Chapter Three

"I am not an assassin" said Athen, Athen was in a distress now, he didn't knew what this man had to do with Balak and now that he was behind Athen with a sword pointed at Athen's neck. Athen quickly jumped inside the house and got himself out of sword's reach, he turned back and looked at the man. Athen saw the man had his left eye covered, the man was huge compared to him, there was a big scar on his arm which extended from shoulder to almost his wrists, Athen when looked into the eye of the man noticed they was blank as if the man isn't worried about Athen's presence.

"You are just a kid" said the man who slowly inserted sword into it's scabbard, the man slowly came towards Athen "My name is Hugo" said the man, Athen was relieved the man didn't meant any harm to him, "Who are you and what you are searching for kid?" asked Hugo.

"My name is Athen and I am from village Hisag" Athen answered "I am looking for way to Shogo", hearing this Hugo thought to himself what a kid from Hisag want to do with Shogo. "What is the purpose of your visit to Shogo" asked Hugo.

"My purpose is to kill the King" said Athen, with the tone of the boy Hugo knew this wasn't a joke, "Are you out of your damn mind" said Hugo in anger "A kid like you gonna kill Balak". 

"He killed my family and everyone in the village" said Athen quietly, Hugo didn't knew what Athen was talking about. "You need rest" said Hugo "Let's talk while eating something". Athen then told Hugo all about what happened in village, Athen told Hugo that his purpose is to end this evil. Hugo who was listening to Athen from much time now said slowly

"You can't kill Balak with your current form", Athen then asked Hugo "Do you know who Balak is?",Hugo started to laugh loudly saying "Do I know Balak".

"I was a General of Shogo's army" said Hugo "I don't just know Balak I have worked for him", Athen was stunned hearing this, Athen didn't knew how to act, he just stayed quiet and listened to Hugo.

Hugo who was now a welder once was the General of Shogo's army, Hugo was a true warrior, he had fought many battles and was victorious in them thus had battle scars all over his body, he was considered the most powerful general Shogo ever had, he worked for Balak and the former king. Everything changed when Balak came to throne, it wasn't much later that Hugo realized that Balak was a maniac, Hugo saw what Balak did with the villages and with his own people and decided to leave his army, but Balak didn't agreed with this, Balak asked Hugo to serve him as he did to his father, Balak offered him wealth, women and everything he wanted but Hugo declined everything he just wanted to quit from his job, knowing that Hugo won't change his decision Balak hurted Hugo, Balak raped his wife in front of Hugo and then killed her in front of him, Hugo although managed to get away from Balak lost his wife, since then Hugo decided to stay out of army and work as an welder.

Athen heard everything, he didn't had any words to say, "Balak is a real monster kid, it's better you just go back and start a new life, forget about all that happened to you" said Hugo, Athen now had something to say, he stood up and looked Hugo right in his eyes and said "Forget it? How can I forget about this, Balak killed my family" Athen didn't stopped at this he went on saying "I will make sure I get my vengeance, I am not a coward like you who will forget about his family and start a new life". 

Athen knew he shouldn't have said it, Hugo stood up as well, he looked closely at Athen's face, "You really want to get your vengeance?" asked Hugo. Athen nodded yes, Hugo was moved by Athen words and determination, Hugo thought for sometime then shouted "I will train you", Hugo told Athen that he can't survive this battle on his own he needed to train and become a real warrior first only then he will be able to fight Balak.

"But why are you helping me" asked Athen confused, "I just want this monstrousity to end, I don't want anyone else to suffer what we did" said Hugo, Athen was cheerful, now he wasn't alone on his journey, he now had a medium that will help him attain his purpose.

"Before your training, I should tell you everything about Balak and Shogo" said Hugo, Hugo then went on telling Athen how the former king had six sons and the kingdom got divided and was assigned to each brother. Balak was the youngest brother of all the six.

"You can't win this battle alone, we need companions" exclaimed Hugo, Hugo explained Athen everything about the kingdom, as Hugo was General he knew everything about the kingdom Shogo but Hugo didn't had any clue about the other brothers, Hugo told Athen about rumours how each brothers are monsters.

Athen now knew most of things about Shogo, he realized he had to train hard to defeat Balak, "Your training will start from tomorrow"  Hugo said, Athen was ready to give his everything for his vengeance.

From next day the training started, Hugo didn't went easy on Athen for his first day, Hugo was a warrior he knew how to use his weapons, "You have stamina but you are not fast" said Hugo "You need to be the faster one to win battles", it wasn't the noon yet and Athen was already tired, Hugo decided to not continue for the first day, "You need a new sword of your own" said Hugo "Something which is perfect for you", Hugo decided to make a new sword for Athen and started working on it.

Seeing Hugo working hard for Athen's sake sparked the fire inside him, Athen started training again he was performing his moves again and again, Hugo couldn't believe that Athen was still on his feet, Hugo was happy to believe in Athen and train him. 

Athen used to wake up before Hugo and start his training, Athen was determined, focused and had a goal to achieve, he was ready to give his all for that, days went on with Athen training everyday, his growth was noticeable in just little amount of time, Hugo also had made a sword for Athen, the sword suited Athen perfect, it was not heavy and was sharp enough to even cut the stones.

Athen quickly got the hang of the sword, Hugo trained Athen with not only just sword but also taught him to use every weapon he had, Athen day by day was growing into a warrior, he now was way quicker and agile. 

Athen's training was of whole six months long and a complete transition was scene in Athen, Athen was now much stronger, faster, Hugo's training paid off well. "You must fight with me now" said Hugo looking at Athen, after all it was six months Hugo knew now Athen was capable of defeating even Hugo, the very next morning both of them decided to battle. The battle lasted only a minute, it was a one way match.
