Adhler’s POV

After reading the letter about my father’s disease, I could not help but feel agitated. I was with him the other day, and I had not noticed anything unusual at all. I major in medicine after finishing my other program. There is no way I would not have noticed that he was sick if my mind was not preoccupied.

Damn it. All I had ever lived for was the royal family since when did I cut myself some slack for me to get this sloppy? I drank another glass of wine and then glanced at Daimon — he had been standing by the door since he followed me here.

It must have taken him some time to clean up my mess. It was something I was not able to stop. I needed to break things, or I could have broken his neck instead. I knew he had no choice. He was my father’s subject before he was assigned to serve me.
