Yes, mom", Haya somehow spoke.
"Where are you? You didn't show up this morning either. Didn't you come home last night?", Sofiya barked from another side, which was enough to ice Haya on the spot.
She was so nervous after knowing about her pregnancy that she didn't even show up in front of her parents.
"I did. I had to study in the college library today so...."
"Leave it. I'm going out of town for a few days with your dad. Make sure you take care of the home"
Haya waited for her to say something else, but Sofiya cut the call without even asking her to take care of herself.
However, she sighed in relief, since her parents would be away for a few days and her pregnancy could be hidden.
She marched towards the football court to record her name for the upcoming tournament.
"You're the girl?", a middle-aged man in a tracksuit asked her. He had blonde hair and a long whistle hanging around his neck.
"Yes. I'm Haya", she pulled a smile on her face.
"Hmm. Take this and sign here", the man handed her some documents. "Are you sure you'll be able to control the girls and lead them?"
His words scared her a bit. She knew she could hardly handle those girls. The ex-head cheerleader could give her tough times.
"I'll try", she signed the documents and turned around to walk away.
In the blink of her eyes, something happened. She could see a ball coming towards her in full force. She held her belly tightly right away; her devastated eyes froze on the ball.
Close enough to her belly, it stopped, bumping into a hard chest. She was left numb on the spot as her eyes drifted to Aaron, stopping the ball against his chest.
"Aaron, you're okay, dude?", a guy from the court yelled. "Why did you go out of the court to hit it?"
"I'm good", Aaron raised his thumb and turned to Haya. Their eyes came across each other as she took a couple of steps back.
"Are you okay?", he husked in a thick, raspy voice.
"Yeah"
"You should be more careful right now", he uttered, fixing his grey hairs. Haya's twitching eyes lingered on his face, full of sweat.
Seconds later, her eyes shot up. She couldn't understand what he meant by that statement. Did he know something about her pregnancy? But they didn't know each other well.
"Anyway, did you sign the documents?", grabbing the water bottle from the nearby bench, Aaron asked her.
"Yes", she muttered. She couldn't realize how her eyes pushed up to steal a glance of him, pouring all the water on his head.
Water drops streamed down to his face, glistening over his caramel skin as she drove her remorseful gaze away. She had seen him many times on the campus itself, but that was the first time they were talking and standing close to each other.
Seconds later, she discovered the ex-head cheerleader, Koena, scowling at her from the other side of the court. She gulped her saliva down.
"Well, so....", Aaron strived to say something when he found Haya's gaze iced behind him.
Twisting his head, he saw the same view of Koena and her flocks glaring at her.
"I guess you're obsessed with your bullies", he scoffed abruptly, dragging Haya out of her muse.
"Ha? What?", she clasped the straps of her handbag tightly, looking back at him.
"I'm talking about something important. And you're lost in something else"
"So-sorry. I was listening to"
"You always talk like that?", a smirk appeared on his face when he scanned her reactions well.
"Huh?"
"So-sorry", he repeated, mimicking her. Her face went pale with his sudden insult. She couldn't speak. "Thankfully, cheerleaders have to dance. If they needed to speak, I wonder how you would do that?"
While Aaron was waiting for a hard reaction from her, she was still silent.
"Anyway, if you can focus, can we talk?"
"Talk? To you?", she exclaimed, regretting right away. "I m-mean, you're a player but from the organization. What will we be talking about?"
"Don't take me lightly. I own the whole organization", he chuckled with a sound, walking towards the court.
Haya's eyes popped out, hearing him. She couldn't figure out what to do. Should she leave or follow him?
"Haya", Aaron shouted from the middle of the court, shuddering her from the core. His voice echoed in the whole football court. Her name was buzzing inside, her name could be heard aloud. The echoing sound of her name mesmerized her, standing numb like a statue.
"Y-yes", she tried to say aloud, pushing her throat harder.
"Are you coming?"
It made her glance at Koena for once. Undoubtedly, Haya knew she would be the prey of their jealousy, because Aaron Samuels was never heard calling a girl.
However, her nervousness seemed to be her attitude, which gave shivers down to Aaron's spine.
"She is definitely over naïve or she has some shitty attitude problem", Aaron mumbled to himself.
"I'm not waiting for you the whole day. I have to practice also", he shrugged off.
As he started walking again across the big court, Haya pushed her legs to run towards him and halted half a foot away. She was walking beside her, peeking at him more often so that he could say something. But Aaron was only taking sips of his bottle while walking, and she felt too much ignored again.
Like always!
"You wanted to say something", she reminded him.
"Yes. But you had a lot of things to ponder about. Let me take my time now"
She felt pissed off that time which she had never felt towards anyone while many of them treated her like an unwanted creature.
"I said sorry", she frowned, glaring at him
"Oh? So, you can react too? I thought you can only hear and stammer"
"Are you mocking me?", she scowled at him.
"Obviously, yes. I didn't know it would affect you. You don't mind people mocking you, no?", he said.
Somewhere she knew she was habitual to this.
"Not every time"
"I see. Maybe, I'm exceptional", he cracked up as she gawked at him with no reaction on her face. "Anyway, you have an entire week to prepare the team. The head of the organization isn't here at this moment. You can discuss anything with Sir John. He pointed out the person who had taken Haya's signature earlier.
"And I hope you'll not ruin the team"
"Huh", she startled, halting there.
"You'll be the head. And I can see that you will have a hard time controlling these girls"
"I'll try", she lowered her gaze.
"By getting afraid of them?"
"Huh? I'm not afraid of them"
"I can see that", Aaron grimaced, trying to hold his laugh.
She didn't argue back because she knew she was afraid of people, their comments, their judgments. She preferred to stay in her shell instead of messing with them.
"Now I need to go. See you after college. I'll drop you at your place", he said, hitting the ball against the ground as it reached up to him again. He kept bouncing it.
"Excuse me?", a clamor escaped Haya's mouth with a line of surprise on her forehead. "I don't know you well. What do you mean?"
"But….", he stepped closer and leaned over her, almost near her ear. "I know everything about you. Everything", he whispered, causing cold shivers all over her body.
His lips stretched to the right side, drawing a smirk on his exhausted face. Still holding a gaze at him, Haya stood still on the spot. "Jacob, catch it", Aaron turned around, throwing the ball, and ran towards the court again, leaving her in great confusion. She wondered if he was serious about it. However, she also knew that Aaron Samuel was also famous for being sarcastic and humorous all the time. How could he know everything about her? She was an ordinary girl among the thousands of students who had no identity. In her pack, she was known as Gamma Frederick's daughter. As she drifted to leave the court, she found herself in front of Koena and Riley with their girls. She choked, darting her eyes on them. &n
"Gravity loves you" Aaron spoke, dragging her out of her agonistic thoughts. She was startled from her seat and took the phone. Aaron darted his eyes, filled with concern, and urged to hear something from her. He could see her eyes getting moistened and her lips pressed harder with each other as if she was trying to hold her tears, looking out of the window. "Are we done with the session?", he asked after a pause. "I'm not interested. Please", her voice throbbed while talking as she hanged her head, staring at the blank screen of her phone. "What's your interest? May I know?" "Why are you so much interested in me?", Haya shrugged off. She realized she was being too harsh towards the only person who was giving her a bit of attention. Even when Rubel dumped her, she didn't utter a single mean word for him. "Well, you lost the opportunity to know. I told you if you delay much, I will remain a m
She gawked at him, enlarging her grey eyes as a smirk emerged across his fair hard face. He pulled himself back, standing straight. "Well, let's go", he pulled the hood up. "Were you serious?", she exclaimed. "Is there actually a practice session?" "Well, of course. What did you think? I came here for another purpose? Like saving you?", he rolled his eyes. "N–no", she drove her eyes away. "Was he actually doing something?", his eyebrows drew together as Haya immediately lifted her eyes. "No!!", she clamored. The fear of Rubel was scrambling inside her. She was not exactly afraid of him but everything revolving around him. He was an Alpha to be of one of the strongest packs of USA. It would be her stupidity to speak against him when she wasn't even worthy of fighting back. "Come now. I left my practice for you", Aaron turned around and walked towards his Audi. Haya took tiny steps, following him, reaching there. He
Two long hours passed.Aaron was continuously practicing. His eyes were only darted on the net, eyeballs freezing like dead cells and his ears could only take the sound of dabs until he heard a noise behind him. His focus broke and he turned around. He got stunned at the sight of Haya tripping over, holding her head. She was still standing there while Aaron didn't waste a second and ran across the court."What happened?", he wrapped his palm around her arm. Her eyes almost closed shut and she could hardly stand straight."Are you feeling dizzy?", he asked again as she shook her head. Without delaying much, he bent over, sliding his arm down to her thighs and another arm wrapped around her broad waist. He lifted her in his arms while her head fell heavily against his chest. She was still in sense but mumbling. He carried her to the locker room and made her sit on the bench."Water?", he brought out his water bottle which was dangling a
The vision of the last night flashed before Haya's eyes when she had eye contact with Rubel. Cold shivers ran around her body as she felt a sharp pain in her elbow. It was bleeding. "Oh! Are you okay?", a soft girly voice chimed. Haya didn't realize Harper was standing beside him. Her eyes wandered to her. Harper knelt in front of her and clasped her arm. "Oh no! It's bleeding. Rubel, couldn't you walk carefully or what? Now say sorry", she looked up. "What?", he blurted out. "Say sorry. It won't harm you. Her elbow is bleeding", Harper replied. "No, that's.....", Haya strived to say nervously. "She could've moved instead of bumping into me", he glared at her. Haya's heart was pounding heavily. How could she forget that they were in the same college? The risk was still there. She couldn't escape. A mini crowd gathered them as Riley examined the situation from the platform. "Another drama is going on. I'm getting so piss
"You're out of the team", the harsh words from the deen pricked Haya's ear as she pressed her eyelids tightly. After a long period, something good had happened to her but it went in vain again."I don't know about the supplements", she said for the tenth time but no one tried to listen to her."How can we trust you? We found those pills with you, most importantly, you were practising for 14 long hours. It isn't a joke. Especially for a girl like you", the lady scanned her chubby body from head to toe. Undoubtedly, she was pointing out her figure."Because I had no option", Haya tried her best to clarify. "I was indeed exhausted but–""If you want to prove it, you'll have to go through a urine test", the head of the organizers said."Urine test?", she stammered. The one test that could change the entire dimension of her life. She rem
Haya's heart twisted with the words as she abruptly parted ways with Aaron. Her entire body was shivering. She was just trying to handle herself but then the sudden chaos happened. Her devastated eyes lingered upon Rubel who was at the door, his face was stern and ruddy."What happened?", Aaron frowned, gasping in a calm voice."What the fuck was happening here?", Rubel spat, walking faster towards them."None of your business, Rubel", Aaron groaned. "As far I know, you have nothing to do with any of us. So, it shouldn't bother you"Haya gulped, taking her shivering steps behind as she pinned against the bookshelf. Her body was producing the unreal shiver."I got everything", Rubel's ruddy gaze turned to her as she remembered his words. One mistake, you and your pack, finished. She didn't know what she should do to escape that reality of her life. Aaron was there, he didn't know anything about Rubel, nor about her connection
Haya's POVHis touch felt like a curse to me then. My brain wasn't working anymore after the allegations by Rubel. I could bear everything but not this one. I had never come in contact with any other men when I was with him, nor before him. He was the first. However, I was so wrong about him. I was nothing but the worst creature on that earth. How did I think that a man like him could be trustable who was cheating on his mate with me?I was blind."Now, what's this new drama, Cinderella?", Aaron scowled at me, his brown eyes turned darker in shade."It's Haya", I shrugged off."Cinderella", he hushed, reaching close to my face as I again felt the familiar breath. I didn't mind the closeness until I realized something. Why couldn't I be the only one? To anyone? The thought of him being with plenty of girls made me realize that I was the same for him. I was roaming with him for the last 36 hours. With a guy like
