Stepping out, I entered the hallway.

Where was the room I was looking for?

I stopped when I finally found it. Before I could enter my instincts drew me back.

What was that? It felt like I was being watched somehow. Turning back there was nobody in sight in the hallway. I sighed as I turned back to the door.

Exhaustion filled my bones from the constant thought of Ambrose, and I knew I couldn't stay in the pack house for long. I was almost done with my duties anyways. The new assistant could deal with the rest. Whilst I could go back home, where Harriet and Ariezel would be waiting for me.

Carrying the supplies down to the storeroom, I stretched lightly.

Finally, I could-

My ears perked up at the sound. It couldn't be.

I snapped backwards immediately, eyes wide open to see what had happened.

Running to the door, I tried opening it only to find that I couldn't.

It took everything in me to not use my full strength, but either way I had a feeling that it wouldn't budge anyways.
