Chapter 86: Feels Like It's Been A Year.

Laura heard her doorbell ring when she was braiding her hair after her bath. She quickly tied up the unfinished end as she checked for the time. She frowned slightly when she saw it was 9:30 and went downstairs to check who it was.

She picked up the baseball bat she had asked Dylan to get her and pressed on the intercom at the front door, only to see James’s face reflected back to her. She tossed the bat aside and opened the door for him.

James only saw the door open before a body pressed against his in a hug. He was suddenly surrounded by the scent of vanilla and unconsciously took a deep breath as he held her in his arms and stepped into the house while carrying her, using his foot to close the door behind him.

“It feels like it’s been a year,” Laura said as she burrowed herself deeper into his embrace.
