44: Changing and Renovating

I subtly followed them around the house as Dominic showed Aaron what apparently needed reparing and fixing. To me and Aaron, it was nothing big. It was just tiny cracks on the wall, paint slowly peeling off and a random tiny crack on one of the tiles of the floor. To Dominic, it was a disaster waiting to happen. He claimed that if there was suddenly a natural disaster, the whole house would fall apart. If there was a random thunderstorm, the whole building would collapse just because of those cracks.

And then, he took him upstairs and showed him one of the bedrooms that had always been locked ever since I started working there.

Was he decorating and renovating it for me?

It was a simple bedroom. Just a big bed in the middle of the room and two bedside tables on either side, and a small closet. There were no paintings or curtains in that room, but it was still way better than the room he had made me change in.

“All of this has to go,” Dominic said
