Seraphina’s Distress

As we made our way into the busy exhibition hall, my eyes widened in surprise at the unexpected sight of Alexander at the entrance. "OMG!" I gasped softly, my hand instinctively tightening around Damien's arm.

My initial joy was short-lived when I spotted him at the entrance. I just wanted to go home immediately!

Damien turned to me, a quizzical look in his eyes. "What's wrong?" he asked, concern lacing his voice.

I forced a smile, trying to mask my unease. "Nothing, I almost tripped," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

But inside, turmoil raged, and I prayed that Damien wouldn't sense the tension radiating from me.

When Alex and I locked eyes, a strong wave of nerves and disgust washed over me. Memories of our tumultuous relationship flooded my mind, filling me with unease.
