Peace Maker

It didn’t take long after Anna left the room before the door slid open again. Caspian groaned ready to lash out at Anna for the second time but he relaxed when he saw that it wasn’t Anna but his mother. He looked away. If it were up to him, he would have prohibited anyone from walking through those doors.

He wasn’t a fan of people seeing him in such a miserable state.

“Dear,” Mrs Riordan swooped to his side, placing the box of food that she brought with her. “Oh my, dear. Are you alright?”

She sat on the space beside his bed and placed her hand on his forehead, on the same spot where Anna had touched previously. Caspian nodded.

“What are you doing here, Mother?”

“What? Why can’t I be here? My son is hurt. I was so scared when I heard what happened. Are you sure you’re fine?”

“I’m fine, Mother. There’s no need to be worried about such a trivial issue.”
