Alessandra
The car ride to his house was overly quiet with Alessio gone I always knew these two were chatty because I'd catch them talking in discretion more than often and even from afar it didn't look like work. Of course, they made it seem so but I could read into it, deeper than anyone. His home is a fairly far ride from his father's yet a tad closer to mine. I take a quick sweep of the surroundings without alerting him so much. We came with four guards, and the house seems to have about thirteen guarding it, with multiple surveillance cameras. Inside, two people rush to greet him. “Mr Valenti, welcome home.” they both bow to him, already treating him like he's Capo dei capi. “This is Vanessa, our chief maid, Lorenzo is in charge of security here at home,” he tells me. “Hello.” I wave, keeping to Enzo's side. “Come,” Enzo calls. I nod to his workers and follow him through the first floor, he gives me a tour of the rooms. Most rooms we just look at, his workers reside here too because the house is too damn big, with several servant squatters scattered around, those belong to his other workers. The property is certainly larger than that of his parents, and most leaders. His phone buzzes three times while he's showing me around on the second floor which is larger than downstairs. Alas, we come to the end of our tour. “This is my master bedroom,” he tells me, ushering me in. “And where is my room?” I ask, taking a look around the bedroom. It's very large and has a TV area, a mini fridge, and a large bed to complement the expensive art on the walls. “In your husband's room,” he tells me, checking his phone. “Your things are in the closet. Your personal items and everything you might need must be here somewhere...” he trails off, finally looking up from his phone. “Your card is on the vanity, and if you need anything you'll ask Vanessa, Lorenzo or any of the others.” I nod, my eyes wandering the room. “What are the rules?” “Rules?” he frowns. “Yes, the ones you had for Sofia.” I swallow. “I know a few of them but the rest weren't told to me.” “You're not a child, so there are no rules, except maybe one.” “Which is?” He straightens, his eyes searching mine. “Don't disappoint me, Alessandra.” he smirks, stepping closer to me. I gulp, my breath getting caught in my throat when his hand trails my neck, with his head tilted. “I would hate to snap this gorgeous neck if you did.” Fuck. Abort mission, I think to myself but the daughter my mother disapproves of so much is screaming at me to fuck around and see which one of us will fall dead. I must be suicidal because his threat sounds so good to me, I expected no less from him but I'm still intrigued, wet. “And disappointing you, consists of?” His lips pull into a smirk, “You know.” Shit, I do. I need to watch myself a bit more closely now until I know he's not suspecting me of anything. I've already fed Father information about his cargo last night and maybe that's why he's getting so many calls. “You got into this union for something and whatever the reason is, it shouldn't inconvenience me in the slightest,” he warns. I nod, shifting to a more safe topic. “What do you expect of me as your wife?” “You'll have your cliche, one of my sisters is part of and they'll keep you up to date. If anything you just have to sit pretty and make me look good with you standing next to me.” “Okay, I'll go to the kitchen.” “I can have Vanessa bring you your meal, I have an important meeting.” “I'll cook.” I blurt out, forgetting I'm practically useless in the kitchen, the one thing I can use is the knives and that's about it. “No.” he counters, “I servants for a reason. You don't have to lift a finger outside this room.” What the hell kind of nonsense is that, does he want a lazy wife? Well, he's unlucky because aside from killing, Alessandra Romano is good for nothing. Shit, no. Alessandra Valenti now, I keep forgetting the locks to my prison have changed. These are much more durable and won't rust. “Is it not expected that I cook for you as our Ife?” Enzo Snickers, a smug look on his face. “Do you even know how to cook?” “No,” I frown. “But I can learn from Vanessa.” “She will be out of the job if you do that.” he sighs boredly, checking his vibrating phone once again. I think he is bluffing about his chief maid losing her job but I don't care enough to test those boundaries yet. “Noted,” I step away from, pretending to scan the room. “I'll just sit here and be a pretty piece of furniture.” “You get it, excellent.” “Can I meet friends?” I pause, already looking for an opportunity to go up and about on my filling population reduction sprees. Yes, population reduction because it's so much more demure than killing sprees, killing sprees are for men like Enzo Valenti, and Dante Romano... Enzo nods, typing something into his phone. “I have no care about where you go as long as you are accompanied by security, but I doubt you have any friends.” “I do!” I snap, startling Enzo with the way I'm falsely defending my non-existent social life. “Aside from Luna.” Mm, I see how it is, he's done his research and he thinks he's got me all figured out so how about we play a little game called Enzo's temper? I saw his cousin play and it seems sufficiently fun to play it. He eyes me expectantly and I bite the smile that creeps onto my lips as I look at him. “Alessio Valenti.” “You don't smile and say his name like that or you're going to get that idiot killed, Alessandra.” he watches me, not a single hint of jest in his tone. “Alessio's death aside, eat something. I'll see you later.” I nod, watching him leave me in this obscenely large bedroom. I have to figure out how to hack or disable the security system, which should be easy enough once I'm done snooping around. Discreetly, of course, Enzo doesn't have many cameras if not any in the house. I toss myself on the mattress and unlock my phone. Enzo will undoubtedly have a new one for me, tracked by him but I have a way of feeding trackers false information so I'm not worried about that bit. My phone is flooded with messages, which is weird because only Luna texts me, father simply sends two words, a few numbers and that's about it. Father: Alessandra Valenti, has a nice ring to it huh? Father: Good job Sasha, you just might be my favorite. I roll my eyes at that one, I'm his favourite when I kill for him, when I do some deep digging, when I threaten people for him but merely lasts hours before I'm the black sheep again. My Luna: I miss you Sofia Romano: Father and Mother are fighting because of you. I roll my eyes at that one too, replying with a thumbs up emoji. My Luna: Reina kissed a boy! He's hot and older. My Luna: Are you okay? My Luna: I went into your room this morning and you weren't there. It'll take some getting used to. I hope you're okay and safe. Call me when you get a chance. Dante Romano Jr: Your wedding caused a stir Mother dearest: Have lunch with me this week, Mrs Morello wants you to meet her daughter, her husband works closely with Capo. My heart paces up, at the first sentence but the rest set me back in the corner with the dusty collectables where I belong. My finger hastily swipes the messaging app off and I call my one true family, the only one I married for, my Luna. Luna picks up on the first time ring, setting her phone down where I can see her properly. “Sasha!” “Hi, my love, miss me?” “Yes, very much.” she pouts, “I thought he killed you.” “Don't be ridiculous, Luna.” I feign a laugh. “Why is there so much noise?” “Mother needs to find a new target for her tantrums now that you're gone. Nothing big, tell me how you are?” “I'm good.” I sigh, rolling onto my side. “I couldn't sleep last night.” Luna squeals, wiggling her eyebrows at me. “Ouuu, so the wedding night was a success?” “Not.a.chance.” I bite out, confusing Luna because she's undoubtedly heard of the sheet presentation that I was asleep for. I didn't even hear him leave the room if an enemy was out for blood while I slept? They'd spill mine without a fight. “He cut himself. I told him I wasn't fucking him and didn't force me.” “Thank God, so did you see him naked? The girls are curiousss!” she sings. “Weren't you scared of him?”Alessandra There's something in the air tonight, something bitting and cold like the empty space where my heart should be. I went from carving a masterpiece for my collection to rushing to a family dinner. I'm late, but nobody notices me most of the time, I'm practically invisible wherever I am. I'm the darkness that shadows your nightmare while my sister Sofia on the other hand is the opposite. She's summer wrapped in a thousand rainbows which makes sense to me that she gets all the good stuff, i.e. our parent's soft nurturing while I get tossed to the side where no one is looking. But father notices me, he always does and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing yet but the blemishes on my soul tell me different. I swallow the bitter test of memories and daddy issues as I walk downstairs to my father's office, where hushed noises emit. We are having dinner with the Valenti family, our last dinner together before their son marries my sister. Uninterested in the negoti
My eyes cut to my Father, despite the chaos brewing inside me I remain calm and poised. I tap my class with crossed fingers to let him know today's mission was a success. “Sasha?” My mother snorts, “You don't want her. I know they're identical but Sasha is where you draw the line, she isn't fit to be Capo's wife, she-” “Everything will proceed as planned, she looks like the initial bride so nobody will suspect any foul play. You get to keep your facade of a virtuous family and I get my bride.” “Take Luna.” My Father offers, and when I turn to find her, she's gone wide-eyed with fear. “I want your other daughter, and in five days you will hand her to me and pray my anger simmers down enough to not break your bones.” “You can't have Sasha, I'm sorry.” “You don't tell me what I can't have Don Romano, much less after you screwed me over. I'll hang your daughter's head on my door as payment for disloyalty on your end.” And with that, he exits, with his family following behind

It's two days since Enzo Valenti was in our home and Father let the first day go by hoping his anger would subside but I doubt it, Enzo Valenti looks like he is always pissed. Alessandra I stare at myself in the mirror, ignoring all the crying Luna has activated since seeing me in my wedding dress. Mother didn't help me at all, she didn't even fake interest when the makeup artist asked her if she wanted to stay. Reina stayed, but she's just somewhere around the house. My brothers and their wives will meet us at the ceremony, father is somewhere cussing out my grandfather because he couldn't attend the wedding when Sofia was the bride but the moment I'm swapped with Sofia, he's free and demanding to walk me down the aisle. If anything, I prefer my grandfather because he loves me in every way his daughter can't. I have a special bond with him, he named me when my parents introduced him to Sofia and my mother couldn't care less what I was called. I'm named after his late wife, my mother has hated the idea because I don't deserve the name and I'm only half Russian. “Who do you think will win the fight?” “Fight?" I frown, happy she's no longer sobbing
Enzo I'm a married Man, Alessandra Romano stood in front of the alter beside me and vowed to be my wife. My least favorite part is that she vowed til death do us part, it's cute that she thinks she can escape me by dying. If I'm the one to go first, I will haunt her until she joins me but if she goes first I will follow right behind her because nothing can save her now. There was a time this morning when I assumed she wasn't coming, she was over twenty minutes late for our ceremony, and I was ready to shoot down the entire Romano lineage then tie Alessandra up and force her to marry me. There's no two ways about it, I wanted Alessandra and now I've got her, she's all mine and she's never escaping me. Most of our guests are shocked to see Don Romano has twin daughters or that they've never met Alessandra. Alessandra The wedding ceremony ended quickly, as soon as Dedushka left, Enzo let his family know he was ready to leave. We are spending our first night together at his parent's house, as per tradition, stupid tradition if I might add, they expect to find our wedding sheet spread on our door, decorated with my virginal blood staining it. I'm not sleeping with Enzo, that's one thing I've convinced myself of all the while when I was being dolled up a second time just so I look pretty for him when he fucks me. But, that seems like ages ago, now Enzo stands at a safe distance, speaking to someone about a shipment. I listen attentively but I hear nothing over the sound of my heart pounding. The smell of roses is suffocating me, I never did like flowers, they remind me of funerals and phoney congratulations. I watch as Enzo begins to loosen his tie, his jacket is next, he tosses it away and instantly I feel myself shaking. I've been waiting a long time to find something that can trigg
We both stare, for what feels like eternity until Enzo breaks the silence. “Nobody would believe I touched you if you left the room looking so...” he trails off. “Pure, and unmarked atleast not my cousin.” Oh. “Okay.” I nod, mentally kicking myself for getting wet over a strategy. Still, it reminds me to stay clear of his touch, I can't afford to lose myself again over something that stupid. “You take the bed, I'll sleep over there.” Good, fine by me. I was definitely not looking forward to sleeping next to him or with him so this is perfect. I have trouble sleeping at night but as soon as I get into the bed, I close my eyes and play dead—I mean sleep. Enzo works on his phone the entire time, and I keep stealing glances at him. I've never seen seem his shirtless, but my sister would fawn over how great he looked in a swimsuit when she was still obsessed with him. I've only ever seen Enzo in suits, it's all he wears and now he's shirtless in the same room as me? Ugh, how will I
She shrugs, “My mistake.” I nod, I've got more time to play cat and mouse with her in our home, she can rest for now.“You can pick out anything from the wardrobe, I bought a few clothes from my sister's collection.” I tell her, gesturing to the closet. Alessandra watches me silently, her gaze finding the closet but it quickly snaps back in my direction, an unspoken query in them. My wife continues to wound me with her assumptions, it'd be a shame if she let them rule her opinions of me. “They not for Sofia never were.” I clarify. Her response is quick, a lie. “I wouldn't mind.” “I would.” I counter, knowing she too minds. I saw the way her nose scrunched up in disgust before she reset her face to factory settings. I'd never make her wear anything that was made for my convenient fiancé, hell I never personally picked her a damn thing but for Alessandra, I went to my sister's boutique and hand-picked most of her items. Gianna never liked Sofia, so having her wear her unreleas

“You believed me, that your funeral.” he snorts, reclining in the seat. Alessandra laughs, it's low and muffled but I can tell you right now it's top five of my favourite sounds. She stops herself before I can memorize her laugh and the idiot in our car jots up, I can't see him but I know he's smiling big. “Oh, my God. Did I just make our wife laugh?” “She's not your wife," I grumble, my hand gripping the steering wheel tighter. “Get back in your damn seat before I throw you out the window and one of the guards can pick you up.” “Why can't I speak freely, cousin?” he feigns emotion, lowering his voice but we both know he feels nothing. He merely mimics the emotions of those around him, which is why he's my best friend and right hand. “You hear that, Alessandra. Your husband treats me so badly, please adopt me as your cousin from now on.” “A-Adopt you?” Alessandra stutters, finally veering to the backseat. “I thought you came as my unspoken plus one when I got married to Enzo
