Clutching the blanket around myself I followed Lowell into the house. His new hide-out spot.

"I need clothes."

"Later. Sit."

I sat on the old brown sofa, "Who's house is this?"

"Don't worry about that," his phone rang, and he pulled it from his pocket, "Be quiet. It's Candace."

I raised a brow and mimed zipping my lips closed.

"Hi, baby."

I scoffed and he shot me a look before walking away, he stayed nearby but after a moment he turned his back to me.

My eyes landed on the lamp beside me.

I reached over for it, but the cable wasn't coming out of the wall plug.

I glanced over at Lowell, his back was still turned to me. I got to my feet and walked over to unplug it. I hurried back to my seat just as he turned to me.

He turned away again and I picked up the lamp. I waited for a moment before getting to my feet and sneaking up behind him. He turned and I slammed the lamp into his face.

He grunted and went down, his phone dropped to the floor.
