NIGHT

"What did you find?" Chae Joon asked, anxious and eager to know.

"Before that, tell me, about the ghost world" Hae Jin said as he looked away from Chae Joon's burning gaze.

No, this wasn't it! He wanted to know what Tae Jin found out.

What did he remember? Who did he remember?!

He had to know this.

Also.........it looks like he's safe. Tae Jin doesn't remember him yet.

"I don't want to talk about it right now. Also, you look familiar. I feel.....It feels like I know you" Hae Jin said, startling Chae Joon but then, he quickly pulled himself together before Hae Jin could notice.

"I don't think so. This is my first time meeting you" Chae Joon lied and Hae Jin, not noticing this, nodded.

"Right" he said.

"By the way, where did you go?" Se Jong asked. Hae Jin didn't say anything earlier but now........looks like he was in the mood to talk.

"The question should be, where was I taken and who took me"

"What?" Chae Joon asked, eyes widened in shock.

Someone took him? Who? And where was he taken?

"I don't want to talk about it right now. Can we talk about something?"

Well, he (Hae Jin) didn't want to talk about all the important things, the stuffs they wanted to know so bad. Se Jong thought.

"Sure" Chae Joon replied. Afterwards, he decided to ask one burning question,

"Hae Jin, have you seen Sung Yoon fading before?"

Sung Yoon fading?

Right! There was that one time.........

"Yeah, I remember,..........if am right, it was two years ago, when Sung Yoon found out about her parents death, she was devastated. We were in the living room, I, Tae Jin and Sung Yoon, she was so angry, so sad and she was talking with these emotions, suddenly, she began to fade. I mean, we could see through her. We didn't know what happened and we didn't talk about it either. In fact, if you didn't ask about it now, I would have forgotten about it"

So, it happened before and......

"Sung Yoon doesn't know about this right?"

"No, we didn't tell her"

Right, cause Sung Yoon didn't mention it when they talked about it.

"So then, it started two years ago?"

"I don't really remember much. I....... I've lost some of my memories. After that evil ghost consumed half of my soul,.......I couldn't remember much, I mean, I don't remember much"

True.

But then........

"I didn't know that's one of the effects of getting half of your soul sucked" Chae Joon said.

Yes, and Kim Soo did say he'll remember everything after his soul is restore.

True, he can't get half of his soul, his energy that was taken from him. He can't get it back, but then,.........that space can be filled.

And this can happen only when he became a hunter of evil ghosts.

That space will be filled.........he didn't get that part but he guess Kim Soo meant, he'll get a new soul, new energy and the space which his half soul occupied before will be filled.

Well............if he's right. Also, what he just said didn't make sense to him.

*Sigh,

He'll have to ask Chae Joon about hunters of evil ghosts later.

Also,.........he now knew, Sung Yoon was wrong when she saw an evil ghost corrupts your soul when they get hold of you.

Her guess was wrong.

They don't corrupt your soul and turn you into an evil ghost, just so you'll join them.

No, they feast on your soul which is energy to gain more powers.

He wonder, if Sung Yoon remember telling him about this.

"What's going on with Sung Yoon?" He asked and Chae Joon replied, "Hear it from her"

What a disappointment! He (Hae Jin) really wanted to know now.

"Tell me about your episodes. Sung Yoon said you've had three episodes" Chae Joon said.

"Not really, she doesn't know about the other three episodes. She wasn't around, but,........ yeah, she was around when I had the four episode"

"Tae Jin didn't tell us about your episodes" Se Jong said.

It even took a lot out of them to convince Tae Jin to tell them how Hae Jin was able to leave the house.

Sung Yoon was the one who asked.

And he said, it was because he was his special.

Ghosts who doesn't remember their past life or how died and are trapped in a house or somewhere, only their special one can help them, Tae Jin told them.

"He didn't even want to talk about you" the words slipped out and Se Jong regret it right away.

He looked at Hae Jin and saw a sad expression on his face.

"I see"

"I'm sorry" he apologized.

"No, is okay" Hae Jin said but Se Jong could see it wasn't okay. He (Hae Jin) was wearing that sad on his face again.

"So, what's the first episode?" Chae Joon asked to draw Hae Jin's attention from that sadness he was feeling.

"The day I met Sung Yoon and Tae Jin, I had the first episode. Actually, if I remember correctly, I met Sung Yoon first, we talked, sometime later, I had the episode and after the episode, I met Tae Jin"

Okay, that meant Tae Jin was around when he had his first episode.

Tae Jin being his special one was near and to gain Hae Jin's attention to this, he had his first episode.

But, that wasn't how it was supposed to go.

For ghosts like Hae Jin who are stuck in this world because of the first reason, they have to meet their special ones face to face, and then the souls and the contracts will send the hints.

And then, they finally find out this human, is then special one.

But from what Hae Jin just said..........hold on, he should asked first.

"You met face to face with Tae Jin and then you had your first episode right?" Chae Joon asked and Hae Jin answered, "No, after the episode, few seconds or minutes later, then I met Tae Jin. Well, if am right about this"

Then,.......that meant Tae Jin was around the house, he was near and he (Hae Jin) had his first episode.

Author: Chae Joon is right. Hae Jin had his first episode because his special one, Tae Jin, came around, was in the compound, Tae Jin was near him. Tae Jin, is the human I talked about in the ending of the chapter.

But.......he has never heard of this.

Hae Jin, he didn't exactly go through the same process one does when they meet their special one.

He (Chae Joon) was different. His meeting with Se Jong, his special one was different because he was stuck in this world because of the second reason (Soul stuck in this world after their death because they had an unfinished business to settle)

But Hae Jin, his wasn't the same. Like he said before, ghosts like Hae Jin, stuck in this world because of the first reason (Souls who have no memories of their past life or how they died) go through the process.

They meet their special one, the contract and souls sends the hints and they experience their first episode.

But Hae Jin didn't. He didn't meet Tae Jin face to face yet he experienced his first episode.

Why?

"Before I met Sung Yoon and Tae Jin, I never experienced an episode"

Of course. Ghosts like Hae Jin (Stuck in this world because they have no memories of their past life or how they died) only experience the episode because their special one, who can help them figure out their past life and how they died are in their life.

The first episode isn't about the special one and it doesn't say anything about the special one being your special one.

Is about you, the chosen ghost.

You the chosen ghost, remember a piece of your past life.

Only special ones can help ghosts like Hae Jin.

Only their special one, can help them remember their past life.

And if they haven't met them, they'll never experience an episode or remember their past life.

This is why Hae Jin never had an episode or remembered a pieces of his past life until he met Tae Jin, his special one.

"The second time was when I slept in the master bedroom with Sung Yoon"

Just Sung Yoon?

"Tae Jin wasn't around?" He asked and Hae Jin answered, "No"

Then......... what happened?

Ghosts like Hae Jin also experience the first episode, just so they'll know they've found help. They've found their special one.

Afterwards, they'll not experience another episode until they see something or someone familiar from their past life which will then trigger their memories.

But then........Hae Jin had another episode in this house...........Hold on,.......he got it now!

Chae Joon thought.

"The third one was on Tae Jin's fifth birthday"

"He wasn't around?" Chae Joon asked and Hae Jin watched him, confused.

Why was he always asking about Tae Jin?

Hae Jin asked himself and though confused, he still answered.

"Tae Jin was not around" 

Yes, he (Chae Joon) knew the reason for this one as well..........he knew but then, should he share? Should he tell Hae Jin that, Tae Jin was his special one?

"The fourth time was when I met Tae Jin after 12years, on his 17th birthday"

Well, that happened because the process repeated itself.

"I saw him and..... started feeling sick. Seconds later, I fainted and experienced another episode"

Because they (Hae Jin and Tae Jin) had been away from each other for so long, when they met again, the process repeated itself. Maybe it thought it was the first time they were meeting or something.

He didn't know but he knew the process repeated itself and that's why Hae Jin had an episode.

But then, this time, Hae Jin saw Tae Jin, they met, face to face and then he had his episode.

Well, he didn't know what to say something this.

"The fifth time was when I slept in the master bedroom alone and I had this nightmare. I know I experienced an episode, it was a memory of my past life but then........it felt more like a horrible nightmare"

He (Chae Joon) knew why Hae Jin had this episode.

"I........I didn't see....... but a woman, she hated me so much and she said it......I could feel her hatred *Sigh, it was just too much for me. If I remember correctly, I didn't see those two, just that woman who seems to hate me a lot"

That woman.........she......... Chae Joon, couldn't bring himself to think of another word.

"I remember, I was in the house as well. You screamed so loud and Tae Jin rushed off to see you. He didn't tell the truth but I knew something was wrong. Something happened to you, however, I didn't know what happened until now"

Right, Se Jong knew about him all along, Hae Jin thought.

"What about the last time, the sixth episode" Chae Joon asked.

"The sixth episode it wasn't exactly an episode but I remembered something. I was having pizza with Tae Jin and then I remembered something. The pizza smelled and tasted familiar. In my memory, I was having pizza and someone was beside me and though I couldn't see their face, I knew who it was. I said something about the pizza place nearby. I believe I said the pizza was bought at the pizza place nearby. Tae Jin later found out that there really was a pizza place nearby. We were going to check it out, but got the chance to"

"Hold on, does it mean you used to live around here?" Se Jong asked in shock.

"Maybe" Hae Jin answered. And truth be told..........and before Hae Jin could complete his thoughts, Chae Joon asked,

"Do you want to check it out?" Gaining his (Hae Jin) attention.

"Truth be told, I'm afraid. The people I saw in my episodes.......I remembered something about them. And the hatred, anger, that feeling of betrayal, it was so intensive. I don't want to go there again. Right now......."

He wanted to focus more on Tae Jin.

Him alone.

"You had another episode about them?" Se Jong asked.

"Yes, when I was taken away, I recalled something about them. I don't remember much and I don't really want to talk about it. All I can say is,..........I had these feelings,......... hatred, anger,...........betrayal...........it was just way too much. It was and I still feel it"

Like right now, he was feeling it.

"Which people are you talking about?" Se Jong asked.

"I saw this......man and woman but I've never seen their faces or body. There's.... there's always this bright light. Their form is always this bright light. I haven't seen them yet but I feel how familiar they are. I don't know but I feel, I know them" Hae Jin answered.

"The memories you had after you went missing, did you see that woman who seems to hate you a lot?" Chae Joon asked.

"No, I only saw those two and.......and a baby" And about that woman as well.

No, this woman he mentioned wasn't the same one he saw in his memory, the one who seemed to hate him a lot.

It was someone else. But he didn't want to talk about her now so he won't mention her to them.

Hae Jin knew, if he did, Se Jong and Chae Joon will definitely ask questions.

He didn't want to answer any of them now.

"I couldn't see the baby's face or body either but......I could feel it was a boy"

"A boy?" Se Jong asked.

"You guys believe me right? I mean there's no solid evidence to prove that, what I've been seeing and feeling every time I have an episode is real or my past life but.........you believe me right?" Hae Jin asked as he looked at Chae Joon and Se Jong, waiting for their answer.

Se Jong looked unsure but Chae Joon, he answered, "I believe"

A grateful smile on his face, Hae Jin said, "Thank you"

"I guess is not time to find out about them. That's why you can't see what they look like" Se Jong said instead of giving the answer Hae Jin desperately wanted to hear.

"True, and I don't want to find out right now" Hae Jin said.

He was too scared to find out about his past life, also, he wanted to focus more on Tae Jin.

"You don't want to cross over?" Se Jong asked.

"I.....I wanted to, but not anymore" 

"Well, am always here if you need me" Chae Joon said and he turned to look at him,

"Thanks" Hae Jin said with a smile and he and Chae Joon stared at each other, smiling.

While Se Jong watched, jealous.

'I don't like this at all' he said in mind.

"I've called you so many times but you never picked up" Shin Hye said as she took a seat on her bed.

She was on the phone with Tae Jin.

*Sigh, Tae Jin sighed and she heard loud and clear, "I'm sorry. I was kind of busy"

Busy?

Tae Jin........he.......

"I don't get you anymore Tae Jin. What's going on? What are we now?" Shin Hye asked.

What exactly were they? Were they still together? Were they dating?

How did Tae Jin feel about her now?

How did she feel about him now?...............Oh, she knew the answer to this.

After few seconds of silence, Tae Jin spoke,

"We......"

But Shin Hye didn't let him finish when she asked, "Do you still love me"

"I do" Tae Jin said with no hesitation.

He did? She.........

"Do you know, it's been a while........ tell me you love me, Tae Jin. I need it"

Tell her, he love her?

What the?! Why did she request this?!!

.................

She........she knew why. She.......she wanted to confirm it.

"I love you Shin Hye" Tae Jin said and afterwards silence blew.

God, it was so awkward! And this was the first time.

She finally got her answer. Shin Hye, smiling before changing the subject.

"Have you really moved out? And why?" Changing the subject was the best thing to do. It was so damn awkward and she knew Tae Jin felt it too.

"I need some time alone Shin Hye, I'll be back"

"How long? How much time do you need?" Shin Hye asked, still curious about the reason why Tae Jin left in the first place.

"I'll be back, I promise" was Tae Jin's answer.

He promised, fine, then, just like she has been doing, she'll trust him this time as well.

Tae Jin, at the right time, he'll tell her about it (Why he left the house) right?

DAYS LATER.

"I need your help Chae Joon" Hae Jin said as he looked at Chae Joon.

They were in the living room, sharing the same couch, the double couch while Se Jong and Sung Yoon shared the same couch.

Sung Hoon, once again, he didn't accompany Sung Yoon. None of them knew why and they didn't ask Sung Yoon either.

It's been more than a week since Tae Jin left and though Hae Jin looked a lot better than he was when he first came, he was still sick.

And it wasn't because he has lost half of his soul but because of something else.

Sung Yoon was sure of this.

"Before anything else, you guys have to know this. I found something about the old woman"

"The one who used to visit Hae Jin once every year?" Se Jong asked.

Right, Sung Yoon told him (Hae Jin) all about the woman.

Turns out she was dead and was a ghost now. She knew him and even sent a message to him.

She came over 13years ago but never entered the house. And a month later, she died. They don't how she died because she didn't say anything about it.

The food she used to leave behind, was for him as well. The woman used to come over for him.

Sung Yoon said, the house and he might be related. (Sung Yoon guessed, believe)

And if not, why would he be trap in this particular house of all other places, other houses in Seoul, in this world.

Well, he was no longer trap in this house but then...........

Why would the woman, who knew him, come over, come to this particular house, if she didn't know something.

If she didn't know this house and Hae Jin was connected.

This was definitely related to Hae Jin's past.

And thinking about it now, in his fifth memory, he said something about the pizza place near the house..............

Sung Yoon could be right. This house could be the very house he talked about in his memory.

The pizza place nearby was real as well. Thought he hasn't checked it out yet.

But Sung Yoon could be right. All pieces fit perfectly well.

But then............

"Yes. Mr Kim, you remember?" Sung Yoon asked Hae Jin, drawing him out of his thoughts.

"Yes, the one who told you about the old woman" Hae Jin said.

"Yes, him" Sung Yoon answered.

"The pervert" Hae Jin said and Sung Yoon rolled her eyes, irritated before saying,

"Yes, him, he said......he got information, the woman was last seen in front of a school two days ago. A school nearby"

Two days again? Did she come around? And why was she hiding in the first place?! Hae Jin asked himself but as usual, he got no answer.

"A school?" Se Jong asked.

"Yes, a school nearby. He said we should meet tomorrow in the evening. We have to go there" Sung Yoon said.

"No" Hae Jin suddenly announced, suddenly Sung Yoon.

"What do you mean no?" She asked, confused. Hae Jin wanted to find out about his past life so why the sudden change of mind?

"Tell him to cancel the plan"

"Why? Give me a good reason" Sung Yoon demanded.

After letting out a sigh, Hae Jin said, "We have to help Kim Soo and Kim Boom first"

"Kim Boom and Kim Soo?" Chae Joon asked.

Who are they? He (Chae Joon) asked in mind.

*Sigh, Hae Jin didn't want to talk about it but then, he had to. It was time he told them the truth.

Kim Soo asked for help. And it has been more than a week already. He had to help her now.

"I think is about time you know what happened to me" Hae Jin said and they looked at him, thinking,
