. Attorney Tim was the one driving and I can sense that even he is having a hard time to guess what just happened to us and we're so quiet.

“We're almost there,” Attorney Tim said, trying to break the silence between us, but none responded to him. I heard him sighing before he spoke again. “Archie, what happened to your friends?”

I leaned back in the car and just silently listened to them while sitting beside Archie at the backseat. For a strange reason, I can't understand why Attorney Tim forces us to let us sit together, as if we're kids and need to be protected!
