AMELIA’s POV….As I ran as fast as I could, I started to feel my legs quiver. It felt like I was going to fall in no time, but I had to keep going. I gasped in pain as I held on to my stomach, not even bothering to turn because I didn’t know where I was headed.I swallowed as I almost fell after tripping. “Damn it!” I cursed under my breathe as limping, I kept going. I didn’t care if I bled. What mattered was that I managed to get away from whatever that was and I managed to keep Alaric and Alex safe because that was the only thing that mattered now, especially as I knew that Lilly was safe.“Stop making this harder for yourself, Amelia. Give up now!” It screamed at me as it kept coming for me, but I refused to.Clearly, I had underestimated its powers because how was it possible that after it had melted that day, right in front of my eyes, it had returned again? What this thing could do, I didn’t know, and I definitely wasn’t willing to test what it was capable of doing where Alex
AMELIA’s POV….I screamed, feeling like my heart had come right out of my mouth as I did so, but luckily, I managed to grab on to a rock as in tears, my heart pounding, I grabbed on tighter. With tears streaming down my cheeks, I looked down. If I fell, there was no way my human body would survive. I could even die or get eaten by rogues. Who knew?“How are you so damn lucky, every freaking time?” It asked me as it hovered above me, bending as it stared at me, shaking its head as I struggled to remain there.“Help me! Anyone there? Help me!” I screamed as I struggled to keep hanging on to the rock.“Help? You ran all the way out to this cliff, darling. You ran away from both of your lovers, so, tell me, how on earth is anyone supposed to find you here?” It asked me, and remembering how far I’d come, tears streamed down my cheeks as I saw the rocks start to give way.“All these just for some powers? Some powers that the goddess didn’t deem fit to give to you? If she considered you wort
AMELIA’s POV……As might and scary as it looked, it wasn’t done. As it fully emerged out of the ground, its horns grew even more as its eyes started to darken and I held on tighter to the tree, weakly, as tears started to stream down my cheeks, while I shook my head.Gadob had a mocking smirk as it kept emerging and I clenched my fists as I wondered how cruel the moon goddess could actually be. I swallowed as finally, it came out of the ground, half dragon, and half a man, with the head of a human and horns of a fully grown cow.I closed my eyes as I shook my head, opening my eyes again. This had come for me, I knew, so I had to be prepared. Whether or not I wanted, I would have to fight it, so if I was going to fight it, it was better to be now.“You should have gone the easier way, Amelia Aniston.” It said and next thing I knew, I started to feel a choke hold on my neck.I gasped in pain as I held on to my neck, coughing, as I went on my knees, screaming in pain as I struggled with t
AMELIA’s POV….I gasped as I saw my hand start to glow. I took in a deep breathe as I clenched my fists, when suddenly, I heard Alex scream loudly. I raised my head to see him crashing against rocks and tears streamed down my cheeks.“Alex!” I screamed as I tried to get off the floor despite being as weak as I was.Gadob smirked as he slowly started to lift Alex over the floor and my eyes widened in shock as he started to hover Alex around the place.“This is really who you thought could protect you, Amelia, even when you, who had powers, couldn’t protect yourself?” He asked as he shook his head.“You underestimate me too much, too much for your own good, you know.” He said and tears streamed down my cheeks as I went on my knees.“Alex did nothing to you. It’s me you want, right? I’m the one with your powers, right? I’m the one you want to kill, am I not? Please, spare him, he has done nothing to you and…..”“Nothing?” He asked as he started to lead Alex towards the edge of the cliff
ALARIC’s POV….As I ran, my strength failing, I placed my hand to my chest. I was tired, very tired, I had to admit, but I had to find Amelia. My mind could never be at peace knowing that she had run off with a monster without being able to control her powers just yet.Where on earth Alexander had gone, I didn’t know, but whatever was wrong with that man, I would deal with it later. What mattered now was finding Amelia.I turned, and just as I did, I saw a route that led to the edge of a cliff. I didn’t know why, but I just had the feeling that she would be somewhere around there.I rushed towards that place and as I rushed towards there, I started to hear screams.Hearing a voice after running for so long made me increase my pace and getting there, my jaw dropped, my heart sinking into my stomach at the sight of Amelia’s hand in fire, all because she wanted to finish a different monster off. “Amelia!” I screamed as I staggered. He screamed in pain as he kept burning but she didn’t t
LORD ALARIC’s POV….A WEEK LATER…I sighed as I closed the files in front of me. Why was I trying to deceive myself? I wasn’t in anyway focusing, so why was I wasting my time?“Lord Alaric, do you need anything?” Akrim asked as he walked in and I nodded as I signaled at the files.“Take care of these.” I said and just as I made to leave, he stopped me.“Are you alright, Lord Alaric?” He asked me and I turned to him.“What do you mean?”“It’s been two weeks. Alpha Alexander and Lady Amelia. They’ve still not regained consciousness and I can see it taking a massive toll on you. You’ve not been able to focus properly on your work and you’ve been stalling a lot of things. Almost every hour of the day, you’re by the Lady’s bed, hoping she’d regain consciousness. I doubt you even eat, so….”“She’ll regain consciousness soon. I can feel it. I am her husband and besides, aside her sister, I want to be the first person she sees when she regains consciousness. It’d make me so happy if that happ
AMELIA’s POV….It all became pitched black. I couldn’t see a single thing and I gasped weakly. Although, compared to what I had thought I would feel from having burnt myself, I felt nothing. I felt completely numb and to be honest, this scared the hell out of me.I closed my eyes, hoping that when I did open my eyes, there would be some light wherever this was, but the moment I did, it was all pitch black, as it was when I had closed my eyes.“Hello? Anyone here?” I asked as I started to go further into wherever this was.I swallowed as I clenched my fists. I drew in a sharp breathe as I turned. “Alaric? Alex? Anyone there?” I asked as I placed my hand to my chest.I took in a deep inhale as I turned. “Whoever it is, this isn’t funny. Show yourself now!” I screamed as I turned around the place, hoping to at least a single ray of light, but there was nothing and now, fear was starting to creep into me.“Alaric? Where are you? I know you’re somewhere here. I’m fine. Please, come forward
AMELIA’s POV…..“And the orb? What…..” I tried to get off the bed, but before I could, I almost fell and if not for Alaric and his timely intervention, I would have fallen immediately.“Be careful.” He said as he held on to me and I shook my head.“Please, take me to Alex.” I said and although I could see a tiny bit of hurt in his eyes, I assumed it was because he was worried about me.“Amy, you just regained consciousness. Please, rest a little more.” Lilly tried to tell me, but then, those words kept ringing in my head.“Until you listen to the one who wants to speak to you, you won’t be free.” The word “free” stuck to my head.Had I really been free since I decided to leave Alex behind and just take my baby and Lilly with me? Months ago, after I decided to be “free” from the “lies” Alex had been telling about himself and Ariana, did I actually become free? After I gave up on the dreams that we had together, after I ran away, did I become free? Because now that I looked at it, it se
