23. It’s Almost Time

Mathias sighs restlessly after he stands by the window. 

After spending the afternoon in his home office, he starts to watch the streets. He pensively twirls the whiskey in his glass. 

He checks his watch before sipping the beverage, never taking his eyes off the road. It’s almost time.

People are walking down the tree lined alley, the yellow school bus drops off the kids, cars are parking in the garages of the houses. It’s another weekday evening in Long Island and Mathias waits patiently.
