“Shouldn't you kill me instead?” I gasped in shock with my own question that slipped in my mouth. He furrowed his brow at me before he tilted his head to the side, as if he's analyzing a difficult mystery to solve. “I-I mean… W-Why?”

Damn! I’m really bound to be the reason for my own death!

“You're something…” His eyes glistened with cruelty and I could almost sense him wanting to rip my neck off for having the guts to question his decisions. “You weren't fazed after seeing me bleeding in your car, you managed to hold your fear back. You ran off from me the moment I offered to pay you, not wanting anything in return but only to live your life. And now that once again, I am showing you my kindness to be reasonable, you’re asking me why I am not killing you when that's what I should do. And on top of that, you never asked me how I got shot.” He clenched his jaw and his eyes deepened. “You’re not an ordinary person. Who do you used to work for?”

I could feel my hands
