Before Seraphine could enter her room, she felt a grip on her shirt. This made her turn back to face Ashley. Her actions caused Seraphine to raise one of her eyebrows.
"Were you searching for this in the attic?" she questioned.
Seraphine's eyes then fell on the letter at Ashley's hand. She forwarded it towards Seraphine. This made Seraphine wonder what this was on.
Noticing Seraphine's questioning gaze, Ashley explained, "The other day when I was cleaning up my father and mother's room, I found this. This must be important, so I kept it with me."
The envelope didn't seem out of ordinary, but the fact that there was an envelope there in her parent's room was suspicious enough.
"Did you check the contents inside?" Seraphine questioned.
Ashley shook her head. "It looked important, so I didn't open it."
Seraphine nodded and expr
Once done with settling everything, Seraphine bid good-byes to her sister before heading for the barracks. The entire way, the corner of her lips were lifted, displaying her enthusiastic mood well.As she arrived, she didn't know how to judge her luck as she came upon Arnold Crisberd. Regardless of her emotions, she could only politely greet him."Not bad, Young Lad," he commented, "It seems that the vacation invigorated your spirits.""Indeed, it has. I am grateful to Sir Arnold for it," Seraphine flattered the man."Seeing this, I have decided your next task would be in your hometown, and as working alone could be tough on you, I have decided to assign you with a partner."This caused Seraphine to be intrigued. Although she had completely a difficult task previously, no matter of teaming up was mentioned. She wondered how hard it was for Arnold Crisberd to suggest this.
Seraphine would be a fool if she were to buy that. If the mission truly caught his appeal, he could've have easily gotten it and done it with his teammates. Why would be want to sour things with others by getting along with Seraphine?Maybe Seraphine was being too skeptical, but she didn't believe this man would be here without any motive.Hamilton noticed the creases that formed between Blair's forehead and burst out into hearty laughter prior to voicing out, "You needn't worry. I have no malicious intent. It seems that you have no confidence in your skills. It's truly that I want to go along with you and learn a thing or two."Seraphine still didn't trust the man while she questioned, "Is that so?""Hmm," Hamilton answered, "It's only right for you to be suspicious. I would do anything within my limit to dispel that."Yoori thought for a while and then voiced out, "Let me be th
Seraphine vaguely recalled the conversation she heard previously on some general or such a figure holding a parade after winning a war. The parade would be passing through the town.During this time, wars were quite common, especially at the border, so Seraphine didn't pay special attention to this. Because of how busy she had been, this matter simply slipped out of her mind. But now that she had decided to take a break from her job along with Hamilton, she decided to check out this procession as she was curious about it.There were many enthusiastic people that gathered around. Not often did such high figure passed through the town, so it was understandable that a considerable amount of attention was attracted.Seraphine booked a private room at the restaurant with a balcony in order to get a proper view. While she nibbled on the seeds, she stared at the excited people downstairs.
Behind the door, a man stood. His clothing and conduct showed off his high position. Although a seemingly calm expression was there on his face, standing beside him made one feel a great deal of pressure.Behind him stood a Knight who had his head slightly lowered, and the conversation that happened inside the room reached into both of their ears. This caused the Knight to feel flustered and stare at the eminent man in front of them who intently listened in on the conversation."I am sorry, Sir. I haven't expected for them to be this audacious. I will punish—"Before he was able to continue further, the man raised his hand, and he immediately shut his mouth. As the man indicated him, the Knight moved forward to open the door.As the door opened, Seraphine and Hamilton was caught off guard. They thought someone would be there to announce the arrival of the high-ranking
"My heart was at my throat, but Sir Noah turned out to be a hospitable man," Hamilton expressed.Seraphine nodded.Although there was a tension set up in the room at beginning, it seized to exist as time passed by. However, Seraphine knew this was Noah's way of getting people to warm up to him and spill everything.Seraphine thought of leaving some clues of her true identity in order to test the man, but weighing the consequences, she decided to forget about it.It wouldn't always end up with positive result. She shouldn't be greedy.Seraphine was good with adjusting to situations. Although she had a deep longing, she knew how to be rational and ignore the entanglements in her heart. Currently, she wasn't at the state to take huge steps. Moreover, what she couldn't forget was how her life was in danger as Seraphine to the point she needed to be
"Look who we have here," the leader voiced out, "someone who grew courage by licking the ass of an Noble Lady. Just how does prostituting feels like."Another one stepped forward and stated, "Our leader would have been generous enough to spare you if you had done the laundry for us. But you have the audacity to throw them and get us blamed."Seraphine was dumbfounded by their stupidity. What happened with their laundry and the consequences received by them wasn't something she was well aware of. This was because she wasn't interested in digging further. However, the fact that they have come to trouble her after so long meant that they would have been deeply occupied by whatever they had to deal with.Seraphine couldn't care less about these insignificant characters. They were the last thing on her mind, but it seemed that she was a priority in theirs.Even wh
One thing she knew for sure was that a great deal of luck was needed when faced with this stern faced, intimidating lieutenant. As Seraphine stood behind the table, she maintained a polite posture while her eyes stared at the seated lieutenant, who was most likely trying to read Seraphine.Mentally, Seraphine desperately prayed for this to be over as soon as possible."I have heard praises made by Arnold on how you're a promising lad," August Sier commented."Sir Arnold had over praised me." Seraphine maintained a humble attitude."You don't need to say that. If you weren't aware of how skilled you were, you wouldn't have proposed to work solo in the first place."Seraphine didn't make reply to that, and it didn't surprise her that August Sier knew this matter."You truly don't disappoint and are leading by a lot when compar
After Seraphine's series of scoldings and lectures along with threats, Katherine promised to be obedient and never attempt to do anything as foolish as to follow after Seraphine.Seraphine was pleased by the turn of actions following that.Katherine looked out for her free time prior to inviting her over and didn't excessively boost about Seraphine's visuals. Well, at least she attempted to do that although she failed in that aspect many times. That did little to bother Seraphine though."Have you heard of the ball the Crown Prince is holding?" Katherine questioned.Raising one of her eyebrows, Seraphine voiced out, "The one on searching for his wife?""Hmm," Katherine responded, "Well, I have been invited to it. Without any good reasons, it would be considered offensive to not attend.""Oh," Seraphine replied.
