20. Ending Things for Real

Cassie wakes up with a heavy headache.

She sighs as pushing the covers to the side and gets up. This is the first time she is reluctant to leave her bed since she got her job.

Without an intent to look good, she wears her jeans and a casual t-shirt. There is no one she needs to seem alluring anymore.

When she is going downstairs, Daisy is heading to the upper floor. Her sister frowns at her but Cassie doesn’t have the energy for this. Daisy bumps into her shoulder with sassiness but she doesn’t even look at her back.

Her father invites her breakfast but she tells him that she needs to hurry, then leaves the home quickly.

She looks at the balcony of Mathias‘s house. Avra is having breakfast with poor little Helena but Mathias isn’t there.

Of course he isn't.

Cassie sourly smiles. He already started to avoid her. So be it.

In the end, she knew this was just a game for both of them. She will not go to his home anymore or she won’t try to seduce him with slutty dresses.

Sighing with
